16เย็นวันนั้นเมื่อยาโคบกลับมาจากทุ่งนา เลอาห์ก็ออกไปพบและพูดว่า “ท่านต้องมานอนกับฉัน เพราะฉันเอาดูดาอิมของลูกเป็นสินจ้างแล้ว” คืนวันนั้นยาโคบก็นอนกับนาง
17พระเจ้าทรงฟังเลอาห์ นางก็ตั้งครรภ์และให้กำเนิดบุตรชายคนที่ห้า 18แล้วเลอาห์กล่าวว่า “พระเจ้าประทานรางวัลให้ฉันเพราะฉันได้ยกสาวใช้ให้สามี” ดังนั้นนางจึงตั้งชื่อเขาว่าอิสสาคาร์ ▼

ยาโคบตอบว่า “ไม่ต้องให้อะไรฉันหรอก ฉันจะเลี้ยงและดูแลฝูงสัตว์ให้ท่านต่อไป ถ้าท่านจะตกลงกับฉันสักอย่างหนึ่ง 32คือในวันนี้ให้ฉันออกไปสำรวจฝูงสัตว์ของท่านดู แล้วแยกแกะที่มีลายด่าง ลูกแกะสีคล้ำ และแพะที่มีลายด่างทุกตัวออกจากฝูง สัตว์เหล่านี้ถือเป็นค่าจ้างของฉัน 33และนี่จะเป็นพยานถึงความซื่อสัตย์ของฉันในอนาคต คือทุกครั้งที่ท่านตรวจดูค่าจ้างที่จ่ายให้ฉัน หากพบว่าแพะตัวใดในกรรมสิทธิ์ของฉันไม่มีลายด่าง หรือลูกแกะตัวใดไม่มีสีคล้ำก็ให้ถือว่าฉันขโมยมา”
34ลาบันตอบว่า “ตกลง ให้เป็นตามที่เจ้าว่าไว้” 35ในวันนั้นเองลาบันก็ออกไปคัดแพะทั้งตัวผู้และตัวเมียทุกตัวที่มีลายด่างออกมา (ทุกตัวที่มีสีขาวอยู่ด้วย) ตลอดจนลูกแกะสีคล้ำทุกตัวออกจากฝูง แล้วนำไปให้บรรดาบุตรชายของเขาเลี้ยง 36แล้วเขาให้ฝูงแพะแกะของเขากับของยาโคบอยู่ห่างกันเป็นระยะเวลาเดินทางสามวัน ในขณะที่ยาโคบยังเลี้ยงฝูงสัตว์ที่เหลือให้ลาบันต่อไป

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
