Ang Mensahe tungkol sa mga Bansa
1Ito ang sinabi ng Panginoon kay Jeremias tungkol sa mga bansa:2Ito ang mensahe laban sa mga sundalo ni Faraon Neco na hari ng Egipto:
Tinalo sila ni Haring Nebucadnezar ng Babilonia roon sa Carkemish malapit sa Ilog ng Eufrates, noong ikaapat na taon ng paghahari ni Jehoyakim na anak ni Haring Josia ng Juda:
3“Ihanda ninyo ang inyong mga kalasag at pumunta kayo sa digmaan! 4Ihanda rin ninyo ang inyong mga kabayong pandigma. Isuot ang inyong mga helmet, hasain ang inyong mga sibat, at isukbit ang inyong mga sandata. 5Pero ano itong nakita ko? Natatakot kayo at umuurong. Natalo kayo at mabilis na tumakas na hindi man lang lumilingon dahil sa takot. 6Malakas kayo at mabilis tumakbo pero hindi pa rin kayo makakatakas. Mabubuwal kayo at mamamatay malapit sa Ilog ng Eufrates.
7“Ano itong bansang naging makapangyarihan, na katulad ng Ilog ng Nilo na tumataas ang tubig at umaapaw hanggang sa pampang? 8Ito ay ang bansang Egipto, na naging makapangyarihan katulad ng Ilog ng Nilo na tumataas ang tubig at umaapaw hanggang sa pampang. Sinabi ng Egipto, ‘Naging makapangyarihan ako gaya ng baha na umapaw sa buong mundo. Wawasakin ko ang mga lungsod at ang mga mamamayan nito.’
9“Sige, mga taga-Egipto, patakbuhin na ninyo ang mga kabayo at karwahe ninyo! Sumalakay na kayo pati ang lahat ng kakampi ninyo na mula sa Etiopia, Put, at Lydia na bihasa sa paggamit ng mga kalasag at pana. 10Pero mananalo ang Panginoong Dios na Makapangyarihan sa digmaang ito. Maghihiganti siya sa mga kaaway niya sa araw na ito. Ang espada niyaʼy parang gutom na hayop na lalamon sa kanila at iinom ng dugo nila hanggang sa mabusog. Ang mga bangkay nilaʼy parang mga handog sa Panginoong Dios na Makapangyarihan doon sa lupain sa hilaga malapit sa Ilog ng Eufrates.
11“O mga taga-Egipto, kahit na pumunta pa kayo sa Gilead para maghanap ng panlunas na gamot, ang lahat ng gamot ay wala nang bisa at hindi na makapagpapagaling sa inyo. 12Mababalitaan ng mga bansa sa buong daigdig ang kahihiyan at pagtangis ninyo. Mabubuwal ang inyong mga sundalo nang patung-patong.”
13Ito ang sinabi ng Panginoon kay Propeta Jeremias tungkol sa pagsalakay ni Haring Nebucadnezar ng Babilonia sa Egipto:
14“Jeremias ipahayag ito sa Egipto, Migdol, Memfis at Tapanhes: Humanda na kayo dahil nakahanda na ang espada para lipulin kayo. 15Bakit tumakas ang matatapang nʼyong kawal? ▼
▼matatapang nʼyong kawal: o, makapangyarihang dios na si Apis.
Tumakas sila dahil itinaboy sila ng Panginoon. 16Patung-patong na mabubuwal ang inyong mga sundalo. Sasabihin nila, ‘Bumangon tayo at umuwi sa lupaing sinilangan natin, sa mga kababayan natin, para makaiwas tayo sa espada ng mga kaaway natin.’ 17Sasabihin din nila, ‘Ang Faraon na hari ng Egipto ay magaling lang sa salita, at sinasayang lang niya ang mga pagkakataon.’ 18“Ako, ang buhay na Hari, ang Panginoong Makapangyarihan, isinusumpa kong mayroong sasalakay sa Egipto na nakahihigit sa kanya, katulad ng Bundok ng Tabor sa gitna ng mga kabundukan o ng Bundok ng Carmel sa tabi ng dagat. 19Kayong mga mamamayan ng Egipto, ihanda na ninyo ang inyong mga dala-dalahan dahil bibihagin kayo. Mawawasak ang Memfis, magiging mapanglaw ito at wala ng maninirahan dito. 20Ang Egipto ay parang dumalagang baka, pero may insektong mula sa hilaga na sasalakay sa kanya. 21Pati ang mga upahang sundalo niya ay uurong at tatakas. Para silang mga guyang pinataba para katayin. Mangyayari ito dahil panahon na para parusahan at wasakin ang mga taga-Egipto. 22Tatakas ang mga taga-Egipto na parang ahas na mabilis na tumatalilis habang sumasalakay ang mga kaaway. Sasalakay ang mga kaaway na may dalang mga palakol na katulad ng taong namumutol ng punongkahoy. 23Papatayin nila ang mga taga-Egipto na parang pumuputol lang ng mayayabong na mga punongkahoy. Ang mga kaaway na itoʼy mas marami kaysa sa balang na hindi mabilang. 24Mapapahiya ang mga taga-Egipto. Ibibigay sila sa mga taga-hilaga.”
25Patuloy pang sinabi ng Panginoong Makapangyarihan, ang Dios ng Israel, “Parurusahan ko na si Ammon, ang dios-diosan ng Tebes, at ang iba pang mga dios-diosan ng Egipto. Parurusahan ko rin ang Faraon pati ang mga tagapamahala niya, at ang mga nagtitiwala sa kanya. 26Ibibigay ko sila sa kamay ng mga gustong pumatay sa kanila – kay Haring Nebucadnezar ng Babilonia at sa mga pinuno nito. Pero darating din ang araw na ang Egipto ay tatahanan ng mga tao katulad noong una. Ako, ang Panginoon, ang nagsasabi nito.
27“Pero kayong mga taga-Israel na lahi ng lingkod ko na si Jacob, huwag kayong manlulupaypay o matatakot. Sapagkat ililigtas ko kayo mula sa malayong lugar kung saan kayo binihag. Muli kayong mamumuhay nang payapa at walang anumang panganib, at walang sinumang mananakot pa sa inyo. 28Kaya huwag kayong matakot, kayong mga lahi ng lingkod kong si Jacob, dahil kasama ninyo ako. Wawasakin ko nang lubusan ang mga bansang pinangalatan ko sa inyo, pero hindi ko kayo wawasakin nang lubusan. Parurusahan ko kayo nang nararapat. Hindi maaaring hindi ko kayo parusahan. Ako, ang Panginoon, ang nagsabi nito.”

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
