1Иоашу было семь лет, когда он стал царём, и правил он в Иерусалиме сорок лет. Его мать звали Цивия, она была родом из Беэр-Шевы. 2Иоаш делал то, что было правильным в глазах Вечного всё время, пока был жив священнослужитель Иодай. 3Иодай выбрал для него двух жён, и у него родились сыновья и дочери.Иоаш восстанавливает храм

4Спустя некоторое время Иоаш решил восстановить храм Вечного. 5Он собрал священнослужителей и левитов и сказал им: – Ходите по городам Иудеи и собирайте со всех исраильтян деньги, которые должны ежегодно поступать на поддержание храма вашего Бога. Смотрите, не мешкайте. Но левиты не стали спешить. 6Тогда царь призвал главного священнослужителя Иодая и сказал ему: – Почему ты не требуешь от левитов, чтобы они приносили от Иудеи и Иерусалима налог, установленный Мусой, рабом Вечного, и обществом Исраила для шатра соглашения? ▼▼ См. 7(Сыновья нечестивой Аталии повредили храм Аллаха и даже его священную утварь использовали в служении статуям Баала.) 8По повелению царя был изготовлен ящик, который поставили снаружи, у ворот храма Вечного. 9Затем по Иудее и Иерусалиму было объявлено, чтобы они приносили Вечному дань, которую установил для исраильтян в пустыне Муса, раб Аллаха. 10Все вельможи и весь народ с радостью приносили деньги и бросали их в ящик, пока он не наполнялся. 11Всякий раз, когда левиты приносили ящик к царским чиновникам, и те видели, что в нём много денег, царский писарь и поверенный главного священнослужителя приходили и опустошали ящик, и его снова относили на место. Они делали это постоянно и собрали много денег. 12Царь и Иодай отдали их людям, которые исполняли работу по восстановлению храма Вечного. Они наняли каменщиков и плотников, чтобы обновить храм Вечного, и мастеров по работе с железом и бронзой, чтобы восстановить храм. 13Рабочие трудились усердно, и работа спорилась у них в руках. Они восстановили храм Аллаха по его первоначальному замыслу и укрепили его. 14Завершив работу, они принесли оставшиеся деньги царю и Иодаю, и на них была изготовлена утварь для храма Вечного: утварь для службы и для всесожжений, блюда и другие вещи из золота и серебра. Пока Иодай был жив, в храме Вечного постоянно совершались всесожжения. 15Иодай состарился и насытился жизнью. Он умер в возрасте ста тридцати лет. 16Его похоронили с царями в Городе Давуда, ради добра, которое он сделал в Исраиле для Аллаха и для Его храма. Иоаш отворачивается от Вечного

17После смерти Иодая вожди Иудеи явились на поклон к царю, и он стал прислушиваться к их советам. 18Они оставили храм Вечного, Бога своих предков, и стали служить столбам Ашеры и идолам. За их вину, на Иудею и Иерусалим обрушился гнев Аллаха. 19Хотя Вечный посылал к народу пророков, чтобы обратить их к себе, и хотя пророки свидетельствовали против них, те их не слушали. 20Тогда Дух Аллаха сошёл на Закарию, сына священнослужителя Иодая. Закария встал перед народом и сказал: – Так говорит Аллах: «Почему вы нарушаете повеления Вечного? Не будет вам успеха. Раз вы оставили Вечного, то и Он оставит вас». 21Но против Закарии был составлен заговор и, по приказу царя, его забили камнями до смерти во дворе храма Вечного. 22Царь Иоаш не вспомнил о милости, оказанной ему отцом Закарии Иодаем, и убил его сына, который сказал, умирая: – Пусть Вечный увидит и взыщет. 23В конце года (ранней весной) на Иоаша двинулось войско Сирии. Оно вторглось в Иудею и в Иерусалим и перебило всех правителей народа. Сирийцы отослали всю добычу своему царю в Дамаск. 24Хотя сирийское войско было немногочисленным, Вечный отдал в их руки гораздо более сильное войско. Так как Иудея оставила Вечного, Бога своих предков, над Иоашем свершился приговор. 25Уходя, сирийцы оставили Иоаша сильно израненным. Его приближённые составили против него заговор за убийство сына Иодая, священнослужителя, и убили его в постели. Он умер и был похоронен в Городе Давуда, но не в царских гробницах. 26В заговоре против него состояли Иозавад ▼▼ Букв.: «Завад» – вариант имени Иозавад (см. 4 Цар. 12:21 ).

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
