Juuditin kiitoslaulu. Uhrijuhla Jerusalemissa. Juuditin vanhuus ja kuolema.
1Ja Juudit sanoi: Helistäkää vaskirumpuja minun Jumalani kunniaksi, ylistäkää Herraa kympaaleilla. Virittäkää hänelle uusi virsi, korottakaa ja avuksi huutakaa hänen nimeänsä. 2Sillä Herra on Jumala, joka lopettaa sodat. Hän pelasti minut leiriinsä kansan keskelle vainoojieni kädestä. 3Assur tuli vuorilta pohjoisesta, tuli sotajoukkojensa kymmentuhansin. Miekka katkaisi hänen kaulansa. 10Persialaiset kauhistuivat hänen rohkeuttansa, ja hänen uljuutensa täytti meedialaiset pelolla. 11Silloin minun sorrettuni puhkesivat riemuun, ja minun heikkoni suuresti iloitsivat. Mutta nuo toiset joutuivat pelon valtaan: he korottivat äänensä ja pakenivat. 12Nuorten äitien pojat pistivät heidät kuoliaaksi, ja niinkuin karanneita orjia he heitä surmasivat. Ja hän oli kaiken loppuikänsä suuresti kunnioitettu koko maassa. 22Ja monet halusivat häntä vaimoksensa, mutta siitä päivästä alkaen, jona hänen miehensä Manasse kuoli ja tuli otetuksi isiensä tykö, hän ei koko elinaikanansa yhtynyt ainoaankaan mieheen. 23Hän saavutti hyvin korkean iän, sataviisi vuotta, ja eli vanhuutensa päivät miehensä talossa. Ja hän vapautti palvelusneitsyensä. Hän kuoli Beetyluassa, ja hänet haudattiin miehensä Manassen luolahautaan. 24Ja Israelin heimo suri häntä seitsemän päivää. Mutta ennen kuolemaansa hän jakoi omaisuutensa miehensä Manassen kaikille lähimmille sukulaisille ja omille lähimmille sukulaisillensa. 25Ja niin kauan kuin Juudit eli, ei kukaan enää häirinnyt israelilaisia, eikä pitkään aikaan hänen kuoltuansakaan. How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
