ความเชื่อของนายร้อย
(มธ.8:5-13)
1เมื่อพระเยซูตรัสทั้งหมดนี้ให้ประชาชนฟังจนจบแล้ว พระองค์ก็เสด็จเข้าเมืองคาเปอรนาอุม 2ที่นั่นมีคนรับใช้ของนายร้อยคนหนึ่งป่วยหนักใกล้จะตาย นายร้อยรักคนรับใช้ผู้นั้นมาก 3เมื่อได้ยินเรื่องของพระเยซูแล้ว เขาก็ส่งผู้อาวุโสชาวยิวบางคนมาทูลเชิญพระเยซูไปรักษาคนรับใช้ของเขา 4เมื่อคนเหล่านั้นมาถึงก็ทูลอ้อนวอนพระเยซูด้วยความร้อนใจว่า “นายร้อยผู้นี้เป็นคนที่พระองค์ทรงสมควรจะไปช่วยอย่างยิ่ง 5เพราะเขารักชนชาติของเราและสร้างธรรมศาลาให้เรา” 6ดังนั้นพระเยซูจึงเสด็จไปกับพวกเขาเมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาใกล้จะถึงบ้านนั้น นายร้อยก็ให้เพื่อนๆ มาทูลพระเยซูว่า “พระองค์เจ้าข้า อย่าลำบากพระองค์เลยเพราะข้าพระองค์ไม่คู่ควรที่จะให้พระองค์เสด็จมาใต้ชายคาบ้านของข้าพระองค์ 7เพราะเหตุนี้ข้าพระองค์จึงคิดว่าตนเองไม่คู่ควรแม้แต่จะมาเข้าเฝ้าพระองค์ เพียงแต่พระองค์ตรัสสั่งเท่านั้นคนรับใช้ของข้าพระองค์ก็จะหายป่วย 8เพราะข้าพระองค์เองมีทั้งผู้บังคับบัญชาและมีทหารใต้บังคับบัญชา ข้าพระองค์สั่งคนนี้ว่า ‘ไป’ เขาก็ไป สั่งคนนั้นว่า ‘มา’ เขาก็มา ข้าพระองค์สั่งคนรับใช้ว่า ‘จงทำสิ่งนี้’ เขาก็ทำ”
9เมื่อพระเยซูทรงได้ยินเช่นนี้ก็ทรงประหลาดใจในตัวเขา แล้วหันมาตรัสกับฝูงชนที่ติดตามพระองค์ว่า “เราบอกท่านว่าเราไม่เคยพบความเชื่อที่ยิ่งใหญ่เช่นนี้แม้แต่ในอิสราเอล” 10แล้วคนเหล่านั้นที่นายร้อยส่งมาก็กลับไปบ้านและพบว่าคนรับใช้นั้นหายดีแล้ว

11หลังจากนั้นไม่นานพระเยซูเสด็จเข้าไปในเมืองนาอิน เหล่าสาวกและประชาชนกลุ่มใหญ่ติดตามพระองค์ไป 12เมื่อพระองค์เสด็จมาเกือบถึงประตูเมือง มีคนหามศพชายหนุ่มคนหนึ่งมา เขาเป็นลูกชายคนเดียวของหญิงม่าย ชาวเมืองมากมายมากับหญิงนั้น 13เมื่อพระองค์ทรงเห็นนางก็ทรงสงสารนางยิ่งนักและตรัสว่า “อย่าร้องไห้เลย”14แล้วพระองค์เสด็จเข้าไปแตะโลงศพ คนหามก็ยืนนิ่ง พระองค์ตรัสว่า “พ่อหนุ่ม เราสั่งเจ้าว่าจงลุกขึ้นเถิด!” 15ผู้ตายก็ลุกขึ้นนั่งและเริ่มพูดจา พระเยซูจึงทรงมอบเขาคืนให้มารดา
16คนทั้งปวงเต็มไปด้วยความเกรงกลัวและสรรเสริญพระเจ้าว่า “ผู้เผยพระวจนะยิ่งใหญ่มาปรากฏในหมู่เรา พระเจ้าเสด็จมาช่วยประชากรของพระองค์แล้ว” 17กิตติศัพท์เรื่องนี้ของพระเยซูก็เลื่องลือไปทั่วแคว้นยูเดีย ▼

