De afstammelingen van Esau
1Hier is een lijst van de afstammelingen van Esau (die ook wel Edom werd genoemd): 2Esau trouwde met drie Kanaänitische meisjes: Ada, de dochter van de Hethiet Elon, Oholibama, de dochter van Ana en kleindochter van de Chiwwiet Sibon, 3en Basemat, de dochter van Ismaël (dus Esauʼs nicht) en de zuster van Nebajot. 4Esau en Ada kregen een zoon, Elifaz. Esau en Basemat kregen een zoon met de naam Reüel. 5Esau en Oholibama kregen drie zonen: Jeüs, Jalam en Korach. Toen nam Esau zijn vrouwen, zijn kinderen, zijn hele huishouding, het vee en de kudde—alle bezittingen die hij in Kanaän had vergaard—en trok naar het gebergte Seïr, weg van zijn broer Jakob. Dit zijn de namen van de koningen die Edom regeerden voordat Israël haar eerste koning had: koning Bela, de zoon van Beor, regeerde vanuit de stad Dinhaba in Edom. Zijn opvolger was koning Jobab, de zoon van Zerach en deze regeerde in Bosra. Toen Jobab stierf, volgde Chusam uit Teman hem op. Diens opvolger was koning Hadad, de zoon van Bedad, de aanvoerder van de strijdkrachten die het leger van Midjan versloegen toen het Moab binnendrong. Hij woonde in de stad Awit. Zijn opvolger was koning Samla, die regeerde vanuit Masreka. Diens opvolger was koning Saül, die regeerde vanuit Rechobot, aan de rivier. Saüls opvolger was koning Baäl-Chanan, de zoon van Achbor. Diens opvolger was koning Hadar, die regeerde vanuit de stad Paü. Dit zijn dus de namen van de onderstammen van Edom die hun namen gaven aan de gebieden die zij bewoonden (het waren allemaal Edomieten, afstammelingen van Esau).

It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
