Nasihat dan salam doa
1 Lanjutkanlah sikap saling mengasihi dengan kasih persaudaraan yang sejati. 2Jangan lupa bersikap ramah terhadap orang yang tidak dikenal, sebab dengan berbuat demikian ada beberapa orang yang telah menjamu malaikat di luar pengetahuan mereka. 3Ingatlah akan orang-orang yang dipenjarakan. Ikut sertalah menanggung penderitaan mereka seolah-olah Saudara sendiri berada dalam penjara. Ikutlah merasakan penderitaan mereka yang diperlakukan sewenang-wenang, sebab Saudara tahu apa yang sedang mereka derita.4Hormatilah pernikahan serta janji-janjinya dan hendaklah Saudara murni; sebab Allah pasti akan menghukum orang yang tidak bermoral atau yang berzina.
5Jauhkanlah diri Saudara dari cinta akan uang; hendaklah Saudara merasa puas dengan apa yang ada pada Saudara. Sebab Allah telah berfirman,
“Aku sekali-kali tidak akan membiarkan
dan menelantarkan engkau.”
6Karena itu, kita dapat berkata tanpa bimbang atau takut,
“Tuhan adalah Penolongku
dan aku tidak takut akan
apa yang dapat dilakukan manusia terhadap aku.”
7Ingatlah akan pemimpin-pemimpin yang telah mengajarkan firman Allah kepada Saudara. Ingat bagaimana mereka hidup dan bagaimana mereka mati, dan usahakanlah untuk beriman kepada Tuhan seperti mereka.
8Yesus Kristus tetap sama, kemarin, sekarang, dan selama-lamanya. 9Janganlah Saudara tertarik akan ajaran-ajaran baru yang aneh. Kekuatan rohani Saudara berasal dari kasih karunia Allah, bukan dari peraturan ibadat tentang makan makanan tertentu—suatu cara yang tidak mendatangkan faedah apa pun kepada mereka yang telah mencobanya.
10Kita mempunyai sebuah mazbah, yaitu salib tempat Kristus dikurbankan. Tetapi orang yang terus mencari keselamatan dengan menaati hukum-hukum Yahudi tidak dapat memperoleh pertolongan di mazbah itu. 11Menurut peraturan hukum Yahudi, imam besar membawa darah binatang sembelihan ke dalam Tempat Kudus sebagai suatu kurban karena dosa, lalu tubuh binatang itu dibakar di luar perkemahan. 12Itulah sebabnya Yesus menderita dan mati di luar kota, di mana darah-Nya menghapuskan dosa kita.
13Karena itu, marilah kita keluar dari kota menuju kepada-Nya untuk menderita bersama Dia dan menanggung kehinaan-Nya. 14Sebab dunia ini bukanlah tempat tinggal kita; dengan penuh pengharapan kita menantikan tempat tinggal kita yang kekal di surga.
15Karena itu, melalui Yesus, marilah kita terus-menerus mempersembahkan kurban puji-pujian kepada Allah, menyatakan kesetiaan kita kepada nama-Nya. 16Janganlah lupa berbuat baik dan memberi bantuan kepada orang yang berkekurangan, sebab kurban-kurban demikian sangat menyukakan hati Allah. 17Taatilah pemimpin-pemimpin Saudara dan lakukanlah dengan rela apa yang diperintahkannya. Sebab tugas mereka ialah menjagai jiwa Saudara dan Allah akan menilai hasil pekerjaan mereka. Usahakanlah supaya mereka dapat memberi laporan kepada Allah tentang Saudara dengan sukacita, bukan dengan dukacita, sebab kalau demikian halnya, Saudara juga yang akan menanggung akibatnya. 18Berdoalah untuk kami, sebab hati nurani kami bersih dan kami ingin supaya tetap demikian. 19Saya memerlukan doa Saudara, terlebih-lebih sekarang ini, supaya saya dapat segera kembali kepada Saudara.
20Allah damai sejahtera
telah membangkitkan Tuhan Yesus,
Gembala Agung bagi domba-domba-Nya,
dari antara orang mati,
dan mengesahkan perjanjian kekal di antara Allah dan Saudara melalui darah-Nya.
21Semoga Allah memperlengkapi Saudara dengan segala hal yang Saudara perlukan
untuk melakukan kehendak-Nya,
Semoga melalui kuasa Kristus,
Ia mengerjakan di dalam Saudara
segala sesuatu yang menyukakan hati-Nya.
Bagi Dialah kemuliaan untuk selama-lamanya. Amin.
22Saudara sekalian, dengarkanlah dengan sabar apa yang saya katakan dalam surat yang pendek ini. 23Saya ingin memberitahukan kepada Saudara bahwa saudara kita Timotius sudah dibebaskan dari penjara. Bila dalam waktu yang dekat ini ia datang kemari, saya akan menyertai dia berkunjung kepada Saudara. 24– 25Sampaikanlah salam saya kepada semua pemimpin Saudara dan segenap umat Kristen di sana. Saudara-saudara seiman dari Italia juga mengirimkan salam. Semoga kasih karunia Allah menyertai Saudara sekalian.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
