Živite, kot je živel Kristus
1Če vam je dejstvo, da ste povezani z Jezusom Kristusom, v ohrabritev, če vam je njegova ljubezen v tolažbo, če imamo istega Duha in če v vas živi nežnost in sočutje, 2me razveselite s tem, da boste enih misli povezani med seboj v ljubezni in boste imeli skupen cilj. 3Ne bodite sebični; naj vam ne bo pomembno samo to, da bi naredili dober vtis na druge. Bodite ponižni in raje cenite druge bolj kot sebe. 4Ne mislite vedno najprej nase, ampak skrbite tudi za druge. 5Bodite takšni, kot je bil Jezus Kristus.6Čeprav je bil Bog po svoji naravi,
se ni skliceval na svoje pravice,
ki jih je imel kot Bog, ▼

7ampak se je odrekel svoje moči in slave
ter je prišel na zemljo kot človek,
da bi nam služil.
8V svoji ponižnosti je šel tako daleč,
da je bil celo pripravljen umreti na križu.
9Zato mu je Bog povrnil vse to,
kar je bil pripravljen žrtvovati
in mu je dal ime, ki ima večjo moč
od vseh drugih imen.
10To je storil, da bi vsi padli
na kolena pred njim –
tako v nebesih, kot na zemlji
in pod zemljo –
11ter da bi vsaka usta priznala,
da je Jezus Kristus Gospod
ter dala s tem čast Bogu, našemu Očetu.
Mnogi razlogi za radost
12Dragi prijatelji, dokler sem bil pri vas, ste si vedno prizadevali, da bi delali to, kar sem vas učil. Zdaj pa, ko nisem med vami, bi me morali poslušati še v mnogo večji meri. Rešeni ste in to naj bi se videlo na vaših življenjih. Z vso resnostjo se približajte Bogu in obrnite hrbet vsemu, kar mu ne ugaja. ▼▼V izvirniku: V strahu in trepetu vršite svoje odrešenje.
13Bog namreč deluje v vas tako, da vam najprej daje voljo, da bi mu bili poslušni, potem pa vam pomaga, da bi mogli storiti to, kar on želi. 14Pri vsem, kar delate, se varujte godrnjanja in nezadovoljstva, kajti s tem ste slab zgled drugim. 15Tako bo vaše življenje čisto in brez madeža in živeli boste kot Božji otroci in boste zgled temu pokvarjenemu in mračnemu svetu. Svetili se boste kot zvezde v temni noči. 16Čvrsto se držite besede resnice. Ko se bo Kristus vrnil, se bom veselil, če bom videl, da moje delo ni bilo zastonj. 17Tudi če bi moral plačati s svojim življenjem to, da bi vi imeli trdno vero in bi bili pripravljeni žrtvovati se za Gospodovo delo, bom kljub temu vesel. ▼

19Če Bog hoče, bom kmalu poslal k vam Timoteja. Ko se bo potem vrnil k meni, me bo ohrabril, ko mi bo pripovedoval, kako se imate vi. 20Nihče se tako iskreno ne zanima za vas kot Timotej. 21Izgleda, da vsi drugi mislijo samo na svoje zadeve in ne na Kristusove. 22Vi pa poznate Timoteja. Bil mi je kot sin in mi je pomagal oznanjevati radostno sporočilo. 23Upam, da ga bom lahko poslal k vam, brž ko bom izvedel, kaj se bo zgodilo z menoj tukaj. 24Upam, da bo Gospod kmalu dovolil, da vas bom tudi jaz obiskal.25Zdelo se mi je potrebno, da vam pošljem Epafrodita nazaj. Poslali ste mi ga namreč, da bi mi pomagal v mojih težavah. Bila sva res prava brata ter sva skupaj delala in se skupaj borila. 26Zdaj pa ga spet pošiljam domov, ker hrepeni po vseh vas in je zaskrbljen, ker ste izvedeli, da je bil bolan. 27Dejansko je tudi bil bolan, bil je celo prav blizu smrti. Vendar pa je bil Bog dober z njim kakor tudi z menoj in ni dovolil, da bi me prizadela še ta žalost poleg vsega drugega. 28Zato nestrpno čakam, da vam ga pošljem. Veseli boste, ko ga boste spet videli zdravega. To pa bo tudi zame skrb manj. 29Prisrčno in z veseljem ga sprejmite v Gospodu kot brata. Take ljudi, kot je on, cenite in spoštujte. 30Zastavil je namreč svoje življenje v službi za Kristusa in je skoraj umrl, ko si je prizadeval, da bi storil zame vse tisto, česar niste vi mogli storiti, ker ste bili daleč.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
