1Pavel, ki ga je Bog pozval, da bi bil glasnik Jezusa Kristusa in njegov sodelavec Timotej 2pošiljata to pismo kristjanom – Božjemu narodu – v Kolosah. ▼▼V izvirniku: svetim v Kolosah in vernim bratom v Kristusu.
Želim vam mir in milost od Boga, Očeta Gospoda Jezusa Kristusa in našega Očeta. 3Kadar molimo za vas, se vedno zahvaljujemo, 4kajti slišali smo o vaši veliki veri v Gospoda in o tem, kako zelo ljubite njegov narod. 5Ko ste prvič slišali veselo sporočilo, ste izvedeli tudi, kakšno upanje vam prinaša. Vaša vera in ljubezen izvirata iz upanja, ki je varno shranjeno v nebesih. 6Ta radostna novica, ki je prišla do vas, se zdaj širi po vsem svetu in vsepovsod se življenja ljudi spreminjajo, prav tako kot so se spremenila vaša življenja, odkar ste slišali to sporočilo in spoznali Božjo milost v vsej resnici. 7Vam je to radostno novico prinesel naš sodelavec Epafra. On vam je bil zvest in dober učitelj. 8Povedal nam je tudi, kako je Sveti Duh prebudil v vas bratsko ljubezen. ▼

9Od trenutka, ko smo prvič slišali za vas, nismo prenehali moliti za vas in prositi Boga, da bi spoznali njegovo voljo ter da bi vas njegov Duh napolnil z modrostjo. 10Tako pa molimo zato, da bi mogli živeti življenje, ki je vredno Gospoda ter da bi mu v vseh ozirih lahko ugajali: da bi rodili sad v dobrih delih ter da bi rasli v spoznanju Boga. 11Naj bi vas on napolnil s svojo silno in slavno močjo, da bi lahko potrpežljivo vztrajali na poti, po kateri hodite. 12Res imate vzrok, da se Bogu, Očetu, radostno zahvalite iz vsega srca, ker vam je omogočil, da imate delež v dediščini svetih v njegovem kraljestvu luči. 13On nas je osvobodil moči teme in nas privedel v kraljestvo Sina, ki ga ljubi, 14v katerem imamo rešitev in odpuščanje grehov.
Kaj je Kristus storil za nas
15Boga ne moremo videti, toda Kristus je vidna podoba nevidnega Boga in on je prvorojeni nad vsem, kar je ustvarjeno. 16Pravzaprav je Kristus tudi Stvarnik. Ustvaril je vse v nebesih in na zemlji, to, kar vidimo in česar ne vidimo, kralje duhovnih svetov in kraljestev, vladarje in voditelje. Vse te je ustvaril Kristus, da bi mu služili. 17Prej, kot vse drugo, je bil on in njegova moč vse vzdržuje. 18On je glava telesa, to pomeni, glava njegovega ljudstva, cerkve. Vse se začenja z njim. Ker je v vsem prvi, je tudi prvi vstal od mrtvih v novo življenje. 19Bog je namreč želel, da bi bilo vse, kar je v njem, tudi v njegovem Sinu. 20S smrtjo svojega Sina je Bog omogočil, da vse, kar je ustvaril v nebesih in na zemlji, pride k njemu. Zaradi krvi, ki jo je prelil na križu, je Bog zdaj sklenil mir s človeštvom in brez strahu smemo priti k njemu.21To velja tudi za vas, ki ste bili nekdaj tako daleč od Boga. Bili ste njegovi sovražniki in ste ga sovražili, vaše hudobne misli in dejanja so vas ločila od njega. 22Zdaj pa vas je sprejel kot svoje prijatelje. To je storil, ko je na križu umrlo njegovo človeško telo – s to smrtjo vas je Kristus pomiril z Bogom in zdaj stojite pred njim brez greha in brez madeža – sveti in čisti. 23Ostanite trdni v veri in ne dovolite, da bi vas kaj odvrnilo od upanja, ki se je rodilo v vas, ko ste slišali evangelij. To radostno sporočilo, ki je prišlo do vas, se zdaj širi po vsem svetu. Jaz, Pavel, sem postal oznanjevalec tega evangelija.
Pavlova naloga
24Pri tem delu pa je moj delež tudi trpljenje za vas, toda tega se veselim. Saj mi je Kristus naznanil, da bom moral trpeti za njegovo telo, ki je cerkev. To trpljenje zdaj dopolnjujem. ▼▼V izvirniku: Sedaj se veselim v svojem trpljenju za vas in dopolnjujem, kar zaostaja od Kristusovih stisk, na svojem mesu za njegovo telo, ki je cerkev.
25Bog mi je naložil, da služim njegovi cerkvi ter da vam oznanim njegov tajni načrt, ki ga ima za tiste, ki ne pripadajo judovskemu narodu. 26Mnogo let in mnogim generacijam je prikrival ta načrt, zdaj pa ga hoče razodeti tem, ki ga ljubijo in živijo zanj. 27Bog vam želi pokazati, kako nedoumljiva in čudovita je ta skrivnost, ki velja vsem ljudem na tej zemlji: Kristus je v vas, kar pomeni, da boste delili Božjo slavo. ▼▼V izvirniku: ki je Kristus v vas, upanje slave.
28Tega Kristusa vam oznanjujemo. Z vso duhovno modrostjo, kar mi jo je dal Bog, opominjam ljudi in jih poučujem v veri, da bi vsak posameznik postal zrel v Kristusu. 29To je cilj mojega dela, za to se bojujem in trudim. Kristus, ki deluje v meni s svojo močjo, mi daje vso potrebno moč za to.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
