1Judovski zakon ni verna slika stvarnosti, ampak je samo predokus vsega dobrega, kar nam je Bog pripravil. Žrtve v stari zavezi so se iz leta v leto ponavljale, vendar niso mogle narediti popolne tiste, ki so se ravnali po pravilih zakona. 2Sicer bi bilo zadosti žrtvovati enkrat in krivda več ne bi težila vesti. 3Dejansko pa so žrtve, ki so jih prinašali vedno znova, spominjale ljudi na njihovo krivdo in greh, namesto da bi jih osvobodile. 4Saj kri bikov in kozlov ne more izbrisati grehov. 5Zato je Kristus dejal, ko je prišel na zemljo:“Nisi želel žrtev in daril.
Zato si mi dal to telo.
6Nisi bil zadovoljen z žgalnimi daritvami
ter z žrtvami za greh.
7Tedaj sem dejal:
‘Prihajam, da izpolnim tvojo voljo, Gospod –
prav tako kot pravi Pismo.’ ” ▼

8Najprej pravi Kristus, da Boga niso mogle zadovoljiti razne žrtve, ki so jih prinašali v času stare zaveze, čeprav jih je zakon predpisoval. 9Poleg tega pa je dejal: “Prihajam, da izpolnim tvojo voljo, Gospod.” To pomeni, da je namesto dotedanjih žrtev Kristus prinesel svojo žrtev. ▼

10S svojo smrtjo na križu je izpolnil Božjo voljo. Po tem novem načrtu rešitve smo dobili odpuščanje grehov, ko je Kristus umrl za nas enkrat za vselej. ▼▼V izvirniku: Na podlagi te volje smo posvečeni po daritvi telesa Jezusa Kristusa enkrat za vselej.
11Torej prihajamo do naslednjega zaključka: vsak dan znova so imeli duhovniki nalogo opravljati službo pri oltarju in prinašati žrtve Bogu. Kljub temu pa te žrtve niso mogle nikogar za vedno osvoboditi krivde. 12Jezus Kristus pa je prinesel le eno žrtev za vse grehe. Zdaj pa sedi na častnem mestu na Božji desni strani, 13dokler Bog ne stori, da mu bodo vsi sovražniki pokorni. 14Kajti ta enkratna žrtev je povzročila, da so vsi, ki jih Bog sprejme za svoje otroke, za vselej v Božjih očeh popolni. ▼

15To nam potrjuje tudi Sveti Duh. Potem namreč, ko je Bog dejal:
16“To pa je nova zaveza,
ki jo bom sklenil s svojim ljudstvom Izraelom,”
je tudi rekel:
“Moj zakon bo prežemal vse njihove misli in dejanja.
Zapisal ga bom v njihova srca
in ne na kamnite plošče.
17Odpustil jim bom vso njihovo neposlušnost
in njihovih grehov se več ne bom spominjal.” ▼

18Če pa so odpuščeni grehi, ni potrebna več nobena žrtev.
Čvrsto se držite upanja
19Tako, dragi bratje, zaradi smrti Jezusa Kristusa in žrtve njegove krvi brez ovir lahko vstopimo v svetišče in pred samega Boga. 20Kristus je žrtvoval svoje življenje in tako odstranil pregrado, ki nas je ločevala od Boga. Utrl nam je novo pot, ki pelje v življenje. 21Kot naš veliki duhovnik zdaj gospodari nad Božjo hišo. 22Zato se bomo bližali Bogu z iskrenim srcem in čvrsto vero: kajti kri Jezusa Kristusa nas je očistila naše slabe vesti in oprala vse grehe. ▼▼V izvirniku: Pristopimo z resničnim srcem, v popolni gotovosti vere, v srcih pokropljeni in očiščeni slabe vesti in po telesu umiti s čisto vodo.
23Trdno se držimo tega upanja, ki ga tudi izpovedujemo, nič nas naj ne odvrne od njega, kajti lahko se zanesemo, da bo Bog izpolnil svoje obljube. 24Pazite drug na drugega! Bodite drug drugemu v pomoč, ljubeznivi bodite med seboj in delajte drug drugemu dobro. 25Ne izostajajte, ko imate bogoslužja, kar so se nekateri navadili delati. Medsebojno se spodbujajte k temu, saj vidite, da je blizu dan, ko se bo Gospod vrnil. 26Če pa še naprej namerno grešimo, čeprav smo v Kristusu spoznali resnico, nas ne more nobena druga žrtev osvoboditi greha. 27Potem ne preostane drugega, kot da čakamo Božjo kazen, ki bo prišla na vse njegove sovražnike. 28Tistega, ki se ni hotel držati zakonov, ki jih je dal Mojzes, so neusmiljeno umorili, če so dve ali tri priče potrdile, da je bil greh storjen. 29Pomislite, koliko večja bo kazen za tistega, ki je teptal Božjega Sina s svojimi nogami in ki mu Kristusova kri ne pomeni nič, ▼

čeprav je bila prelita za odpuščanje njegovih grehov. Tak človek žalosti Božjega Svetega Duha, ki nam posreduje Božjo milost in usmiljenje. 30Saj vsi poznamo tistega, ki je dejal: “Moje je maščevanje. Jaz bom vse povrnil.” ▼▼5. Mojzesova 32,35-36.
Prav tako je tudi rekel: “Gospod bo sodil svoje ljustvo.” 31Kako strašno bo za vse tiste, ki so se odrekli vere v Kristusa. Padli bodo v roke živemu Bogu. Vero je treba obdržati
32Spomnite se časa, ko ste spoznali resnico in postali kristjani. Kako trdno ste se držali Gospoda, čeprav ste zaradi tega morali trpeti. 33Posmehovali so se vam in vas mučili; videli ste tudi druge, s katerimi so ravnali prav tako. 34Trpeli ste s tistimi, ki so bili po ječah in z veseljem ste prenašali celo, da so vam jemali imetje. Vedeli ste namreč, da imate v Kristusu nekaj mnogo boljšega, nekaj, kar ima trajno, neminljivo vrednost. 35Bodite še naprej tako hrabri. Mislite na plačilo, ki vas čaka. ▼▼V izvirniku: Ne mečite od sebe svoje srčne zaupnosti, ki ima veliko plačilo.
36Vendar morate ostati trdni in delajte to, kar Bog od vas pričakuje. Potem pa pride vse to, kar vam je obljubil. 37Saj piše:“Samo še malo časa, pa bo prišel tisti, ki ga čakamo.
Ne bo se obotavljal.
38Človek, ki je na osnovi svoje vere pred Bogom opravičen, bo živel.
S tistim pa, ki mu obrača hrbet,
Bog ne bo zadovoljen.” ▼

39Mi pa nismo izmed teh, ki mu obračajo hrbet in gredo v pogubo. Mi smo med tistimi, ki se čvrsto držijo vere in so rešeni.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