18พวกสาวกของยอห์นมาเล่าให้เขาฟังเกี่ยวกับเหตุการณ์ทั้งปวงเหล่านั้น ยอห์นจึงเรียกศิษย์สองคนมา 19และส่งเขาไปทูลถามองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าว่า “ท่านคือผู้ที่จะมานั้นหรือเราจะต้องคอยผู้อื่น?”20เมื่อคนทั้งสองมาถึงก็ทูลพระองค์ว่า “ยอห์นผู้ให้บัพติศมาส่งพวกข้าพเจ้ามาทูลถามท่านว่า ‘ท่านคือผู้ที่จะมานั้นหรือเราจะต้องคอยผู้อื่น?’”
21ในขณะนั้นพระเยซูทรงรักษาคนเจ็บคนป่วยหลายคนให้หายจากโรคและจากวิญญาณชั่ว และทรงทำให้คนตาบอดหลายคนมองเห็นได้ 22ดังนั้นพระองค์จึงตรัสกับสองคนนั้นว่า “จงกลับไปรายงานสิ่งที่ท่านได้เห็นได้ยินแก่ยอห์น คือคนตาบอดมองเห็นได้ คนง่อยเดินได้ คนโรคเรื้อน ▼

หายจากโรค คนหูหนวกกลับได้ยิน คนตายแล้วเป็นขึ้นมา และข่าวประเสริฐได้ประกาศแก่คนยากไร้ 23คนที่ไม่สูญเสียความเชื่อไปเพราะเราก็เป็นสุข” 24เมื่อศิษย์ของยอห์นไปแล้ว พระเยซูจึงเริ่มตรัสกับประชาชนเกี่ยวกับยอห์นว่า “พวกท่านออกไปดูอะไรในถิ่นกันดาร? ดูต้นอ้อลู่ตามลมหรือ? 25หากไม่ใช่ ท่านออกไปดูอะไร? ดูคนนุ่งห่มผ้าเนื้อดีหรือ? ไม่ใช่เลย เพราะบรรดาผู้ที่สวมเสื้อผ้าราคาแพงและชอบฟุ้งเฟ้อย่อมอยู่ในวัง 26แต่ท่านออกไปดูอะไร? ผู้เผยพระวจนะหรือ? ใช่แล้ว เราบอกพวกท่านว่าชายผู้นี้เป็นยิ่งกว่าผู้เผยพระวจนะเสียอีก 27ยอห์นนี่แหละคือผู้ที่มีเขียนถึงไว้ว่า
“ ‘ดูเถิด เราจะส่งทูตของเรามาก่อนท่าน
เพื่อเตรียมทางไว้ให้ท่านล่วงหน้า’ ▼

28เราบอกท่านว่าในบรรดาคนที่เกิดจากผู้หญิงไม่มีคนไหนยิ่งใหญ่กว่ายอห์น กระนั้นผู้เล็กน้อยที่สุดในอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าก็ยังยิ่งใหญ่กว่ายอห์น”
29(คนทั้งปวงแม้แต่คนเก็บภาษีเมื่อได้ยินคำตรัสของพระเยซูก็รับว่าทางของพระเจ้าถูกต้อง เพราะพวกเขาได้รับบัพติศมาจากยอห์นแล้ว 30แต่พวกฟาริสีและผู้เชี่ยวชาญในบทบัญญัติไม่ยอมรับพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้าสำหรับพวกเขา เพราะพวกเขาไม่ได้รับบัพติศมาจากยอห์น)

