Jeremiah 8
1At sinabi pa ng Panginoon, “Sa mga panahong iyon, kukunin sa mga libingan ang mga buto ng mga hari, ng mga pinuno ng Juda, pati na ng mga pari, mga propeta, at mga mamamayan ng Jerusalem. 2Pagkatapos, ikakalat ito sa lupain na nakabilad sa init ng araw, sa liwanag ng buwan, at mga bituin na kanilang minahal, pinaglingkuran, sinunod, sinanggunian, at sinamba. Hindi na muling titipunin ang mga buto nila ni ililibing, kundi ikakalat sa lupa na parang dumi. 3Ang natitirang buhay sa masamang bansang ito ay ipapangalat ko sa ibang mga bansa, at doon ay gugustuhin pa nilang mamatay kaysa sa mabuhay. 4Sinabi sa akin ng Panginoon na sabihin ko ito sa mga tao: “Kapag nadapa ang tao, hindi baʼt muli siyang bumabangon? Kapag naligaw siya, hindi baʼt muli siyang bumabalik? 5Pero kayong mga taga-Jerusalem, bakit patuloy kayong lumalayo sa akin? Bakit ayaw ninyong iwanan ang mga dios-diosan na dumadaya sa inyo at magbalik sa akin? 6Pinakinggan kong mabuti ang mga sinabi nʼyo pero hindi tama ang mga ito. Walang sinuman sa inyo ang nagsisi sa inyong kasamaan. Wala man lang nagsabing, ‘Ano ba itong ginawa ko?’ Sa halip, ang bawat isa sa inyo ay naging mabilis sa paggawa ng kasalanan na parang kabayong papunta sa digmaan. 7Nalalaman ng tagak, ng kalapati at ng langay-langayan kung kailan sila lilipad patungo sa ibang lugar at kung kailan sila babalik, pero kayong mga hinirang ko ay hindi alam ang aking mga tuntunin. 8Paano ninyo nasasabing marunong kayo, dahil ba alam ninyo ang mga kautusan ng Panginoon? Ang totoo, binago iyon ng inyong mga guro. 9Mapapahiya ang mga nagsasabing sila ay marurunong. Matatakot sila dahil bibihagin sila. Itinakwil nila ang mga salita ko – gagawin ba nila ito kung talagang marunong sila? 10Kaya ibibigay ko sa iba ang mga asawa at mga bukirin nila. Sapagkat maging mga dakila man o mga dukha ay pare-parehong naging sakim sa pera, pati na ang mga propeta at mga pari. 11Hindi nila siniseryoso ang paggamot sa sugat ng mga mamamayan ko, kahit malubha na ito. Sinasabi nilang mabuti ang lahat kahit na hindi ito mabuti. 12Ikinakahiya ba nila ang mga ugali nilang kasuklam-suklam? Hindi! Sapagkat wala na silang kahihiyan! Ni hindi nga namumula ang kanilang mukha sa kahihiyan. Kaya ako, ang Panginoon, ay nagsasabing mapapahamak sila katulad ng iba. Ibabagsak sila pagdating ng araw na parurusahan sila. 13Lubos ko silang lilipulin at sisirain ko ang mga bunga ng kanilang mga ubas at igos; pati ang mga dahon nitoʼy malalanta. Ang mga ibinigay ko sa kanila ay mawawala.14“Pagkatapos, sasabihin nila, ‘Ano pa ang hinihintay natin? Halikayo, tumakas na tayo papunta sa mga napapaderang lungsod at doon na tayo mamatay. Sapagkat hinatulan na tayong mamatay ng Panginoon na ating Dios. Parang binigyan niya tayo ng tubig na may lason para inumin, dahil nagkasala tayo sa kanya. 15Naghintay tayo ng kapayapaan, pero walang dumating na kapayapaan. Naghintay tayo ng kabutihan, pero takot ang dumating. 16Ang singhal ng kabayo ng mga kaaway ay naririnig mula sa Dan. Sa mga halinghing pa lang ng mga kabayo nila, nanginginig na ang buong lupain. Dumating sila para wasakin ang lupaing ito at ang lahat ng naririto; ang mga lungsod at ang lahat ng mamamayan nito.’ ”
17Sinabi ng Panginoon, “Makinig kayo! Magpapadala ako ng mga kaaway na parang mga makamandag na ahas na hindi napapaamo ng kahit sino, at tutuklawin nila kayo.”
18 Pagkatapos, sinabi ni Jeremias: Hindi mapapawi ang kalungkutan ko. Nagdaramdam ang puso ko. 19Pakinggan nʼyo ang iyakan ng mga kababayan ko na naririnig sa buong lupain. Sinabi nila, “Wala na ba ang Panginoon sa Jerusalem? ▼
▼Jerusalem: sa Hebreo, Zion.
Wala na ba roon ang Dios na Hari ng Jerusalem?” Sumagot ang Panginoon, “Bakit nʼyo ako ginalit sa pamamagitan ng pagsamba nʼyo sa mga dios-diosang walang kabuluhan?” 20Sumagot ang mga tao, “Tapos na ang anihan, tapos na rin ang tag-araw, pero hindi pa kami naililigtas!” 21Nagdaramdam ako dahil sa nararanasang hirap ng mga kababayan ko. Nagluluksa ako at natitigilan. 22Wala na bang gamot sa Gilead? Wala na bang manggagamot doon? Bakit hindi gumagaling ang sugat ng mga kababayan ko?

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
