Gunakan karunia, Saudara!
1 Karena itu, Saudara sekalian yang saya kasihi, saya mohon supaya Saudara melayani Allah dengan seluruh hidup kalian, mempersembahkan dirimu sebagai suatu persembahan yang hidup dan suci, suatu persembahan yang menyukakan hati-Nya. Melayani Dia dengan cara ini adalah ibadat sejati dan balasan yang pantas untuk kasih-Nya. 2Jangan meniru tingkah laku dan kebiasaan dunia ini, melainkan jadilah orang dengan kepribadian yang sama sekali baru dalam segala perbuatan dan pikiran, niscaya Saudara akan mengerti dari pengalaman sendiri bahwa jalan-jalan Allah itu sempurna dan sungguh-sungguh memuaskan Saudara.3Sebagai utusan Allah saya menyampaikan peringatan Allah kepada Saudara masing-masing: Hendaklah Saudara jujur dalam menilai diri sendiri, serta mengukur nilai masing-masing berdasarkan besarnya iman yang diberikan Allah kepada Saudara. 4– 5Sebagaimana tubuh kita mempunyai banyak anggota, demikian jugalah tubuh Kristus. Kita semua adalah bagian-bagian tubuh itu dan kita masing-masing dibutuhkan untuk menyempurnakan tubuh itu, karena tugas kita berlain-lainan. Jadi, kita merupakan kesatuan dan saling membutuhkan.
6Kita masing-masing diberi Allah kecakapan untuk melakukan hal-hal tertentu dengan baik. Jadi, jika Saudara diberi kecakapan untuk bernubuat, bernubuatlah bilamana saja Saudara dapat—setiap kali iman Saudara cukup kuat untuk menerima pesan dari Allah. 7Jika karunia yang ada pada Saudara itu berupa kecakapan untuk melayani orang lain, layanilah mereka dengan baik. Jika Saudara seorang guru, hendaklah Saudara mengajar dengan baik. 8Jika Saudara seorang pengkhotbah, usahakanlah supaya khotbah Saudara meyakinkan dan banyak faedahnya. Jika Allah mengaruniakan uang kepada Saudara, bermurahhatilah dalam membantu orang lain dengan uang tersebut. Jika Saudara diberi kecakapan dalam hal memimpin dan Allah menugaskan Saudara untuk mengawasi pekerjaan orang lain, bersungguh-sungguhlah dalam memikul tanggung jawab tersebut. Orang-orang yang memberi penghiburan kepada yang berdukacita, hendaklah melakukannya dengan senang hati.
Hendaklah saling mengasihi
9Janganlah hanya berpura-pura mengasihi orang. Kasihilah mereka dengan sungguh-sungguh. Bencilah apa yang jahat. Lakukanlah apa yang baik. 10Hendaklah Saudara saling mengasihi dengan kasih persaudaraan dan saling menghormati. 11Janganlah Saudara bermalas-malas dalam melakukan pekerjaan, melainkan layanilah Tuhan dengan giat.12Bergembiralah atas segala rencana Allah bagi Saudara. Bersabarlah dalam kesukaran dan berdoalah selalu. 13Bila ada anak-anak Allah yang memerlukan pertolongan, Saudaralah yang wajib menolong mereka. Biasakanlah mengajak orang-orang seperti itu makan di rumah Saudara, dan bila perlu, berilah mereka tempat untuk menginap.
14Apabila ada orang yang mencelakakan Saudara karena Saudara orang Kristen, janganlah mengutuknya; berdoa dan mohonlah supaya Allah memberkati dia. 15Bila orang lain bersukacita, ikutlah bersukacita dengan mereka. Bila mereka bersedih hati, ikutlah merasakan kesusahan mereka. 16Bekerjalah bersama-sama dengan senang hati. Jangan berlagak seperti orang besar. Janganlah mengambil hati orang-orang yang penting, melainkan hendaklah Saudara merasa senang bergaul dengan orang biasa. Janganlah menganggap diri Saudara mengetahui segala-galanya.
17Janganlah membalas kejahatan dengan kejahatan. Berlakulah sedemikian rupa, sehingga setiap orang dapat melihat bahwa Saudara benar-benar jujur. 18Janganlah bertengkar dengan siapa pun. Usahakanlah hidup dalam perdamaian dengan setiap orang.
19Sahabat-Sahabat yang saya kasihi, janganlah menuntut balas. Serahkan saja kepada Allah, sebab Ia telah berkata,
“Ia akan membalas siapa yang patut dibalas.
Janganlah main hakim sendiri.”
20Sebaliknya,
“Apabila musuh Saudara lapar, berilah dia makan;
apabila ia haus, berilah dia minum.
Dengan demikian Saudara akan menumpukkan bara api di atas kepalanya”.
Artinya, ia akan merasa malu sendiri atas apa yang telah dilakukannya terhadap Saudara.
21Jangan membiarkan kejahatan menguasai Saudara, melainkan taklukkanlah kejahatan itu dengan kebajikan.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
