Celo premoženje za Jezusa
(Matej 26,6-13; Marko 14,3-9)
1Šest dni pred začetkom velikonočnega praznika je Jezus spet prišel v Betanijo, kjer je obudil Lazarja od mrtvih. 2V čast Jezusu so tam pripravili svečan obed. Marta je pomagala pri strežbi, Lazar pa je bil gost. 3Tedaj je Marija vzela posodo z dragocenim mazilnim oljem iz narde, mazilila z njim Jezusu noge in jih otirala s svojimi lasmi. Vsa hiša je bila polna prijetnega vonja. 4Eden izmed Jezusovih učencev, Juda Iškarijot, ki naj bi ga pozneje izdal, je dejal: 5“To olje je vredno celo premoženje! Bolje bi bilo, ko bi ga prodali za tristo srebrnikov in dali denar revežem.” 6V resnici pa njemu ni šlo za reveže, ampak za denar. Imel je namreč blagajno in je že večkrat kaj vzel iz nje zase. 7Jezus je odgovoril: “Pusti jo! S tem je vnaprej pripravila moje telo za pokop. 8Revežev, za katere naj bi poskrbeli, bo vedno na pretek. Jaz pa ne bom več dolgo med vami.”9Ko so izvedeli ljudje naokrog, kje je Jezus, so mnogi hiteli v Betanijo. Niso prišli samo zato, da bi videli Jezusa, ampak so želeli videti tudi Lazarja, ki ga je Jezus obudil od mrtvih. 10Nato so sklenili veliki duhovniki, da umorijo tudi Lazarja; 11saj so zaradi njega mnogi Judje sprejeli vero v Jezusa.
Jezusa sprejmejo v Jeruzalemu kot kralja
(Matej 21,1-11; Marko 11,1-10; Luka 19,28-40)
12Naslednji dan se je po vsem mestu razširila novica, da je Jezus na poti v Jeruzalem. 13Tedaj so ljudje nalomili palmovih vej, tekli Jezusu nasproti in mu navdušeni klicali: “Hvaljen bodi Bog! Hvaljen bodi, ki prihajaš v imenu Gospodovem! Pozdravljen kralj Izraelov!” ▼▼V izvirniku: Glasno so vpili: Hosana! Blagoslovljen, ki prihaja v imenu Gospodovem, kralj Izraelov (Psalm 118,26).
14Jezus je jezdil v mesto na mladem oslu. Tako se je izpolnila prerokova napoved: 15“Ne boj se, izraelsko ljudstvo! Tvoj kralj prihaja k tebi. Ponižen jezdi na osličjem žrebetu!” ▼▼Zaharija 9,9.
16Vendar njegovi učenci tega niso še razumeli. Šele potem, ko se je Jezus vrnil v Božjo slavo, so doumeli, da se je ob tej priliki izpolnilo nekaj, kar je bilo prerokovano v Svetem pismu. 17Vsi, ki so bili prisotni, ko je Jezus poklical svojega prijatelja Lazarja iz groba in ga obudil v življenje, so pripovedovali o tem drugim. 18Zato je tudi prišlo toliko ljudi Jezusu nasproti. Hoteli so videti moža, ki je delal take čudeže. 19Samo farizeji so drug drugemu očitali: “Zdaj vidite, da nič ne dosežete! Vse ljudstvo gre za njim!” “Mi bi radi srečali Jezusa!”

