V Jeruzalemu sprejmejo Pavla
1Šele štirinajst let pozneje sem spet prišel v Jeruzalem, tokrat skupaj z Barnabo. Tudi Tit je bil z nama. 2Tja sem odšel po Božjem nalogu, ▼▼V izvirniku: po razodetju.
da bi se posvetoval z brati glede sporočila, ki sem ga oznanjeval. Govoril sem z vodilnimi možmi v cerkvi, da bi jim pojasnil, kaj učim ljudi ter sem upal, da ne bodo imeli nobenih pripomb glede tega. 3Tako je tudi bilo. Tudi niso zahtevali, da bi se moj sopotnik Tit obrezal. 4Tega vprašanja sploh ne bi načeli, če se ne bi vtihotapili neki takoimenovani kristjani – vsekakor lažni kristjani – ki so prišli, da bi naskrivaj opazovali naše življenje v Kristusovi svobodi. Hoteli so nas spet vpreči v jarem sužnosti. 5Toda nismo jim popustili niti za trenutek. Nikakor nismo soglašali z njimi v tem, da rešitev lahko zaslužimo, če se obrežemo in izpolnjujemo judovske zakone. 6Odgovorni možje v cerkvi – pri čemer zame ni pomembno, kaj so bili poprej, kajti pred Bogom to nima nobenega pomena – mi niso ničesar predpisali. 7Nasprotno! Jasno jim je bilo, da mi je Bog dal nalogo, da ljudem, ki niso judovskega porekla, ▼

8Vsi so namreč lahko videli, da je Bog potrdil moje apostolsko delo prav tako kot Petrovo. 9Ko so Jakob, Peter in Janez, ki so veljali za stebre, spoznali, da mi je Bog zaupal to nalogo, so nama z Barnabo bratski segli v roke. Dogovorili smo se, da bodo oni še naprej oznanjevali evangelij med Judi, mi pa med vsemi drugimi narodi. 10Samo nekaj so nas prosili: revnih v jeruzalemski cerkvi naj ne pozabimo. Sicer pa sem si jaz vedno prizadeval za to. Spori med Pavlom in Petrom
11Ko pa je Peter pozneje prišel v Antiohijo, sem se mu moral javno zoperstaviti, ker ni imel prav. 12Najprej je brez pomišljanja sodeloval pri skupnih obedih s kristjani, ki niso bili Judje. Oni se ne menijo za obrezo in mnoge druge judovske predpise. Ko pa je prišlo tja nekaj Judov, ki so bili Jakobovi prijatelji, se več ni hotel družiti s tistimi, ki niso bili Judje. ▼▼V izvirniku: in se ločil.
Bal se je namreč očitkov judovskih kristjanov. 13Tako kot Peter so se pretvarjali tudi drugi Judje v cerkvi in so nazadnje prisilili tudi Barnabo, da je ravnal v nasprotju s svojim prepričanjem. 14Ko sem opazil, da s takim pretvarjanjem odstopajo od resnice, ki smo jo oznanjevali, sem pred vsemi drugimi rekel Petru: “Čeprav si rojen Jud, si zavrgel judovske zakone, ker si postal kristjan. Zakaj zahtevaš od teh kristjanov, ki niso iz judovskega naroda, da bi živeli po judovskih predpisih? 15Ti in jaz sva rojena kot Juda in ne kot pripadnika nekega drugega brezbožnega naroda. ▼

16Poznano pa nama je, da pred Bogom ne moremo obstati zaradi tega, ker izpolnjujemo judovske zakone, ampak samo po veri v Jezusa Kristusa. Ker smo želeli biti opravičeni v Kristusu, smo postali kot nejudovski narodi, ki se ne držijo zakona. Ali zaradi tega grešimo? Ali je Kristus tisti, ki je vzrok, da grešimo? Zaradi tega, ker se ne držimo judovskih zakonov, gotovo ne grešimo.” Zakon ali vera
17Kaj pa če verujemo, da nas Kristus lahko reši na osnovi vere, pozneje pa ugotovimo, da smo bili v zmoti in da ni rešitve, če se ne obrežemo in ne izpolnjujemo tudi drugih judovskih zakonov? Ali ne bi tedaj morali reči, da je bila vera v Kristusa naša poguba? Bog ne daj, da bi si kdo upal samo pomisliti kaj takega o našem Gospodu. 18Prej bomo pogrešili, če se vrnemo k staremu, kar smo že zavrgli in poskušamo doseči rešitev tako, da izpolnjujemo judovske zakone.19Zakon me je obsodil na smrt in to je konec mojega starega življenja. Z Bogom zdaj živim novo življenje. V veri priznavam, da je bilo moje staro življenje s Kristusom razpeto na križ. 20V novem življenju, ki ga zdaj živim, odloča Kristus, ki živi v meni in nič več jaz. Vse to je posledica vere v Jezusa Kristusa, Božjega Sina, ki me je ljubil in se je žrtvoval zame. 21Nisem izmed tistih, ki mislijo, da je bila njegova smrt brez pomena, kajti v kolikor bi se lahko rešili na osnovi izpolnjevanja judovskih zakonov, njemu ne bi bilo treba umreti.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
