พระเยซูทรงรักษาชายตาบอดแต่กำเนิด
1ขณะเสด็จไปตามทางพระองค์ทรงเห็นชายตาบอดแต่กำเนิดคนหนึ่ง 2เหล่าสาวกทูลถามพระองค์ว่า “รับบี ใครกันที่ทำบาป ชายผู้นี้หรือบิดามารดาของเขา เขาจึงเกิดมาตาบอด?”3พระเยซูตรัสว่า “ไม่ใช่คนนี้หรือบิดามารดาของเขาที่ทำบาป แต่การนี้เกิดขึ้นเพื่อสำแดงพระราชกิจของพระเจ้าในชีวิตของเขา 4ตราบใดที่ยังเป็นเวลากลางวันอยู่พวกเราต้องทำงานของพระองค์ผู้ทรงส่งเรามา จวนจะถึงเวลากลางคืนแล้ว เวลานั้นไม่มีใครทำงานได้ 5ขณะที่เราอยู่ในโลก เราเป็นความสว่างของโลก”
6เมื่อพระองค์ตรัสเช่นนี้แล้วก็ทรงบ้วนน้ำลายลงที่พื้นทำเป็นโคลนทาที่ตาของคนนั้น 7พระองค์ตรัสสั่งเขาว่า “จงไปล้างออกที่สระสิโลอัมเถิด” (สิโลอัมแปลว่า ส่งไป) ชายคนนั้นจึงไปล้างโคลนออกและขณะกลับบ้านก็มองเห็นได้
8เพื่อนบ้านของเขาและผู้ที่เคยเห็นเขานั่งขอทานถามกันว่า “นี่เป็นชายคนเดียวกับคนที่เคยนั่งขอทานไม่ใช่หรือ?” 9บางคนก็ว่าใช่
บางคนก็ว่า “ไม่ใช่ เพียงแต่หน้าตาคล้ายๆ กัน”
แต่ตัวเขาเองยืนยันว่า “ข้าพเจ้าคือชายคนนั้น”
10พวกเขาคาดคั้นว่า “แล้วตาของท่านหายบอดได้อย่างไร?”
11เขาตอบว่า “ชายคนที่เรียกกันว่าพระเยซูเอาโคลนทาที่ตาทั้งสองข้างของข้าพเจ้าและสั่งให้ข้าพเจ้าไปล้างออกที่สระสิโลอัม ดังนั้นข้าพเจ้าจึงไปล้างออกแล้วข้าพเจ้าก็มองเห็นได้”
12พวกเขาถามว่า “ชายคนนั้นอยู่ที่ไหน?”
เขาตอบว่า “ข้าพเจ้าไม่ทราบ”

แต่คนอื่นๆ ถามว่า “คนบาปจะทำหมายสำคัญเช่นนี้ได้อย่างไร?” พวกเขาจึงแตกแยกกัน
17ในที่สุดพวกเขาหันมาถามชายตาบอดอีกว่า “เจ้าจะว่าอย่างไรเกี่ยวกับคนนั้น? ในเมื่อเขาทำให้ตาของเจ้าหายบอด”
เขาตอบว่า “เขาเป็นผู้เผยพระวจนะ”
18พวกยิวยังไม่เชื่อว่าเขาเคยตาบอดและกลับมองเห็นได้จนกระทั่งได้เรียกบิดามารดาของเขามา 19พวกเขาถามว่า “นี่คือลูกชายของเจ้าใช่ไหม? นี่คือคนที่เจ้าบอกว่าตาบอดแต่กำเนิดใช่ไหม? เดี๋ยวนี้เขามองเห็นได้อย่างไร?”
20บิดามารดาของเขาตอบว่า “เรารู้ว่าเขาเป็นลูกของเราและเรารู้ว่าเขาตาบอดมาตั้งแต่เกิด 21แต่เราไม่รู้ว่าเดี๋ยวนี้เขามองเห็นได้อย่างไร หรือใครรักษาตาของเขาให้หายบอด จงถามเขาเถิด เขาเป็นผู้ใหญ่แล้วเขาพูดเองได้” 22บิดามารดาของเขาพูดเช่นนั้นเพราะกลัวพวกยิวเพราะพวกเขาได้ตกลงกันไว้ว่าใครยอมรับพระเยซูเป็นพระคริสต์ ▼

25เขาตอบว่า “เขาเป็นคนบาปหรือไม่ข้าพเจ้าไม่ทราบ สิ่งเดียวที่ข้าพเจ้าทราบก็คือข้าพเจ้าเคยตาบอดแต่เดี๋ยวนี้มองเห็นแล้ว!”
26แล้วพวกเขาจึงถามว่า “เขาทำอะไรกับเจ้า? เขาทำอย่างไรตาของเจ้าจึงหายบอด?”
27เขาตอบว่า “ข้าพเจ้าก็บอกไปแล้วและพวกท่านไม่ฟัง ทำไมท่านอยากฟังอีก? ท่านอยากเป็นสาวกของเขาด้วยหรือ?”
28แล้วพวกนั้นจึงพากันประณามเขาเป็นการใหญ่และกล่าวว่า “เจ้าเป็นสาวกของคนนั้น! ส่วนเราเป็นสาวกของโมเสส! 29เรารู้ว่าพระเจ้าตรัสกับโมเสส แต่ส่วนคนนั้นเราไม่รู้ด้วยซ้ำว่าเขามาจากไหน”
30ชายคนนั้นตอบว่า “แปลกจริงๆ! ท่านไม่รู้ว่าเขามาจากไหนแต่เขาก็รักษาตาของข้าพเจ้าให้หายบอด 31พวกเรารู้ว่าพระเจ้าไม่ได้ทรงฟังคนบาป พระองค์ทรงฟังคนที่อยู่ในทางพระเจ้าผู้ทำตามพระประสงค์ของพระองค์ 32ไม่เคยมีใครได้ยินถึงการรักษาคนตาบอดแต่กำเนิดให้มองเห็นได้ 33หากชายผู้นั้นไม่ได้มาจากพระเจ้า เขาย่อมไม่สามารถทำอะไรได้เลย”
34พวกนั้นตอบโต้เขาว่า “เจ้าจมปลักอยู่ในบาปมาตั้งแต่เกิด เจ้ากล้าดีอย่างไรมาสั่งสอนเรา!” แล้วอเปหิเขาจากธรรมศาลา

35พระเยซูทรงได้ยินว่าพวกนั้นได้อเปหิเขา เมื่อทรงพบเขาพระองค์จึงตรัสว่า “ท่านเชื่อในบุตรมนุษย์หรือไม่?”36ชายคนนั้นถามว่า “ท่านเจ้าข้า ใครคือบุตรมนุษย์? โปรดบอกเถิด ข้าพเจ้าจะได้เชื่อในพระองค์”
37พระเยซูตรัสว่า “บัดนี้ท่านก็ได้เห็นพระองค์แล้ว อันที่จริงพระองค์คือผู้ที่กำลังพูดกับท่าน”
38คนนั้นจึงทูลว่า “พระองค์เจ้าข้า ข้าพระองค์เชื่อ” และเขาก็กราบนมัสการพระองค์

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