20Med obiskovalci, ki so prišli praznovat veliko noč, so bili tudi neki Grki. 21Prišli so k Filipu, ki je bil iz Betsajde v Galileji in ga prosili: “Gospod, radi bi srečali Jezusa!” 22Filip je to povedal Andreju, potem pa sta skupaj odšla k Jezusu. 23Dejal jima je: “Zdaj je prišel trenutek, da se vrnem v nebeško slavo. 24Dobro me poslušajte: Pšenično zrno, ki ne pade v zemljo in ne umre, ne more roditi sadu, ampak ostane samo. V zemlji pa vzklije in prinese mnogo sadu, čeprav ono samo mora umreti. 25Kdor ljubi svoje življenje na tem svetu, ga bo izgubil. Kdor pa prezira svoje življenje na tem svetu – bo v zameno dobil večno slavo. ▼▼V izvirniku: Kdor sovraži svojo dušo na tem svetu.
26Če mi kdo hoče služiti, naj pride in gre za menoj, kajti tam, kjer sem jaz, morajo biti tudi moji služabniki. Če bodo šli za menoj, jim bo moj Oče izkazal čast.” Jezus govori o svoji smrti
27“Zdaj je moja duša vznemirjena. Ali naj zato molim: Oče, obvaruj me tega, kar prihaja? Ne, kajti zato sem prišel na svet, da pretrpim to, kar me čaka. 28Oče, tvojemu imenu naj gre vsa slava in čast!” Tedaj je odjeknil glas iz neba: “To je že doslej bilo tako in bo še v večji meri zaradi tvoje smrti.” ▼▼V izvirniku: Poveličal sem ga in zopet ga poveličam.
29Ljudje okrog Jezusa so slišali glas in so menili: “Zagrmelo je!” Drugi so trdili: “Angel je govoril z njim.” 30Jezus pa je dejal: “Ta glas je veljal vam in ne meni. 31Zdaj prihaja sodba na ta svet. Zdaj bo satan, vladar tega sveta, izgnan. ▼▼V izvirniku: Vojvoda tega sveta bo vržen ven.
32Ko bom povzdignjen, bom vse pritegnil k sebi.” 33Na ta način je Jezus nakazal, da bo umrl na križu. 34Množica mu je odgovorila: “Umrl? Mi smo razumeli tako, da Mesija ne bo nikoli umrl, ampak da bo večno živel. Zakaj praviš ti, da bo umrl? O katerem Mesiji govoriš ti?” 35Jezus je odgovoril: “Moja luč vam bo svetila samo še kratek čas. Hodite, dokler imate luč. Kdor namreč hodi po temi, ne ve, kam gre. 36Uporabite luč, dokler jo še imate, da bi tako postali nosilci luči.” ▼▼V izvirniku: sinovi luči.
Samo malo jih je, ki verujejo
Po teh besedah je Jezus zapustil množico. Nihče ga ni mogel najti. 37Kljub čudežem, ki jih je storil, so le redki verovali vanj. 38Tako se je izpolnilo to, kar je prerok Izaija povedal vnaprej:“Gospod, kdo je veroval sporočilu,
ki smo ga oznanili?
Komu je Gospod razodel svojo moč, ki more rešiti?” ▼

39Izaija je govoril tudi o vzroku, da ne morejo verovati, takole:
40“Bog jim je zaslepil oči
in zamračil razum,
tako da ne bi videli s svojimi očmi
in razumeli s svojim umom
ter se obrnili k meni, pravi Gospod,
jaz pa bi jih ozdravil.” ▼

41Izaija je lahko govoril o tem, ker mu je Bog pokazal slavo, ki jo je imel Kristus, preden je prišel na svet. 42Med vodilnimi osebnostmi so bili mnogi, ki so verovali Jezusu. Iz strahu pred farizeji, ki so grozili, da bodo vsakega, ki bo hodil za Jezusom, kaznovali tako, da ga bodo izključili iz sinagoge, pa niso upali tega javno priznati. 43Za njih je bilo pomembnejše, kaj mislijo o njih ljudje, kot ugled pri Bogu.
44Jezus je glasno oznanjal: “Kdor veruje vame, veruje v tistega, ki me je poslal. 45Ko vidite mene, vidite tega, ki me je poslal. 46Kot luč sem prišel na ta svet, da nihče, ki veruje vame, ne bi več živel v temi. 47Kdor posluša mojo besedo in ne dela v skladu z njo, ga ne bom obsodil. Kajti nisem prišel, da bi bil sodnik svetu, ampak Rešitelj. 48Kdor zavrne mojo besedo, ga bo ta beseda, ki jo jaz oznanjam, obsodila ob dnevu sodbe. 49Nisem vam posredoval svojih misli; Oče, ki me je poslal, mi je povedal, kaj naj govorim. 50Gotovo je, da njegova beseda vodi v večno življenje. ▼

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
