Ang Pagkakasakit ni Hezekia
(2 Cro. 32:24-26; Isa. 38:1-8, 21-22)
1Nang panahong iyon, nagkasakit si Hezekia na halos ikamatay niya. Pumunta sa kanya si Propeta Isaias na anak ni Amoz at sinabi, “Sinabi ng Panginoon na magbilin ka na sa sambahayan mo dahil hindi ka na gagaling; mamamatay ka na.” 2Nang marinig ito ni Hezekia, humarap siya sa dingding at nanalangin sa Panginoon. 3Sinabi niya, “Panginoon, alalahanin po ninyo kung papaano ako namuhay nang tapat at buong pusong naglingkod sa inyo at kung papaano ako gumawa ng mabuti sa paningin ninyo.” At umiyak siya nang husto.4Nang hindi pa nakakaalis si Isaias sa gitna ng bulwagan ng palasyo, sinabi sa kanya ng Panginoon, 5“Bumalik ka kay Hezekia, na pinuno ng mga mamamayan ko at sabihin mo ito: ‘Ito ang sinasabi ng Panginoon, ang Dios ng ninuno mong si David: Narinig ko ang panalangin mo at nakita ko ang mga luha mo kaya pagagalingin kita. Sa ikatlong araw mula ngayon, makakabangon ka na at makakapunta ka sa templo ng Panginoon. 6Dadagdagan ko pa ng 15 taon ang buhay mo. Ililigtas kita at ang lungsod na ito sa kamay ng hari ng Asiria. Iingatan ko ang lungsod na ito para sa karangalan ko at dahil kay David na aking lingkod.’ ” 7Sinabi ni Isaias sa mga utusan ni Haring Hezekia na tapalan nila ang namamagang bukol nito ng dinurog na igos. Ginawa nga nila ito at gumaling siya.
8 Noong hindi pa gumagaling si Hezekia, nagtanong siya kay Isaias, “Ano ba ang magpapatunay na gagaling ako at makakapunta sa templo ng Panginoon sa ikatlong araw mula ngayon?” 9Sumagot si Isaias, “Ito ang tanda na ibibigay ng Panginoon na magpapatunay na tutuparin niya ang pangako niya. Pumili ka sa dalawang ito: Aatras ng sampung hakbang ang anino ng araw sa orasan ▼

o aabante ng sampung hakbang?” 10Sumagot si Hezekia, “Mas madaling umabante ng sampung hakbang ang anino, kaya paatrasin mo na lang ito ng sampung hakbang!” 11Kaya nanalangin si Isaias sa Panginoon at pinaatras ng Panginoon ng sampung hakbang ang anino ng araw sa orasan na ipinagawa ni Ahaz. 12Nang panahong iyon, nabalitaan ni Merodac Baladan na anak ni Haring Baladan ng Babilonia na nagkasakit si Hezekia. Kaya nagpadala siya ng mga sulat at regalo kay Hezekia. 13Malugod na tinanggap ni Hezekia ang mga sugo, at ipinakita niya sa mga ito ang lahat ng mga bagay sa taguan ng kayamanan niya – ang mga pilak, ginto, sangkap, magagandang uri ng langis, mga armas at ang iba pa niyang mga kayamanan. Wala ni isang bagay sa palasyo o kaharian ang hindi niya ipinakita sa kanila.14Samantala, pumunta si Propeta Isaias kay Haring Hezekia at nagtanong, “Saan ba nanggaling ang mga taong iyan at ano ang kailangan nila?” Sumagot si Hezekia, “Nanggaling sila sa malayong lugar, sa Babilonia.” 15Nagtanong pa ang propeta, “Ano ang nakita nila sa palasyo mo?” Sumagot si Hezekia, “Nakita nila ang lahat ng bagay sa palasyo ko. Wala kahit isa sa mga kayamanan ko ang hindi ko ipinakita sa kanila.” 16Pagkatapos, sinabi ni Isaias kay Hezekia, “Pakinggan mo ang mensahe ng Panginoon: 17Darating ang panahon na dadalhin sa Babilonia ang lahat ng kayamanan sa palasyo mo, pati ang lahat ng naipon ng mga ninuno mo na nariyan pa hanggang ngayon. Walang matitira, sabi ng Panginoon. 18At ang iba sa mga susunod na lahi mo ay bibihagin at magiging alipin sa palasyo ng hari ng Babilonia.” 19Ang akala ni Hezekia ay hindi pa mangyayari iyon, kundi magiging mapayapa at walang panganib sa kapanahunan niya. Kaya sinabi niya kay Isaias, “Maganda ang mensaheng iyon ng Panginoon na sinabi mo sa akin.”

20Ang iba pang salaysay tungkol sa paghahari ni Hezekia, at lahat ng ginawa niya at pagtatagumpay, pati ang pagpapagawa niya ng imbakan ng tubig at dinadaluyan nito papunta sa lungsod ay nakasulat sa Aklat ng Kasaysayan ng mga hari ng Juda.21Nang mamatay si Hezekia, ang anak niyang si Manase ang pumalit sa kanya bilang hari.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
