Амасия – царь Иудеи
(2 Лет. 25:1-4, 11-12)
1На втором году правления исраильского царя Иоаша, сына Иоахаза, царём стал Амасия, сын иудейского царя Иоаша. 2Когда он стал царём, ему было двадцать пять лет, и правил он в Иерусалиме двадцать девять лет. Его мать звали Иехоаддин, она была родом из Иерусалима. 3Он делал то, что было правильным в глазах Вечного, но не так, как его предок Давуд. Он во всём следовал примеру своего отца Иоаша. 4Лишь святилища на возвышенностях не были уничтожены, и народ продолжал приносить там жертвы и возжигать благовония. 5После того как царство утвердилось в его руках, он казнил своих приближённых, которые убили его отца. 6Но сыновей убийц он не предал смерти, поступив как записано в книге Закона, переданного через Мусу, где Вечный повелел: «Отцов нельзя предавать смерти за вину их детей, а детей – за вину их отцов; пусть каждый умирает за свой собственный грех» ▼▼ Втор. 24:16 .
. 7Амасия разбил десять тысяч эдомитян в Соляной долине и завоевал город Селу, назвав его Иоктеил, как он называется и по сегодняшний день. Война между Амасией и Иоашем

8Амасия послал гонцов к исраильскому царю Иоашу, сыну Иоахаза, внуку Иеву, с вызовом: – Выходи, встретимся лицом к лицу! 9Но Иоаш, царь Исраила, ответил Амасии, царю Иудеи: – Ливанский чертополох как-то послал сказать ливанскому кедру: «Отдай свою дочь за моего сына». Но прошёл дикий ливанский зверь и вытоптал его. 10Да, ты разбил Эдом и теперь возгордился. Славься своей победой, но оставайся дома! Зачем тебе искать беды, чтобы пасть и тебе, и Иудее вместе с тобой? 11Но Амасия не послушался, и Иоаш, царь Исраила, двинул на него свои войска. Он и Амасия, царь Иудеи, встретились лицом к лицу в битве под Бет-Шемешем, что в Иудее. 12Иудея была наголову разбита Исраилом, и все иудеи разбежались по своим домам. 13Иоаш, царь Исраила, взял иудейского царя Амасию, сына Иоаша, внука Охозии, в плен под Бет-Шемешем ▼▼ Вскоре Амасия был освобождён из исраильского плена и вновь стал править Иудеей (см. ст. 17-20).

15Прочие события царствования Иоаша, то, что он сделал, и его свершения, включая войну против Амасии, царя Иудеи, записаны в «Книге летописей царей Исраила». 16Иоаш упокоился со своими предками и был похоронен в Самарии с царями Исраила. И царём вместо него стал его сын Иеровоам.Смерть Амасии

17Царь Иудеи Амасия, сын Иоаша, пережил исраильского царя Иоаша, сына Иоахаза, на пятнадцать лет. 18Прочие события царствования Амасии записаны в «Книге летописей царей Иудеи». 19Против Амасии в Иерусалиме составили заговор, и он бежал в Лахиш, но за ним послали в Лахиш и убили его там. 20Его привезли назад на конях и похоронили с его предками в Иерусалиме, Городе Давуда. 21Тогда народ Иудеи взял Уззию ▼, которому было шестнадцать лет, и сделал его царём вместо его отца Амасии. 22Уззия отстроил порт Елат и вернул его Иудее, после того как Амасия упокоился со своими предками.Иеровоам II – царь Исраила
23На пятнадцатом году правления Амасии, сына иудейского царя Иоаша, царём в Самарии стал Иеровоам, сын исраильского царя Иоаша, и правил сорок один год. 24Он делал зло в глазах Вечного и не отвернулся ни от одного из грехов Иеровоама, сына Невата, к которым тот склонил Исраил. 25Иеровоам восстановил границы Исраила от Лево-Хамата ▼▼ Или: «от перевала в Хамат».

. 26Ведь Вечный видел, как жестоко страдают в Исраиле все – от раба до свободного, и не было никого, кто пришёл бы им на помощь. 27И так как Вечный не говорил, что искоренит имя Исраила из поднебесной, Он спас их через Иеровоама, сына Иоаша. 28Прочие события царствования Иеровоама, всё, что он сделал, и его свершения, включая то, как он воевал и вернул Исраилу и Дамаск, и Хамат, которые принадлежали Иудее, записано в «Книге летописей царей Исраила». 29Иеровоам упокоился со своими предками, царями Исраила. И царём вместо него стал его сын Закария.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
