1Hãy bỏ hết mọi hận thù, gian trá, giả nhân giả nghĩa, ganh tị, nói hành. 2Như trẻ sơ sinh, anh chị em hãy khao khát sữa thiêng liêng thuần khiết, để nhờ đó anh chị em càng tăng trưởng trong sự cứu rỗi. 3Nếm biết sự nuôi dưỡng này, bấy giờ anh chị em sẽ biết sự ngọt ngào của lòng nhân từ của Chúa.Tảng Đá Sống
4Hãy đến gần Chúa Cứu Thế là nền đá sống. Ngài đã bị loài người loại bỏ, nhưng được Đức Chúa Trời lựa chọn và quý chuộng. 5Anh chị em cũng đã trở thành những tảng đá sống, được Đức Chúa Trời dùng xây nhà Ngài. Hơn nữa, anh chị em còn làm thầy tế lễ thánh, nên hãy nhờ Chúa Cứu Thế Giê-xu, dâng lên Đức Chúa Trời những lễ vật đẹp lòng Ngài. 6Thánh Kinh đã xác nhận: “Ta đã đặt tại Si-ôn một tảng đá,được lựa chọn và quý trọng,
và ai tin cậy nơi Ngài
sẽ không bao giờ thất vọng.” ▼
7Vâng, Ngài rất quý báu đối với anh chị em là những người có lòng tin. Nhưng đối với những ai khước từ Ngài, thì “Tảng đá bị thợ nề loại bỏ
lại trở thành Tảng Đá móng.” ▼
8Và: “Ngài là Tảng Đá làm nhiều người vấp chân,
Tảng Đá khiến lắm người bị ngã nhào.” ▼
Họ vấp ngã vì không chịu vâng lời Đức Chúa Trời. Đó là hậu quả tất nhiên. 9Nhưng anh chị em không vấp ngã vì đã được chính Đức Chúa Trời tuyển chọn. Anh chị em là thầy tế lễ của Vua Thiên Đàng. Anh chị em là một dân tộc thánh thiện, thuộc về Đức Chúa Trời. Anh chị em được chọn để làm chứng cho mọi người biết Chúa đã đem anh chị em ra khỏi cảnh tối tăm tuyệt vọng đưa vào trong ánh sáng phước hạnh kỳ diệu của Ngài.
10 “Trước kia thân phận anh chị em quá hẩm hiu,
nhưng bây giờ anh chị em được làm dân Đức Chúa Trời.
Trước kia, anh chị em chẳng biết gì về lòng nhân từ của Đức Chúa Trời;
nhưng nay anh chị em đã được Ngài thương xót.” ▼
11Anh chị em thân yêu, dưới trần thế này anh chị em chỉ là khách lạ. Thiên đàng mới là quê hương thật của anh chị em. Vậy, tôi xin anh chị em hãy xa lánh mọi dục vọng tội lỗi vì chúng phá hoại linh hồn anh chị em. 12Hãy thận trọng đối xử với bạn hữu chưa được cứu, để dù có lên án anh chị em, cuối cùng khi Chúa Giê-xu trở lại họ cũng phải ca ngợi Đức Chúa Trời vì nếp sống ngay lành của anh chị em.
Vâng Phục Nhà Cầm Quyền
13Vì Danh Chúa, anh chị em hãy vâng phục mọi thẩm quyền của loài người—hoặc vua là người nắm quyền tối cao, 14hoặc những quan viên do vua chỉ định. Vì vua đã ủy nhiệm họ trừng phạt những người làm ác và vinh danh người làm lành. 15Đức Chúa Trời muốn anh chị em sống cuộc đời lương thiện để làm câm lặng những người dại dột thường nói lời dốt nát chống lại anh em. 16Anh chị em đã thoát khỏi vòng kiềm tỏa; như thế không có nghĩa là anh chị em được tự do làm điều quấy. Hãy sống như người đầy tớ của Đức Chúa Trời. 17Hãy kính trọng mọi người. Hãy yêu thương anh chị em tín hữu. Hãy kính sợ Đức Chúa Trời và tôn trọng vua.Nhẫn Nại Chịu Khổ
18Người làm đầy tớ phải kính trọng chủ, phục tùng không những chủ tốt bụng, biết điều, 19mà luôn cả người khó tính. Hãy ca ngợi Chúa nếu anh chị em bị bạc đãi vì làm lành. 20Dĩ nhiên nếu anh chị em làm quấy, rồi chịu đựng hành hạ đánh đập thì chẳng có gì đáng khen, nhưng nếu anh chị em chịu khổ vì làm lành và kiên nhẫn chịu đựng, Đức Chúa Trời sẽ rất hài lòng. 21Chịu đau khổ cũng là việc Đức Chúa Trời giao cho anh chị em. Chúa Cứu Thế đã chịu khổ vì anh chị em và làm gương sáng cho anh chị em, nên anh chị em hãy bước theo dấu chân Ngài.22 Chúa chẳng hề phạm tội,
không nói một lời dối trá. ▼
23 Khi bị lăng nhục Ngài không trả đũa,
khi bị đau khổ Ngài không hăm dọa phục thù.
Ngài phó thác nỗi oan khiên của mình trong tay Đức Chúa Trời,
Đấng xét xử công minh.
24 Khi chịu chết trên cây thập tự,
Ngài đã gánh hết tội lỗi chúng ta trong thân thể Ngài,
để chúng ta có thể dứt khoát với tội lỗi
và sống cuộc đời công chính.
Vết thương Ngài chịu
đã chữa lành thương tích chúng ta.
25 Anh chị em trước kia
như chiên đi lạc.
Nhưng nay đã trở về Đấng Chăn Chiên Lớn,
Đấng coi sóc linh hồn anh chị em.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
