Ít-ra-ên Được Đức Chúa Trời Chọn
1Tôi xin chân thành trình bày, trong Chúa Cứu Thế tôi không dám nói ngoa, có Chúa Thánh Linh chứng giám và lương tâm tôi xác nhận. 2Lòng tôi buồn rầu quá đỗi, lòng tôi đau xót đêm ngày 3vì dân tộc tôi, anh chị em của tôi. Tôi sẵn lòng chịu Chúa Cứu Thế khai trừ và bị rủa sả mãi mãi miễn là cứu vớt được anh chị em của tôi. 4Họ là dân tộc Ít-ra-ên, dân được Đức Chúa Trời nhận làm con cái, chia sẻ vinh quang, kết lời giao ước. Ngài dạy họ luật pháp, cách thờ phượng và hứa cho họ nhiều ân huệ. 5Họ thuộc dòng dõi Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác, và Gia-cốp; về phần xác, Chúa Cứu Thế cũng thuộc dòng dõi ấy. Nhưng Ngài vốn là Đức Chúa Trời, Đấng cai trị mọi vật và đáng được chúc tụng muôn đời! A-men. 6Vậy, có phải Đức Chúa Trời không giữ lời hứa của Ngài với người Ít-ra-ên không? Không, vì không phải tất cả dòng dõi Ít-ra-ên đều là dân của Đức Chúa Trời! 7Cũng không phải tất cả dòng dõi Áp-ra-ham đều được Đức Chúa Trời lựa chọn. Vì Kinh Thánh chép: “Bởi Y-sác mà dòng dõi con sẽ được kể,” ▼ Mặc dù Áp-ra-ham cũng có những con khác được hưởng lời hứa. 8Điều này có nghĩa là không phải con cháu của Áp-ra-ham là con cái Đức Chúa Trời. Nhưng chỉ dòng dõi đức tin mới thật sự là con cái theo lời hứa của Ngài. 9Đức Chúa Trời đã hứa: “Năm tới vào lúc này Ta sẽ trở lại và Sa-ra sẽ có con trai.” ▼ 10Con trai này là Y-sác, tổ phụ chúng ta. Khi Y-sác cưới Rê-bê-ca, nàng có thai song sinh. 11Trước khi hai con chưa sinh ra, chưa biết làm điều tốt hay điều xấu, thì người mẹ đã nhận sứ điệp từ Đức Chúa Trời. (Sứ điệp cho biết Đức Chúa Trời lựa chọn theo ý muốn của Ngài; 12Ngài chọn người của Ngài không theo việc làm tốt hay xấu của họ). Chúa phán bảo Rê-bê-ca: “Đứa lớn sẽ phục dịch đứa nhỏ.” ▼ 13Như Thánh Kinh viết: “Ta yêu Gia-cốp, nhưng ghét Ê-sau.” ▼ 14Vậy có phải Đức Chúa Trời bất công không? Chẳng bao giờ! 15Vì Đức Chúa Trời đã phán dạy Môi-se: “Ta sẽ nhân từ với người Ta chọn,và Ta sẽ thương xót người Ta muốn thương xót.” ▼
16Như thế, việc lựa chọn của Đức Chúa Trời không tùy thuộc ý muốn hay sức cố gắng của con người, nhưng do lòng nhân từ Ngài. 17Thánh Kinh cho biết Đức Chúa Trời phán với Pha-ra-ôn: “Ta cất nhắc ngươi lên ngôi để chứng tỏ quyền năng của Ta đối với ngươi, và nhân đó, Danh Ta được truyền ra khắp đất.” ▼ 18Vậy, Đức Chúa Trời tỏ lòng nhân từ đối với người này hoặc làm cứng lòng người khác tùy ý Ngài. 19Có người sẽ hỏi: “Đã thế, sao Đức Chúa Trời còn khiển trách, vì ai chống cự được ý Ngài?” 20Thưa không, đừng nói vậy. Bạn là ai mà dám chất vấn Đức Chúa Trời? Lẽ nào một chiếc bình bằng đất dám hỏi người thợ gốm: “Sao ông nặn ra tôi thế này?” 21Người thợ gốm chẳng có quyền dùng một miếng đất sét nặn ra chiếc bình này dùng vào việc sang trọng, và chiếc bình kia dùng vào việc tầm thường sao? 22Cũng thế, lẽ nào Đức Chúa Trời chẳng có quyền biểu lộ cơn thịnh nộ, chứng tỏ uy quyền của Ngài đối với những kẻ tội lỗi đáng hủy diệt, mà Ngài đã kiên tâm chịu đựng sao? 23Chúa không có quyền bày tỏ vinh quang rực rỡ của Ngài cho những người đáng thương xót được chuẩn bị từ trước để hưởng vinh quang với Ngài sao? 24Chính chúng ta là những người được Chúa lựa chọn, bao gồm cả người Do Thái lẫn Dân Ngoại. 25Về Dân Ngoại, đúng như lời Đức Chúa Trời dạy trong sách tiên tri Ô-sê: “Ta sẽ gọi họ là dân Ta
dù họ chẳng phải dân Ta.
Ta sẽ gọi họ là người yêu dấu
dù họ chẳng từng được yêu dấu.” ▼
26Và: “Đáng lẽ phải nói với họ:
‘Các ngươi chẳng phải dân Ta,’
thì Ta sẽ gọi họ là:
‘Con cái Đức Chúa Trời Hằng Sống.’” ▼
27Tiên tri Y-sai đã than thở về người Ít-ra-ên: “Dù dòng dõi Ít-ra-ên đông như cát bờ biển,
chỉ một số ít người được cứu.
28 Vì Chúa Hằng Hữu sẽ nhanh chóng thi hành án phạt trên khắp đất.” ▼
29Và Y-sai cũng đã nói: “Nếu Chúa Hằng Hữu Vạn Quân
không chừa lại cho chúng ta một vài hậu tự,
hẳn chúng ta đã bị quét sạch như Sô-đôm
và tuyệt diệt như Gô-mô-rơ.” ▼
Sự Vô Tín của Người Ít-ra-ên
30Vậy, chúng ta sẽ nói thế nào? Ngay cả khi các Dân Ngoại không theo được tiêu chuẩn của Đức Chúa Trời, nhưng họ đạt được công chính của Đức Chúa Trời. Và bởi đức tin đó họ đạt được công chính. 31Còn người Ít-ra-ên cố gắng vâng giữ luật pháp để được nhìn nhận là người công chính, lại không đạt được. 32Tại sao? Vì họ cậy công đức theo luật pháp, chứ không nhờ đức tin nên họ vấp phải hòn đá chướng ngại. 33Đức Chúa Trời đã cảnh cáo họ trong Thánh Kinh: “Này, Ta đặt tại Si-ôn một hòn đá chướng ngại,một tảng đá khiến nhiều người vấp ngã.
Nhưng ai tin Ngài
sẽ không bao giờ thất vọng.” ▼

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
