Si David at si Ziba
1Kalalampas pa lang nang kaunti ni David sa ibabaw ng bundok nang salubungin siya ni Ziba na katiwala ni Mefiboset. May dalawa itong asno na may kargang 200 tinapay, 100 kumpol ng ubas, 100 piraso ng hinog na prutas, ▼▼prutas: Marahil igos o ibang prutas.
at katas ng ubas na nakalagay sa balat na sisidlan. 2Tinanong ni David si Ziba, “Bakit nagdala ka ng mga iyan?” Sumagot si Ziba, “Ang mga asno po ay para sakyan ng sambahayan nʼyo, ang mga tinapay naman at prutas ay para kainin nʼyo at ng mga kasama ninyo, at ang katas ng ubas ay para naman inumin nʼyo kapag napagod kayo sa disyerto.” 3Nagtanong si David, “Nasaan na si Mefiboset, ang apo ng amo mong si Saul?” Sumagot si Ziba, “Nagpaiwan po siya sa Jerusalem, dahil iniisip niyang gagawin siyang hari ngayon ng mga Israelita sa kaharian ng lolo niyang si Saul.” 4Sinabi ni David, “Kung ganoon, ibinibigay ko na sa iyo ngayon ang lahat ng ari-arian ni Mefiboset.” Sinabi ni Ziba, “Mahal na Hari, handa po akong sumunod sa inyo. Malugod sana kayo sa akin.” Sinumpa ni Shimei si David
5Nang papalapit na si Haring David sa Bahurim, may taong lumabas sa bayang iyon at isinumpa si David. Ang taong ito ay si Shimei na anak ni Gera at kamag-anak ni Saul. 6Binato niya si David at ang mga opisyal nito kahit na napapaligiran si David ng mga tauhan at mga personal niyang tagapagbantay. 7Ito ang sinabi niya kay David: “Huwag kang papasok sa bayan namin, mamamatay-tao at masamang tao ka! 8Ginagantihan ka ng Panginoon sa pagpatay mo kay Saul at sa sambahayan niya. Kinuha mo ang kanyang trono, pero ngayon, ibinigay ito ng Panginoon sa anak mong si Absalom. Bumagsak ka dahil mamamatay-tao ka!”9Sinabi ni Abishai na anak ni Zeruya sa hari, “Mahal na Hari, bakit nʼyo po pinapabayaang sumpain kayo ng taong iyan na tulad lang ng patay na aso? Payagan nʼyo po akong pugutan siya ng ulo.” 10Pero sinabi ng hari, “Kayong mga anak ni Zeruya, wala kayong pakialam dito! Kung inutusan siya ng Panginoong sumpain ako, sino ako para pigilan siya?” 11Sinabi ni David kay Abishai at sa lahat ng opisyal niya, “Kung ang anak ko nga ay binabalak akong patayin, paano pa kaya itong kamag-anak ni Saul? ▼

Inutusan siya ng Panginoon kaya hayaan nʼyo na lang siya. 12Baka makita ng Panginoon ang paghihirap ko, at gantihan niya ng kabutihan ang kasamaang nararanasan ko ngayon.” 13Kaya nagpatuloy sa paglakad sina David at ang mga tauhan niya. Sinusundan din sila ni Shimei, pero sa gilid ng burol lang siya dumadaan. Habang naglalakad siya, isinusumpa niya si David at hinahagisan ng bato at lupa. 14Napagod sina David at ang mga tauhan niya kaya nagpahinga sila pagdating nila sa Ilog ng Jordan. ▼▼sa Ilog ng Jordan: Wala ito sa Hebreo, pero makikita sa tekstong Griego.
Nakipagkita si Hushai kay Absalom
15Samantala, dumating sa Jerusalem sina Absalom, Ahitofel at ang iba pang mga Israelita. 16Dumating din doon si Hushai na Arkeo, na kaibigan ni David. Pumunta siya kay Absalom at sinabi, “Mabuhay ang hari! Mabuhay ang hari!” 17Tinanong ni Absalom si Hushai, “Nasaan na ang katapatan mo sa kaibigan mo na si David? Bakit hindi ka sumama sa kanya?” 18Sumagot si Hushai, “Hindi! Sa inyo po ako sasama dahil kayo ang pinili ng Panginoon at ng buong mamamayan ng Israel na maging hari. 19Bukod pa riyan, sino pa ba ang pagsisilbihan ko, kundi kayo na anak ni David. Naglingkod ako noon sa ama nʼyo, ngayon, kayo naman ang paglilingkuran ko.”Ang Payo ni Ahitofel kay Absalom
20Sinabi ni Absalom kay Ahitofel, “Ngayon, ano ang maipapayo mong gawin natin?” 21Sumagot si Ahitofel, “Sipingan nʼyo ang mga asawang alipin ng inyong ama na kanyang iniwan para asikasuhin ang palasyo. At malalaman ng buong Israel na ginalit nʼyo nang labis ang inyong ama at lalakas pa lalo ang suporta ng mga tauhan nʼyo sa inyo.” 22Kaya nagpatayo sila ng tolda sa bubungan ng palasyo para kay Absalom, at nakikita ng buong Israel na pumapasok siya roon para sumiping sa mga asawa ng kanyang ama.23Nang mga panahong iyon, sinusunod ni Absalom ang mga payo ni Ahitofel, gaya ng ginawa ni David. Dahil ipinapalagay nilang galing sa Dios ang bawat payong ibinibigay ni Ahitofel.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