33เพราะยอห์นผู้ให้บัพติศมาไม่กินขนมปังและไม่ดื่มเหล้าองุ่น พวกท่านก็กล่าวว่า ‘เขามีผีสิง’ 34ส่วนบุตรมนุษย์มาทั้งกินและดื่มและพวกท่านก็กล่าวว่า ‘นี่คือคนตะกละและขี้เมา เป็นมิตรของคนเก็บภาษีและ “คนบาป” ’ 35แต่พระปัญญาก็ผ่านการพิสูจน์แล้วว่าถูกต้องโดยคนทั้งปวงที่ปฏิบัติตามพระปัญญานั้น ▼

36ฟาริสีคนหนึ่งเชิญพระเยซูไปรับประทานอาหารมื้อค่ำ พระองค์จึงเสด็จไปที่บ้านของเขาและทรงนั่งรับประทานอาหารอยู่ที่โต๊ะ 37หญิงคนหนึ่งในเมืองนั้นเคยเป็นหญิงชั่วเมื่อรู้ว่าพระเยซูกำลังเสวยพระกระยาหารที่บ้านฟาริสีคนนั้น ก็นำขวดน้ำมันหอมเข้ามา 38และมายืนอยู่ข้างหลังพระองค์ที่พระบาท นางร่ำไห้หลั่งน้ำตารดพระบาทแล้วเอาผมเช็ด จูบพระบาท และรินน้ำมันหอมชโลมพระบาทของพระองค์39เมื่อฟาริสีที่เชิญพระเยซูเห็นเช่นนั้นก็นึกในใจว่า “หากคนนี้เป็นผู้เผยพระวจนะ เขาก็น่าจะรู้ว่าผู้ที่มาแตะต้องเขาเป็นใครและเป็นผู้หญิงประเภทไหนเพราะนางเป็นคนบาป”
40พระเยซูตรัสกับเขาว่า “ซีโมน เรามีอะไรจะบอกท่าน”
เขาทูลว่า “ท่านอาจารย์ ว่าไปเถิด”
41พระองค์ตรัสว่า “คนปล่อยเงินกู้คนหนึ่งมีลูกหนี้สองราย รายหนึ่งเป็นหนี้ห้าร้อยเหรียญเดนาริอัน ▼

อีกรายหนึ่งเป็นหนี้ห้าสิบเหรียญ 42ทั้งสองคนไม่มีเงินใช้หนี้ เขาจึงยกหนี้ให้ทั้งคู่ ในสองคนนี้คนไหนจะรักเจ้าหนี้มากกว่ากัน?” 43ซีโมนทูลตอบว่า “ข้าพเจ้าคิดว่าคนที่ได้รับการยกหนี้มากกว่า”
พระเยซูตรัสว่า “ท่านตัดสินถูกแล้ว”
44แล้วพระองค์ทรงหันไปทางหญิงนั้นและตรัสกับซีโมนว่า “ท่านเห็นหญิงคนนี้หรือไม่ เราเข้ามาในบ้านของท่าน ท่านไม่ได้เอาน้ำมาให้เราล้างเท้า ส่วนนางเอาน้ำตาล้างเท้าของเราและเช็ดด้วยผมของนาง 45ท่านไม่ได้จูบเรา แต่หญิงนี้จูบเท้าเราไม่หยุดตั้งแต่เราเข้ามาในบ้าน 46ท่านไม่ได้รินน้ำมันรดศีรษะของเรา แต่นางรินน้ำมันหอมรดเท้าของเรา 47เหตุฉะนั้นเราบอกท่านว่าบาปมากมายของนางได้รับการอภัยแล้วตามที่ได้เห็นจากความรักมากมายของนาง แต่ผู้ที่ได้รับการอภัยน้อยก็รักน้อย”
48แล้วพระเยซูตรัสกับนางว่า “บาปของเจ้าได้รับการอภัยแล้ว”
49แขกรับเชิญคนอื่นๆ เริ่มพูดกันว่า “ผู้นี้เป็นใครหนอจึงให้อภัยบาปได้?”
50พระเยซูตรัสกับหญิงนั้นว่า “ความเชื่อของเจ้าได้ทำให้เจ้ารอด จงไปเป็นสุขเถิด”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
