10โมเสสได้ยินเสียงคร่ำครวญของผู้คนจากทุกครอบครัว แต่ละคนยืนอยู่หน้าทางเข้าเต็นท์ของเขา องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้ากริ้วยิ่งนัก โมเสสเองก็ลำบากใจอย่างยิ่ง 11เขากราบทูลองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า “ทำไมจึงทรงให้ผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์เดือดร้อนเช่นนี้? ข้าพระองค์ทำสิ่งใดไม่เป็นที่พอพระทัยหรือ จึงทรงให้ข้าพระองค์แบกภาระทั้งหมดของชนชาตินี้? 12ข้าพระองค์ตั้งครรภ์คนเหล่านี้หรือ? ข้าพระองค์ให้กำเนิดเขาหรือ? จึงทรงให้ข้าพระองค์ประคบประหงมพวกเขาราวกับพี่เลี้ยงอุ้มทารกไว้ในอ้อมแขน กว่าจะไปถึงดินแดนที่พระองค์ทรงสัญญาไว้กับบรรพบุรุษของพวกเขา 13ข้าพระองค์จะไปหาเนื้อจากที่ไหนมาให้คนทั้งหมดนี้? พวกเขาคร่ำครวญกับข้าพระองค์ว่า ‘ให้พวกเราได้กินเนื้อเถิด!’ 14ข้าพระองค์ตัวคนเดียวหอบหิ้วประชากรทั้งหมดนี้ไปไม่ไหว เป็นภาระหนักเกินทน 15หากพระองค์จะทรงทำกับข้าพระองค์อย่างนี้ ก็โปรดเมตตาประหารข้าพระองค์เดี๋ยวนี้เถิด ถ้าข้าพระองค์เป็นที่โปรดปรานในสายพระเนตรของพระองค์ อย่าให้ข้าพระองค์ต้องเผชิญกับความหายนะเลย”
16 องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสกับโมเสสว่า “จงนำผู้อาวุโสเจ็ดสิบคนของอิสราเอลซึ่งเจ้ารู้จักในฐานะผู้นำและเจ้าหน้าที่ในหมู่ประชากรนั้นมาพบเรา ให้พวกเขามายืนอยู่กับเจ้าที่เต็นท์นัดพบ 17เราจะลงมาพูดกับเจ้าที่นั่น และจะเอาพระวิญญาณที่อยู่เหนือเจ้ามอบให้อยู่เหนือคนเหล่านั้นด้วย พวกเขาจะช่วยแบกภาระเรื่องประชากรร่วมกับเจ้า เจ้าจะได้ไม่ต้องรับงานนี้แต่ลำพัง
18“จงบอกเหล่าประชากรว่า ‘จงชำระตัวให้บริสุทธิ์ เตรียมพร้อมสำหรับพรุ่งนี้ซึ่งพวกเจ้าจะมีเนื้อกิน องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้ยินที่พวกเจ้าโอดครวญแล้วว่า “เราอยากกินเนื้อเหลือเกิน! อยู่ที่อียิปต์ยังดีเสียกว่า!” บัดนี้องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าจะให้เจ้ากินเนื้อ 19ไม่ใช่เพียงวันสองวัน ห้าวัน สิบวันหรือยี่สิบวัน 20แต่พวกเจ้าจะมีเนื้อกินหนึ่งเดือนเต็ม จนล้นออกมาทางจมูกจนเจ้าเอือม เพราะพวกเจ้าปฏิเสธ องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าผู้อยู่ท่ามกลางพวกเจ้า และคร่ำครวญต่อพระองค์ว่า “ทำไมพวกเราต้องจากอียิปต์มา?”’”
21แต่โมเสสกราบทูลว่า “ข้าพระองค์มีพลเดินเท้าถึงหกแสนคนยืนอยู่ที่นี่ แล้วพระองค์ยังตรัสว่า ‘เราจะให้เนื้อพวกเขากินตลอดหนึ่งเดือนเต็ม!’ 22ต่อให้เอาฝูงแพะ แกะ และวัวทั้งหมดมาฆ่ากินจะพอหรือ? หากจะจับปลาหมดทะเลมาให้พวกเขากินจะเพียงพอหรือ?”
23 องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงตอบโมเสสว่า “มีอะไรที่เกินความสามารถขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าหรือ? คราวนี้เจ้าจะได้เห็นว่าที่เราพูดนั้นจะเป็นจริงหรือไม่”
24ดังนั้นโมเสสจึงออกมาแจ้งพระดำรัสขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าให้ประชากรทั้งหลายทราบ และเรียกประชุมผู้อาวุโสเจ็ดสิบคนมายืนเรียงรายรอบพลับพลา 25แล้วองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเสด็จลงมาในเมฆตรัสกับโมเสส และทรงนำพระวิญญาณที่อยู่เหนือโมเสสประทานให้อยู่เหนือผู้อาวุโสทั้งเจ็ดสิบคน เมื่อพระวิญญาณประทับอยู่เหนือพวกเขา เขาก็เผยพระวจนะอยู่ชั่วขณะหนึ่ง หลังจากนั้นพวกเขาก็ไม่เผยพระวจนะอีก ▼

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
