Ali je Bog zavrgel svoje ljudstvo?
1Zdaj pa vas vprašam: Ali Bog noče več vedeti za svoje ljudstvo? O tem sploh ni govora! Saj sem tudi jaz Izraelec, Abrahamov potomec, iz Benjaminovega rodu. 2Kako bi mogel Bog zavreči svoje ljudstvo, ki ga je nekoč izvolil? Ali ste pozabili, kako se je Elija pritoževal Bogu nad Izraelom? 3“Gospod!” je tožil, “pobili so vse tvoje preroke in porušili tvoje oltarje. V vsej deželi sem edini, ki sem ostal pri življenju, zdaj pa poskušajo umoriti še mene!” ▼▼1. Kraljev 19,10.
4Kaj mu je Bog tedaj odgovoril? “Ne, nisi edini. Poleg tebe sem ohranil še sedem tisoč drugih, ki me ljubijo in se niso priklonili maliku Baalu.” ▼▼1. Kraljev 19,18.
5Tako je bilo takrat in tako je tudi še danes. V svojem usmiljenju in po svoji milosti je Bog rešil del izraelskega ljudstva. 6Če pa se je to zgodilo po milosti, niso tu nič doprinesla njihova prizadevanja. Sicer ne bi bilo po milosti. 7Kaj pomeni to? To pomeni, da Izrael ni dosegel tega, za kar si je prizadeval z vsemi svojimi močmi. Bog je to podaril samo majhnemu delu svojega ljudstva in to tistim, ki jih je on izbral. Vsi ostali pa so gluhi za Božjo besedo. 8O teh pravi Sveto pismo:“Kakor omrtveli so. ▼

Z očmi ničesar ne vidijo in z ušesi ničesar ne slišijo –
tako je vse do današnjega dne.” ▼

9Tudi kralj David pravi:
“Njihovo bogoslužje naj bo služba malikom;
kot past naj bo, v katero se bodo sami ujeli,
da bi čakali na Božjo kazen. ▼

10Njihove oči naj oslepijo,
da ne bi več mogli videti
in svoj hrbet naj za vselej
upognejo pod bremenom zakona.” ▼

Svarilo pred prevzetnostjo
11Ali je Bog namenoma pustil to ljudstvo, da je padlo, ker se je hotel dokončno obrniti od njih? Nikoli in nikdar! Neposlušnost izraelskega ljudstva je utrla pot drugim narodom, da so lahko slišali radostno novico. Izrael pa naj bi zdaj storil po njihovem zgledu. 12Če pomislimo, kakšen blagoslov je prineslo drugim narodom to, da so Izraelci odklonili Božji dar, koliko večji bo blagoslov zanje šele, ko bo ves Izrael sprejel Kristusa.13Vam, ki niste Judje, bi rad dejal: Veselim se, da me je Bog poslal prav k vam, da vam oznanim radostno novico. 14Morda se bo tako prebudila vera tudi pri nekaterih izmed mojega ljudstva in se bodo tako vendarle rešili. ▼

15Če so se ljudstva pomirila z Bogom, ko se je Izrael obrnil od njega, kako čudovito bo šele, ko se bo Bog obrnil k svojemu ljudstvu. Tedaj bodo mrtvi vstali v življenje. 16Ker so Abraham in preroki Božje ljudstvo, bodo to tudi njihovi otroci. Če so namreč dobre ▼▼V izvirniku: svete
korenine drevesa, bodo vsekakor dobre tudi veje. 17Nekatere veje na drevesu – govorim o Božjem izbranem ljudstvu – so odlomljene. Namesto njih ste bili vcepljeni vi kot veje divje oljke, da bi živeli od korenin in sokov plemenite oljke. 18Ne domišljajte pa si zdaj, da ste boljši od odlomljenih vej! Ne nosite namreč vi korenin, ampak korenine nosijo vas. 19Seveda lahko nekdo ugovarja: “Veje je odlomil zato, da bi imeli vi prostora.” 20To že drži, bili so odlomljeni, ker niso verovali. Vi pa ste prišli na njihovo mesto, ker verujete. Ne bodite zaradi tega ponosni, ampak se varujte, ▼▼V izvirniku: ampak se bojte.
da se z vami ne bi zgodilo enako. 21Kajti če Bog ni prizanesel vejam plemenite oljke, bo še manj prizanesel vam. 22Dvoje lahko prepoznate v tem: Božjo dobroto in Božjo strogost. Božjo strogost vidite na tistih, ki so odpadli od njega; njegovo dobroto pa doživljate, dokler verujete. Sicer bi tudi vas odlomil kot tiste veje. 23Nasprotno pa bodo spet vcepljeni vsi iz izraelskega ljudstva, ki več ne ostajajo v svoji neveri. Bog more to storiti. 24Saj je tudi lahko vcepil veje divje oljke na plemenito oljko, kar nihče drug ne bi mogel storiti. Koliko bolj želi Bog spet vcepiti odlomljene veje na oljko, kjer so prvotno tudi bile. Bog drži svoje obljube
25Da ne bi postali prevzetni, dragi bratje, bi vam rad zaupal, kar mi je Bog razodel. Del izraelskega ljudstva je sicer slep za oznanilo Jezusa Kristusa. Pri tem pa bo ostalo samo toliko časa, dokler ne bodo druga ljudstva, ki jih je Bog predvidel za to, našla pot h Kristusu. 26Potem pa bo rešen ves Izrael, kot so zapisali preroki:“Iz Jeruzalema ▼

vso njihovo brezbožnost.27Tole zavezo sklepam z njimi:
Osvobodil jih bom njihovih grehov.” ▼

28S tem, da so zavrgli sporočilo o rešitvi, so mnogi Judje postali Božji sovražniki. Toda prav na ta način je bila prosta pot za vas, da ste prišli h Kristusu. Vendar Bog drži svoje obljube in ker je izbral njihove prednike, bodo ostali njegovo ljudstvo, ki ga ljubi. 29Kajti Bog ne jemlje svojih darov nazaj in ne preklicuje svojih obljub. 30Nekdaj ste bili uporniki in Božji nasprotniki. Ker pa so Judje zavrgli Kristusa, je Bog dopustil, da doživite njegovo usmiljenje. 31Judje zdaj nočejo verjeti, da je Bog v Kristusu usmiljen z vsakim človekom, čeprav to vidijo na vas. Kmalu pa bodo tudi oni doživeli Božje usmiljenje. 32Bog je prepustil vse ljudi – tako Jude kot tudi ostala ljudstva – njihovi neveri, ker hoče vsem podariti svoje usmiljenje.
Bog je neskončno velik
33Kako velik je pravzaprav Bog! Kako neizmerno je njegovo bogastvo, njegova modrost, kako globoke so njegove misli! Kako nerazumljive so za nas njegove odločitve ▼▼V izvirniku: sodbe
in njegovi načrti! 34Kajti “kdo je mogel kdajkoli spoznati Božje načrte? Kdo mu je mogel svetovati?” ▼▼Izaija 40,13.
35Ali: “Kdo je kdajkoli Bogu dal nekaj, kar ni poprej od njega dobil?” ▼▼Job 41,2-3.
36Kajti vse, toda res prav vse je od njega, Stvarnika, vse prihaja od njega, vse vzdržuje on in on bo vse dokončal. Njemu pripada slava in čast na vse veke. Amen.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
