Giô-sa-phát và A-háp
1Giô-sa-phát được giàu có và vinh dự lớn, vua kết thông gia với A-háp, vua Ít-ra-ên để thắt chặt liên hệ giữa hai nước. 2Vài năm sau, vua đến Sa-ma-ri viếng A-háp. A-háp giết nhiều chiên bò đãi Giô-sa-phát và đoàn tùy tùng, rồi thuyết phục Giô-sa-phát đem quân đánh Ra-mốt Ga-la-át. 3A-háp, vua Ít-ra-ên hỏi Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa: “Vua có đi Ra-mốt Ga-la-át với tôi không?” Giô-sa-phát đáp: “Tôi là đồng minh của vua, quân đội tôi là quân đội vua. Chúng tôi sẽ cùng vua ra trận!” 4Giô-sa-phát đáp: “Nhưng trước hết, chúng ta phải cầu hỏi Chúa Hằng Hữu.” 5Vua Ít-ra-ên tập họp 400 tiên tri, và hỏi: “Chúng ta có nên đi đánh Ra-mốt Ga-la-át hay không?” Các tiên tri đáp: “Nên đi! Đức Chúa Trời sẽ cho vua thắng vẻ vang.” 6Giô-sa-phát hỏi: “Có tiên tri nào khác của Chúa Hằng Hữu ở đây không?” 7Vua Ít-ra-ên trả lời Giô-sa-phát: “Có một người có thể cầu hỏi Chúa Hằng Hữu cho chúng ta tên là Mi-chê, con Giêm-la, nhưng tôi ghét hắn lắm. Vì chẳng nói lời tiên tri tốt nào cho tôi, chỉ toàn là điều xấu.” Giô-sa-phát bảo: “Vua chẳng nên nói thế! Hãy nghe thử hắn sẽ nói gì.” 8Vậy, vua Ít-ra-ên bảo một người hầu cận: “Đi gọi Mi-chê, con Giêm-la, đến đây ngay.”Mi-chê Nói Tiên Tri Chống Nghịch A-háp
9A-háp, vua Ít-ra-ên và Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa, mặc vương bào, ngồi trên hai ngai đặt nơi sân rộng bên cửa thành Sa-ma-ri. Trước mắt hai vua là các tiên tri của A-háp đang nói tiên tri. 10Sê-đê-kia, con Kê-na-na, làm những sừng bằng sắt và nói: “Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: Với các sừng này, vua sẽ húc người A-ram cho đến chết.” 11Tất cả các tiên tri đều nói như thế: “Phải, hãy đi đánh Ra-mốt Ga-la-át, và chiến thắng, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu cho vua chiến thắng vẻ vang.” 12Sứ giả của vua nói với Mi-chê: “Lời các tiên tri đều nói chiến thắng sẽ thuộc về vua, xin ông làm giống như họ và nói lời lành cho vua.” 13Nhưng Mi-chê đáp: “Trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu hằng sống, ta quả quyết: Đức Chúa Trời phán điều gì, ta nói điều ấy.” 14Khi Mi-chê đến, A-háp hỏi: “Mi-chê, chúng ta có nên đi đánh Ra-mốt Ga-la-át hay không?” Mi-chê đáp: “Cứ đi, vua sẽ đắc thắng vẻ vang!” 15Vua nói: “Đã bao nhiêu lần ta buộc ngươi nhân danh Chúa thề chỉ nói đúng sự thật mà thôi.” 16Mi-chê đáp: “Tôi thấy toàn dân Ít-ra-ên tản lạc trên núi, như chiên không có người chăn. Và Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: ‘Dân không có người lãnh đạo, hãy cho họ về nhà bình an.’” 17Vua Ít-ra-ên nói với Giô-sa-phát: “Vua thấy không, người này chẳng nói tiên tri lành về tôi, chỉ toàn nói điều dữ.” 18Mi-chê nói tiếp: “Hãy nghe lời Chúa Hằng Hữu! Tôi thấy Chúa Hằng Hữu ngồi trên ngai, tất cả thiên binh đều đứng hai bên Ngài. 19Chúa Hằng Hữu hỏi: ‘Ai có thể thuyết phục A-háp, vua Ít-ra-ên đi đánh Ra-mốt Ga-la-át để bị ngã chết tại đó?’ Có nhiều ý kiến được đưa ra, 20nhưng cuối cùng, một thần bước tới trước mặt Chúa Hằng Hữu thưa: ‘Tôi sẽ đi thuyết phục A-háp!’ Chúa Hằng Hữu hỏi: ‘Bằng cách nào?’ 21Thần đáp: ‘Tôi sẽ làm thần nói dối trong miệng các tiên tri của A-háp.’ Chúa Hằng Hữu phán: ‘Ngươi có thể thuyết phục được, hãy đi, làm như thế.’ 22Bây giờ, Chúa Hằng Hữu đã đặt thần nói dối trong miệng các tiên tri của vua, vì Chúa Hằng Hữu đã định việc dữ cho vua.” 23Sê-đê-kia, con Kê-na-na, đến gần tát vào mặt Mi-chê, mắng: “Thần của Chúa Hằng Hữu ra khỏi tôi khi nào để phán dạy ngươi?” 24Mi-chê đáp: “Lúc ngươi trốn trong phòng kín, ngươi sẽ biết!” 25Vua Ít-ra-ên truyền lệnh: “Hãy bắt Mi-chê giao cho A-môn, tổng trấn thành, và con trai ông là Giô-ách. 26Hãy nói với họ lệnh của vua: ‘Giam người này trong ngục, chỉ cho ăn bánh và nước cho đến ngày ta trở về bình an.’” 27Mi-chê nói: “Nếu vua trở về bình an, tất Chúa Hằng Hữu không phán dạy qua tôi!” Rồi ông nói với những người đứng chung quanh: “Hãy ghi nhớ lời ta!”A-háp Qua Đời
28Vậy, A-háp, vua Ít-ra-ên và Giô-sa-phát, vua Giu-đa cùng kéo quân lên Ra-mốt Ga-la-át. 29Vua Ít-ra-ên bàn với Giô-sa-phát: “Tôi sẽ cải trang ra trận để không ai nhận ra, còn vua cứ mặc vương bào.” Thế rồi, Vua Ít-ra-ên cải trang và họ cùng xuất trận. 30Trước đó, vua A-ram đã ra lệnh cho các tướng chỉ huy chiến xa: “Các ngươi đừng đánh ai hết. Chỉ lo hạ cho được vua Ít-ra-ên mà thôi!” 31Vừa thấy Giô-sa-phát, các tướng A-ram chỉ huy chiến xa tưởng là vua Ít-ra-ên liền tấn công vua, nhưng nghe Giô-sa-phát kêu cứu, Đức Chúa Trời liền cứu vua thoát chết. 32Khi các tướng chiến xa thấy không phải là vua Ít-ra-ên, họ không đuổi đánh nữa. 33Nhưng ngay lúc đó, một người lính A-ram tình cờ giương cung bắn trúng vua Ít-ra-ên giữa nơi hai phần áo giáp hở ra. A-háp nói với người đánh xe rằng “Hãy quay lại, đưa ta ra khỏi đây! Ta đã bị thương nặng!” 34Chiến sự càng lúc càng ác liệt, vua Ít-ra-ên đứng vịn trên xe nhìn về phía quân A-ram. Và đến chiều, lúc mặt trời lặn thì vua chết.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
