Meje Božjega zakona
1Saj veste, dragi bratje – govorim vam, ki poznate Božji zakon – da zakon velja samo toliko časa za nas, dokler živimo. 2Kaj pa to pomeni? Poročeno ženo zakon veže za njenega moža toliko časa, dokler živi. Če mož umre, je svobodna in se lahko spet poroči. 3V kolikor bi ta žena imela drugega moža, dokler bi njen mož še živel, bi bila kriva zakonolomstva. Po smrti svojega moža pa je prosta dolžnosti, ki jih predpisuje zakon o zakonski zvezi. Nihče je ne bo dolžil zakonolomstva, če se kot vdova poroči z drugim moškim. 4V enakem položaju ste tudi vi. Včasih je bil judovski zakon vaš mož, vaš gospodar, toda s Kristusom ste umrli na križu in ker ste zdaj mrtvi, niste več poročeni z zakonom. Le-ta nad vami nima več nobene moči. S Kristusom ste vstali v novo življenje in zdaj ste novi ljudje. Tako rekoč ste poročeni z njim, ki je vstal od mrtvih in lahko služite Bogu in delate to, kar je dobro. 5Ko še nismo poznali Kristusa ▼▼V izvirniku: ko smo bili v mesu.
, smo bili prepuščeni oblasti greha in naše strasti so nam gospodovale. Zakon je v nas prebudil greh, tako da smo delali tisto, kar vodi v smrt. ▼▼V izvirniku: so delovale grešne strasti … da obrode sad smrti.
6Zdaj pa se vam več ni treba vznemirjati zaradi judovskih zakonov in običajev, kajti zanje ste mrtvi ter lahko služite Bogu in to ne na star način, ko ste slepo izpolnjevali celo vrsto predpisov, ampak na nov način, s celim srcem. Človek in Božji zakon
7Ali naj bi to zdaj pomenilo, da je Božji zakon slab? Nikakor! Vendar kljub temu drži, da brez Božjega zakona ne bi vedel, kaj je greh. Če ne bi pisalo: “Ne poželi … ” ▼▼Primer: 2. Mojzesova 20,17.
ne bi vedel, da so moje strasti greh. 8Greh pa je uporabil to zapoved v zakonu, da bi v meni prebudil vsakovrstne strasti. Zaradi greha me namreč vse, kar je prepovedano, še prav posebej privlači. Brez zakona tudi ne bi vedel, kakšno moč ima v meni greh. ▼▼Dobesedno: greh brez postave je mrtev.
9Nekdaj sem živel brez Božjega zakona. Zato sem tudi mislil, da sem dober, ker nisem vedel, kaj zakon zahteva. Ko pa sem izvedel resnico, sem uvidel, da sem v mnogočem prestopil zakon in da sem grešnik, obsojen na smrt. 10Z mano se je torej zgodilo tako, da je Božji zakon, ki naj bi mi pokazal pot življenja, storil, da sem bil obsojen na smrt. 11Greh me je prevaral, tako da je uporabil dobri Božji zakon, na osnovi katerega sem spoznal, da sem prestopnik, ki je vreden smrti. 12Vendar morate razumeti, da je bil zakon sam po sebi še vedno povsem pravičen in dober. 13Le kako more temu biti tako? Ali ni zakon vzrok, da sem bil obsojen na smrt? Kako naj bi bil potemtakem dober? Ne, ampak greh, tako zahrbten kot je, je uporabil to, kar je dobro, da bi mi prinesel smrt. 14Zakon je dober. ▼

pod oblastjo greha. 15Saj sam ne vem, kaj delam. V resnici bi rad delal to, kar je dobro, pa ne morem. Ne delam tega, kar hočem, ampak tisto, kar sovražim. 16Dobro vem, da je narobe to, kar delam in prav dejstvo, da imam zaradi tega slabo vest, dokazuje, da priznavam te zakone, ki jih kršim. 17Toda ne morem si pomagati, saj nisem jaz tisti, ki to dela. Greh v meni, ki je močnejši od mene, me sili, da delam to, kar je hudo. Greh gospoduje
18Vem, da človek po svoji naravi ni dober. Zato ne bom nikoli mogel delati tega, kar je dobro, če si še tako prizadevam. 19Vedno znova hočem delati to, kar je dobro, pa vendar delam, kar je slabo; gnusi se mi to, kar je hudobno, pa kljub temu prav to delam. 20Če torej vedno ravnam v nasprotju s tem, kar hočem, je jasno, da je greh v meni tisti, ki me zavaja. 21Moje izkušnje so vedno enake: dobro želim delati, delam pa to, kar je hudobno. 22Nimam večje želje od te, da bi izpolnil Božji zakon. 23Kljub temu pa se ravnam po nekem drugem zakonu, ki prebiva v meni. To nasprotje med mojim dobrim namenom in nasprotnim ravnanjem dokazuje, da me ima greh kot ujetnika. 24Zdaj vidite, kako je s to stvarjo. Moj dobri namen je delati to, kar je prav, stara narava pa, ki je še vedno v meni, ljubi greh. Kako strašna je situacija, v kateri se nahajam! Kdo me more osvoboditi sužnjevanja tej smrtni, hudobni naravi? 25Vsa čast pripada Bogu! To je storil Jezus Kristus, naš Gospod. On me je osvobodil. Takole ugotavljam: v svoji notranjosti sicer soglašam z Božjim zakonom, s svojimi dejanji pa se ravnam po zakonu greha.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
