Prednosti, ki jih imajo Judje
1Kakšna prednost je torej v tem, da si Jud in kaj ti koristi judovski obred, ki se imenuje obreza? 2Vsekakor ima to prednosti! Bog je svoj zakon najprej dal Judom, da bi vedeli, kaj je njegova volja ter po njej živeli. 3Res je, da so nekateri zlorabili njegovo zaupanje. Vendar Bog zaradi tega nikakor ne bo prelomil svojih obljub, ki jih je dal tistim, ki ga ljubijo. 4Nikakor! Tudi če bi vsi na tem svetu lagali, Bog ne laže. ▼▼V izvirniku: se bo izkazal resničnega.
Ali se spominjate, kaj piše v Svetem pismu o tem: “Tvoje besede, Gospod, se bodo izkazale resnične in ti boš zmagal, ko te bodo sodili.” ▼▼Psalm 51,6.
5“Ali ni tako,” sprašujejo nekateri ljudje, “da je dobro, če smo neposlušni Bogu, kajti Božja dobrota pride mnogo bolj do veljave, ko ljudje vidijo našo hudobnost?” Če bi bilo temu tako, ne bi bilo prav, da nas Bog kaznuje zaradi naših grehov. 6Bog ne daj! Kakšen bi sploh bil Bog, če bi lahko spregledal naše grehe? Kako bi le mogel v tem primeru biti nam ljudem sodnik? 7Vendar se znova vprašajmo: Kako naj bi nam Bog sodil in nas obsodil kot grešnike, če se šele zaradi naših laži njegova resnica lahko vidi v vsej svoji veličini? 8Če mislimo tako, pridemo do naslednjega zaključka: Brez skrbi delajmo, kar je hudobno, ker bo na koncu vendarle iz tega prišlo nekaj dobrega?! Prav je, da tisti, ki govorijo tako, prejmejo zasluženo kazen. Pa vendar nekateri trdijo, da je to tisto, kar jaz oznanjujem. Pred Bogom so vsi ljudje krivi
9Ali smo mi Judje boljši od drugih ljudi? Pravim: Ne! Saj sem pravkar pokazal, da vsi ljudje, bodisi da so Judje ali ne ▼▼V izvirniku: Grki.
delajo krivico in greh jim gospoduje. 10To trdi tudi Sveto pismo:“Nikogar ni, še enega ne, ki bi bil brez greha. ▼

12Vsi so se obrnili od Boga,
vsi so krenili po napačni poti.

13Njihove besede so umazane in pokvarjene. ▼

Vse njihovo govorjenje je zlagano ter hudobno in prinaša smrt, kakor kačji strup. ▼

18ker nimajo Božjega strahu.” ▼

19Vemo, da te besede veljajo prav za tiste, ki imajo Božji zakon. Zato se nihče ne more izgovoriti, tudi oni ne. Vsi ljudje na svetu so pred Bogom krivi. 20Ali je zdaj to jasno? Nihče ne more nikdar doseči tega, da bi bil pravičen v Božjih očeh na osnovi izpolnjevanja Božjih zapovedi. Bolj ko namreč spoznavamo Božje zakone, jasneje vidimo, da jih ne izpolnjujemo. Njegovi zakoni nam samo pomagajo, da vidimo, da smo grešniki.
Koga Bog osvobaja krivice?
21Zdaj pa je Bog posegel vmes in nam pokazal, kako smo kljub temu lahko pred njim pravični. Božji sodbi, ki smo jo zaslužili, ne moremo ubežati tako, da poskušamo izpolnjevati njegove zapovedi in biti dobri, ampak je tu druga pot. To je pot, o kateri govori Sveto pismo. 22Bog namreč pravi, da nas bo sprejel in opravičil – proglasil nas bo za nedolžne – če verujemo, da je Jezus Kristus odvzel naše grehe. Vse nas želi opravičiti na enak način, tako da pridemo h Kristusu. Sploh ni pomembno, kdo smo in kakšni smo bili. 23V tem so namreč vsi ljudje enaki: Vsi so grešniki in nimajo te podobnosti Bogu, ki so jo imeli, ko jih je Bog ustvaril. ▼▼V izvirniku: Vsi so izgubili Božjo slavo.
24Zdaj pa nam Bog ponuja nekaj, česar nismo zaslužili: Sprejema nas, ker nas je Jezus Kristus odkupil. 25Da bi poravnal našo krivico, je Bog dovolil, da je njegov Sin na križu izkrvavel za nas. Kristusova kri in naša vera – to je sredstvo, ki nas rešuje Božje jeze. Na ta način je Bog hotel pokazati svojo pravičnost, kajti v preteklosti je dopustil, da so grehi ostali nekaznovani. Gledal je namreč naprej na tisti čas, ko bo prišel Kristus 26in odvzel tudi te grehe. Bog je hotel pokazati svojo pravičnost v sedanjem času, tako da bi bil pravičen in tisti, ki opravičuje te, ki verujejo v Jezusa Kristusa. 27Ali nam potem ne ostaja ničesar, da bi se lahko pred Bogom pohvalili? Ne, prav ničesar! Kako pa vemo to? Tako, ker nismo opravičeni zaradi naših dobrih del, ampak zaradi tega, kar je Kristus storil za nas in zaradi vere vanj, ki nam je bila podarjena. ▼

28Torej smo rešeni po veri v Kristusa in ne zaradi naših dobrih del. 29Ali Bog rešuje na ta način samo Jude, ker je Bog Judov? Ali pa velja rešitev tudi za druge narode? ▼▼V izvirniku: za pogane.
Seveda velja to tudi za vse ostale, kajti Bog je eden za vse ljudi. 30On osvobaja Jude kakor tudi tiste, ki niso Judje, če verujejo v Jezusa, njihovih krivic in jim omogoča novo življenje z Bogom. ▼▼V izvirniku: Bog opraviči obrezo iz vere in neobrezo po veri.
31Če pa smo rešeni po veri, ali to pomeni, da nam več ni treba ravnati po Božjem zakonu? Prav nasprotno! Saj smo šele tedaj lahko resnično poslušni Bogu, če verujemo Jezusu.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
