Galatians 3
1Kako da vi, kristjani v Galatiji, tega ne morete razumeti? Kdo vas je le tako zmedel? Ali vam nisem tako jasno opisal Jezusove smrti na križu, da je bilo, kot da ste vse to gledali s svojimi očmi? 2Rad bi vam postavil le eno vprašanje: Ali ste sprejeli Svetega Duha, ker ste poskušali izpolniti judovske zakone, ali pa, ker ste sprejeli radostno sporočilo o Jezusu Kristusu? ▼▼V izvirniku: ali s poslušanjem vere.
3Kako le morete biti tako slepi? Ali bi zdaj s svojimi močmi radi dokončali to, kar je Sveti Duh začel v vas? 4Saj ste doživeli tako velike stvari z Bogom! Ali naj bi bilo vse to zaman? Tega ne morem razumeti! 5Zato vas ponovno vprašam: Ali vam je Bog podaril Svetega Duha in dopustil, da se godijo med vami čudeži, ker ste izpolnili zakon, ali pa, ker verujete v Kristusa? ▼▼… dela to po delih postave ali po poslušanju vere?
6Spomnite se tega, kar beremo o Abrahamu: “Abraham je v vsem veroval Bogu, zato ga je Bog imenoval pravičnega.” ▼▼1. Mojzesova 15,6.
7Torej so vsi tisti, ki verujejo in ki se povsem zanašajo na Boga, pravi Abrahamovi otroci. ▼▼V izvirniku: ki so iz vere.
8Sveto pismo je že zdavnaj napovedalo, da bo Bog rešil ljudi, ki niso iz judovskega naroda na osnovi vere. Bog je že Abrahamu oznanil radostno sporočilo, ko je dejal: “Vsi narodi bodo blagoslovljeni v tebi.” ▼▼1. Mojzesova 22,18; 26,4.
9Zato so dobili vsi tisti, ki verujejo v Kristusa, blagoslov, kot ga je dobil Abraham. 10Tisti pa, ki mislijo, da jih bodo rešili judovski zakoni, so prekleti, kajti pismo jasno pravi: “Preklet bodi vsak, kdor prekrši le eno izmed zapovedi, ki so zapisane v Božji knjigi zakonov.” ▼▼5. Mojzesova 27,26.
11Povsem jasno je, da si ne moremo pridobiti Božje naklonjenosti s tem, da poskušamo izpolniti Božji zakon, ker je Bog sam rekel, da je edini način, da bi bili opravičeni v njegovih očeh, vera, kajti: “Človek, ki je na osnovi svoje vere pred Bogom opravičen, bo živel.” ▼▼V izvirniku: Pravični bo živel iz vere. Habakuk 2,4.
12Zakon pa ne vpraša po veri, ampak pravi: “Kdor izpolni vse zahteve zakona, bo živel.” ▼▼3. Mojzesova 18,5.
13Kristus nas je osvobodil teh zahtev, ki jih nikakor ne moremo izpolniti, tako da je vzel nase kazen za naše grehe. V pismu namreč piše: “Kogar obesijo na križ, je preklet.” ▼▼5. Mojzesova 21,23.
14Blagoslov, ki ga je Bog obljubil Abrahamu, naj bi prišel na vse narode z Jezusovo smrtjo na križu. Po veri pa naj bi sprejeli Svetega Duha, kot je obljubil Bog. Zakon in obljuba
15Dragi bratje! Rad bi vam to pojasnil z vsakdanjim primerom. Kadar naredimo oporoko in je le-ta veljavna, ne more nihče ničesar dodati, še manj pa jo razveljaviti. 16Če dobro pogledamo Božje obljube Abrahamu, ugotavljamo naslednje: Bog je dal svoje obljube Abrahamu in njegovemu Sinu. Pomembno je, da vidimo, da obljube ne veljajo njegovim sinovom, ampak njegovemu Sinu. To se vsekakor nanaša na Kristusa. 17S tem vam želim reči tole: Zakon, ki je stopil v veljavo 430 let pozneje, ni izpodrinil zaveze, ki jo je Bog sklenil mnogo prej, niti ni razveljavil obljube o rešitvi po veri. 18Če smo lahko rešeni tako, da izpolnjujemo zakon, je to neka druga pot in ne Abrahamova pot pomiritve z Bogom na osnovi vere v Božje obljube.19Zakaj pa smo potem dobili Božje zakon? On je dopolnilo obljubi, da bi razumeli, kako zelo smo krivi pred Bogom, če prekršimo njegov zakon. Veljal naj bi samo do Kristusovega prihoda. Saj je on tisti Sin, ki mu je Bog dal obljubo. (Pa še ena razlika je. Preko angelov je Bog dal zakon Mojzesu, ki ga je potem izročil ljudstvu. 20Ko pa je Bog dal obljubo Abrahamu, je to storil sam, niti angeli, niti Mojzes niso posredovali.) 21Ali nas to vodi do zaključka, da sta si Božja obljuba in zakon v nasprotju? Nikakor! Če bi nas zakon mogel rešiti, ne bi bila potrebna druga pot, da bi se rešili iz objema greha – 22kajti pismo trdi, da nas greh vse drži kot ujetnike. Edini način, da bi se osvobodili, je vera v Jezusa Kristusa. Vsem, ki vanj verujejo, je odprta pot v svobodo. ▼

23Preden je prišla vera, nas je zakon držal kot ujetnike, zaprte, dokler se ni razodela vera. 24Z drugimi besedami lahko rečem takole: zakon je imel nalogo, da nas vodi h Kristusu, da bi bili lahko opravičeni po veri. 25Zdaj pa je prišel čas vere v Kristusa, zato ni več treba, da bi nas zakon varoval in vodil k njemu.
26Zdaj smo vsi Božji otroci po veri v Jezusa Kristusa. 27Vsi vi, ki ste se združili s Kristusom v krstu, ste oblekli Kristusa. 28Zdaj ni več pomembno, ali ste Judje ali Grki, sužnji ali svobodni, moški ali ženske: v Kristusu ste vsi eno. 29Če pa ste Kristusovi, ste tudi Abrahamovi potomci in imate pravico do vsega, kar je njemu obljubil Bog.
