Perpecahan dalam sidang jemaat
1 Saudara sekalian yang saya kasihi, saya telah berbicara seolah-olah dalam hidup kekristenan Saudara masih merupakan bayi yang tidak menurut kehendak Allah, melainkan menurut hawa nafsu sendiri. Saya tidak dapat berbicara kepada Saudara seperti kepada orang Kristen yang sudah dipenuhi oleh Roh. 2Kepada Saudara selama ini saya memberikan susu, bukannya makanan padat, karena Saudara belum sanggup mencernakannya. Bahkan sekarang pun Saudara masih tetap harus diberi minum susu. 3Sebab Saudara adalah orang Kristen yang masih bayi, yang dikuasai oleh kehendak sendiri dan bukan oleh kehendak Allah. Jika Saudara iri-mengiri dan berpecah-pecah menjadi kelompok-kelompok yang saling bertentangan, bukankah hal itu membuktikan bahwa Saudara masih bayi yang hanya menurutkan kata hati saja? Sesungguhnya, Saudara berkelakuan seperti orang yang sama sekali tidak mengenal Tuhan. 4Saudara bertengkar mengenai apakah saya lebih besar daripada Apolos, sehingga jemaat terpecah-pecah. Bukankah itu menyatakan bahwa pertumbuhan Saudara di dalam Tuhan belum seberapa?5Siapakah saya dan siapakah Apolos, sehingga kami dijadikan bahan pertengkaran? Kami hanyalah hamba Allah dengan karunia kami masing-masing, dan dengan pertolongan kami Saudara menjadi percaya. 6Pekerjaan saya ialah menanam benih dalam hati Saudara dan pekerjaan Apolos ialah menyiraminya, tetapi Allah, dan bukan kami, yang menumbuhkannya. 7Orang yang menanam atau menyirami tidak begitu penting, tetapi Allah yang penting, sebab Dialah yang menumbuhkan. 8Apolos dan saya bekerja sama untuk satu tujuan, namun kami akan mendapat upah menurut jerih payah kami masing-masing. 9Kami adalah teman sekerja Allah. Saudara sekalian adalah kebun Allah, bukan kebun kami; Saudara adalah rumah Allah, bukan rumah kami.
Dasar dan bangunan rohani
10Karena kebaikan-Nya, Allah telah mengajar saya menjadi seorang ahli bangunan. Saya yang meletakkan dasar dan Apolos yang membangun di atasnya. Tetapi orang yang membangun di atas dasar itu haruslah berhati-hati. 11Sebab tidak seorang pun dapat meletakkan dasar yang lain selain dari yang sudah diletakkan, yaitu Yesus Kristus. 12Tetapi ada bermacam-macam bahan yang dapat digunakan untuk membangun di atas dasar itu. Beberapa orang menggunakan emas, perak, dan permata. Beberapa orang lagi membangun dengan kayu, rumput, malah dengan jerami! Pada Hari Penghakiman kelak, 13akan tiba masanya Kristus memeriksa bahan-bahan yang telah digunakan. Pekerjaan setiap orang akan diuji dengan api, sehingga semua orang akan melihat mutu pekerjaan itu dan apa sebenarnya yang telah dicapai. 14Kemudian setiap pekerja, yang telah membangun di atas dasar itu dengan menggunakan bahan-bahan yang benar, dan yang pekerjaannya tetap utuh, akan menerima upahnya. 15Tetapi, apabila rumah yang telah dibangunnya itu terbakar, ia akan menderita kerugian besar. Ia sendiri akan diselamatkan, tetapi keadaannya seperti orang yang lolos dari nyala api yang besar.16Tidakkah Saudara menyadari bahwa Saudara sekalian adalah rumah Allah dan Roh Allah hidup di antara Saudara di dalam rumah-Nya?
17Apabila seseorang mengotori dan merusak rumah Allah, ia akan dibinasakan oleh Allah. Sebab rumah Allah suci dan bersih, dan Saudaralah rumah itu.
18Janganlah terus-menerus menipu diri sendiri. Kalau Saudara menganggap diri pandai menurut ukuran dunia, lebih baik Saudara membuang anggapan semacam itu dan menjadi orang bodoh, daripada Saudara tidak memperoleh hikmat sejati dari surga. 19Sebab hikmat dunia ini adalah kebodohan bagi Allah. Seperti tertulis dalam Kitab Ayub:
Allah membiarkan manusia terjerat oleh kepandaiannya sendiri; manusia terantuk pada “hikmat”-nya sendiri, lalu jatuh.
20Lagipula, dalam Kitab Mazmur kita diberi tahu, bahwa
Tuhan mengetahui jalan pikiran manusia, dan tahu benar akan kebodohan dan kesia-siaannya.
21Jadi, janganlah merasa bangga karena mengikuti orang berhikmat di dunia ini. Sebab Allah telah memberi Saudara segala yang Saudara butuhkan. 22Ia telah mengaruniakan Paulus dan Apolos dan Petrus kepada Saudara sebagai penolong. Ia telah memberi Saudara seluruh dunia ini; hidup dan bahkan mati pun adalah pelayan Saudara. Seluruh masa kini dan seluruh masa depan telah diberikan-Nya kepada Saudara. Semua itu milik Saudara. 23Saudara adalah milik Kristus dan Kristus adalah milik Allah.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
