1Juda barnas slägtes lott, efter deras ätter, var in emot Edoms landsändar, vid den öknen Zin, som söderut stöter inpå söderlanden; 2Så att deras södergränsor voro ifrån ändanom af salthafvet, det är, ifrå den tungone som drager söderåt; 3Och går dädan uppåt Akrabbim, och går igenom Zin, och går uppåt ifrå sunnan intill KadesBarnea; och går igenom Hezron, och går uppåt Adar, och böjer sig omkring Karkaa; 4Och går igenom Azmon, och kommer ut vid Egypti bäck, så att änden af den gränson varder hafvet. Detta äro nu edra gränsor söderut. 5Men östergränsen är salthafvet intill Jordans ända. Den norra gränsan är ifrå hafsens tungo, som är vid Jordan; 6Och går uppåt intill BethHogla, och drager sig ifrå nordan intill BethAraba, och går uppåt till Bohans sten, Rubens sons; 7Och går uppåt till Debir ifrån Achors dal, och ifrå norra sidone, som vet åt Gilgal, det tvärtöfver ligger vid Adummim uppåt, hvilket sunnantill ligger vid bäcken; sedan går hon uppåt till det vattnet EnSemes, och går ut vid den brunnen Rogel. 8Sedan går hon uppåt till Hinnoms sons dal, vid den Jebuseens sido, som bor söderut, det är Jerusalem; och går uppåt öfver bergsklinten, som ligger för den dalen Hinnom vesterut, hvilken stöter inpå sidona af Rephaims dal norrut. 9Sedan går hon ifrå den samma bergsklinten, intill den vattubrunnen Nephtoah, och går ut till de städer vid Ephrons berg, och böjer sig åt Baala, det är KiriathJearim; 10Och går omkring ifrå Baala vesterut intill berget Seir, och går utmed sidone af det berget Jearim ifrå nordan, det är Chesalon, och kommer neder till BethSemes, och går igenom Thimna; 11Och kommer ut vid sidona af Ekron norrut, och drager sig inåt Sichron, och går öfver det berget Baala, och kommer ut vid Jabneel; så att hennes yttersta är hafvet. 12Den gränsan vesterut är det stora hafvet. Detta är nu Juda barnas gränsor allt omkring i deras ätter. 13Men Caleb, Jephunne son, vardt gifvet hans del ibland Juda barn, efter som Herren hade befallt Josua; nämliga KiriathArba, Enaks faders, det är Hebron. 14Och Caleb fördref dädan de tre Enaks söner, Sesai, Ahiman och Thalmai, Enaks afföda; 15Och drog dädan uppåt till Debirs inbyggare; och Debir het tillförene KiriathSepher. 16Och Caleb sade: Den som slår KiriathSepher, och vinner det, honom vill jag gifva mina dotter Achsa till hustru. 17Då vann det Athniel, Kenas son, Calebs broders; och han gaf honom sina dotter Achsa till hustru. 18Och det begaf sig, då hon indrog, vardt henne rådet, att bedas en åker af sinom fader; och hon gaf sig ifrån åsnan. Då sade Caleb till henne: Hvad är dig? 19Hon sade: Gif mig en välsignelse; ty du hafver gifvit mig ett söderland, gif mig ock vattukällor; så gaf han henne källor ofvan och nedan. 20Detta är nu Juda slägtes arfvedel i deras ätter. 21Och Juda barnas slägtes städer ifrå den ena sidone till den andra, utmed de Edomeers gränsor söderut, voro desse: Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur, 22Kina, Dimona, AdAda, 23Kedes, Hazor, Jithnan, 24Siph, Telem, Bealoth, 25HazorHadatta, Kerioth, Hezron, det är Hazor, 26Aman, Sema, Molada, 27HazarGadda, Hesmon, BethPalet, 28HazarSual, BerSeba, Bisjothja, 29Baala, Jjim, Azem, 30Eltholad, Chesil, Horma, 31Ziklag, Madmanna, Sansanna, 32Lebaoth, Silhim, Ain, Rimmon. Det äro nio och tjugu städer, och deras byar. 33Men i dalarna voro Esthaol, Zorga, Asna, 34Sanoah, EnGannim, Tappuah, Enam, 35Jarmuth, Adullam, Socho, Aseka, 36Saaraim, Adithaim, Gedera, Gederothaim. Det äro fjorton städer, och deras byar. 37Zenan, Hadasa, MigdalGad, 38Dilean, Mizpe, Joktheel, 39Lachis, Bozkath, Eglon, 40Chabbon, Lahmas, Cithlis, 41Gederoth, BethDagon, Naama, Makkeda. Det äro sexton städer, och deras byar. 42Libna, Ether, Asan, 43Jiphthah, Asna, Nesib, 44Kegila, Achsib, Maresa. Det äro nio städer, och deras byar. 45Ekron med dess döttrar och byar. 46Ifrån Ekron och intill hafvet, allt det som räcker intill Asdod, och dess byar. 47Asdod med dess döttrar och byar, Gaza med dess döttrar och byar intill Egypti bäck, och det stora hafvet är gränsan. 48Men uppå berget var Samir, Jathir, Socho, 49Danna, KiriathSanna, det är Debir, 50Anab, Estemo, Anim, 51Gosen, Holon, Gilo. Det äro ellofva städer, och deras byar. 52Arab, Duma, Esean, 53Janum, BethTappuah, Apheka, 54Humta, KiriathArba, det är Hebron, Zior. Det äro nio städer, och deras byar. 55Maon, Carmel, Siph, Jutta, 56Jesreel, Jokedam, Sanoah, 57Kain, Gibea, Thimna. Det äro tio städer, och deras byar. 58Halhul, Bethzur, Gedor, 59Maarath, BethAnoth, Elthekon. Det äro sex städer, och deras byar. 60KiriathBaal, det är KiriathJearim, Rabba; två städer, och deras byar. 61Men i öknene voro, BethAraba, Middin, Sechacha, 62Nibsan, och den saltstaden, och EnGedi. Det äro sex städer, och deras byar. 63Men de Jebuseer bodde i Jerusalem, och Juda barn kunde icke fördrifva dem; alltså blefvo de Jebuseer med Juda barnom i Jerusalem allt intill denna dag.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
