1“Napiši angelu cerkve v Efezu:To je sporočilo od njega, ki hodi sredi sedmerih svečnikov in drži v svoji desnici sedmere zvezde. On ti pravi: 2Vem, koliko dobrega delaš. Videl sem tvoje vztrajno delo in vso tvojo potrpežljivost. Vem, da ne trpiš greha pri svojih članih. Prav tako vem, da si pazljivo opazoval tiste, ki trdijo, da so apostoli, pa niso. Spoznal si, da lažejo. 3Potrpežljivo si trpel zaradi mene in nisi opešal pri tem. 4Vendar pa je nekaj, kar ni tako, kot bi moralo biti: Zapustil si svojo prvo ljubezen. 5Spomni se, s kakšne višine si padel! Skesaj se in spet delaj to, kar si delal v začetku. ▼

8“Angelu cerkve v Smirni piši:To sporočilo prihaja od njega, ki je Prvi in Zadnji, ki je bil mrtev, pa spet živi. 9Poznam vse tvoje trpljenje za Gospoda in vem, v kakšnem siromaštvu živiš; (imaš pa nebeško bogastvo!) ▼

Videl sem tudi, kako hudobno te obrekujejo ljudje, ki trdijo, da so Judje, vendar niso, ampak so satanova sinagoga. 10Ne boj se tega, kar boš moral pretrpeti. Hudič bo namreč nekatere izmed vas vrgel v ječo, da bi vas preizkusil. Deset dni boste trpeli preganjanje. Ostani mi zvest, tudi ko boš gledal smrti v oči in podaril ti bom venec življenja – slavno prihodnost brez konca. 11Če imate ušesa, prisluhnite temu, kar Duh govori cerkvam. 12“Piši angelu v Pergamonu: To sporočilo prihaja od njega, ki ima ostri meč z dvojnim rezilom. 13Vem, da prebivaš v mestu, kjer ima satan svoj prestol. Kljub temu pa si mi ostal zvest in se me nisi odrekel niti tedaj, ko je v tej satanovi trdnjavi umrl moj zvesti pričevalec Antipa kot mučenik. 14Kljub temu pa je nekaj, kar ti moram očitati. V svoji sredi trpiš ljudi, ki se držijo Bileamovega nauka. Bileam je namreč poučil Balaka, kako naj pahne izraelski narod v pogubo. 15Poleg tega so med vami ljudje, ki hodijo po stopinjah nikolajevcev. 16Zato se skesaj. Sicer pridem nepričakovano k tebi ter se bom boril s temi ljudmi z mečem svojih ust. 17Če imate ušesa, prisluhnite temu, kar Duh govori cerkvam. Vsi, ki bodo premagali, bodo jedli skrito mano – hrano iz nebes. Jaz pa bom dal vsakemu bel kamen, v katerega bom vklesal novo ime, ki ga ne ve nihče drug razen tistega, ki ga je dobil.” ▼▼Primer: 2. 18“Piši angelu cerkve v Tiatiri:To sporočilo prihaja od Božjega Sina, čigar oči so kot prodorni plameni ognja in noge kot bleščeča medenina. 19Vidim vse, kar delaš. Vem, s kakšno ljubeznijo mi služiš in kako zvesto se držiš vere. Vem, kako se v službi za druge žrtvuješ in poznam tvojo potrpežljivost. Zdaj pa se sploh trudiš kot nikoli poprej. 20Kljub temu pa ti moram nekaj očitati: Trpiš tisto ženo, Izabelo, ki se izdaja za prerokinjo. S svojim naukom zavaja moje služabnike v razvratno življenje ▼

ter jih spodbuja, da brez premišljanja jedo malikom žrtvovano hrano. 21Dovolj časa je imela, da bi se lahko skesala zaradi razvratnega življenja, vendar tega noče storiti. 22Zato se bo na postelji trpljenja pokesala za svoja hudobna dejanja. Pa tudi vsi, ki so skupaj z njo grešili, bodo trpeli, če se ne skesajo zaradi svojega grešnega življenja. 23Njene otroke bom izročil v smrt. Tedaj bodo vse cerkve spoznale, da sem jaz tisti, ki preiskujem globine v človeških srcih in mislih. Vsak bo prejel plačilo, ki ga zasluži. 24Vam ostalim v Tiatiri, ki niste šli za krivim naukom (za temi ‘globinami resnice’, kot jih imenujejo – v resnici pa so to satanove globine) ne nalagam nobenih dodatnih bremen. 25Čvrsto držite to, kar imate, dokler ne pridem. 26Vsakemu, ki premaga hudo in ki bo delal, kar je dobro do mojega prihoda, dam oblast nad narodi na zemlji. 27Z železno roko ▼▼V izvirniku: z železno palico

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
