Der Heilige Geist.
1Dies habe Ich zu euch geredet, auf daß ihr kein Ärgernis nehmt. 2Sie werden euch aus der Synagoge stoßen. Ja ▼▼Aber
, es kommt die Stunde, da jeder, der euch tötet, meint, er bringe Gott einen Dienst damit dar. 3Und solches werden sie tun, weil sie weder den Vater noch Mich erkannt haben. 4Ich habe aber solches zu euch geredet, auf daß, wenn die Stunde kommt, ihr gedenket, daß ich es euch gesagt habe. Ich sagte euch solches von Anfang nicht, weil Ich bei euch war. 5Jetzt aber gehe Ich hin zu Dem, Der Mich gesandt hat, und keiner von euch fragt Mich: Wo gehst Du hin? 6Sondern weil Ich solches zu euch geredet habe, hat Betrübnis euer Herz erfüllt. 7Aber Ich sage euch die Wahrheit: Es ist zuträglich für euch, daß Ich hingehe; denn so Ich nicht weggehe, wird der Beistand nicht zu euch kommen; wenn Ich aber gehe, werde Ich ihn zu euch senden. 8Und wenn er kommt, wird er die Welt überführen von der Sünde und von der Gerechtigkeit, und vom Gericht; 9Von der Sünde, daß sie nicht glauben an Mich; 10Von der Gerechtigkeit, daß Ich zu Meinem Vater hingehe, und ihr Mich nicht mehr schauet. 11Von dem Gericht, daß der Fürst ▼▼Oberste
dieser Welt gerichtet ist. 12Ich habe euch noch vieles zu sagen, aber ihr könnt es jetzt nicht tragen. 13Wenn aber jener, der Geist der Wahrheit, kommen wird, so wird er euch in alle Wahrheit leiten; denn er wird nicht von sich selber reden, sondern was er hören wird, wird er reden, und was da kommen wird, wird er euch ansagen. 14Derselbe wird Mich verherrlichen; denn von dem Meinigen wird er nehmen und es euch ansagen. 15Alles, was der Vater hat, ist Mein. Darum sagte Ich, daß er von dem Meinigen nehmen und es euch ansagen wird. 16Über ein Kleines, so schauet ihr Mich nicht, und wiederum über ein Kleines, so werdet ihr Mich sehen; denn Ich gehe hin zum Vater. 17Da sprachen etliche Seiner Jünger untereinander: Was ist das, daß Er zu uns sagt: über ein Kleines, so schauet ihr Mich nicht, und wiederum über ein Kleines, so werdet ihr Mich sehen? und: Ich gehe hin zum Vater? 18Sie sagten nun: Was ist das, daß Er sagt: Über ein Kleines? Wir wissen nicht, was Er redet. 19Jesus erkannte nun, daß sie Ihn fragen wollten, und sagte zu ihnen: Darüber forschet ▼▼suchet
ihr miteinander, daß Ich sagte: Über ein Kleines schauet ihr Mich nicht, und abermals über ein Kleines, so werdet ihr Mich sehen. 20Wahrlich, wahrlich, Ich sage euch: Ihr werdet weinen und klagen, aber die Welt wird sich freuen. Ihr werdet euch betrüben, aber eure Betrübnis wird zur Freude werden. 21Das Weib hat Betrübnis, wenn sie gebären soll; denn ihre Stunde ist gekommen; wenn sie aber das Knäblein geboren hat, gedenkt sie nicht mehr der Trübsal vor Freude, daß ein Mensch in die Welt geboren ist. 22Auch ihr nun habt jetzt Betrübnis; aber Ich werde euch wiederum sehen, und euer Herz wird sich freuen, und niemand nimmt eure Freude weg von euch. 23Und an selbigem Tage werdet ihr Mich nichts fragen. Wahrlich, wahrlich, Ich sage euch: Was irgend ihr den Vater bitten werdet in Meinem Namen, wird Er euch geben. 24Bisher habt ihr um nichts gebeten in Meinem Namen. Bittet, so werdet ihr empfangen, daß eure Freude erfüllt werde. 25Solches habe Ich zu euch in Gleichnisreden geredet; aber es kommt die Stunde, da Ich nicht mehr in Gleichnisreden zu euch reden, sondern euch frei heraus von dem Vater ansagen werde. 26Am selben Tage sollt ihr in Meinem Namen bitten, und Ich sage euch nicht, daß Ich den Vater für euch bitten ▼▼fragen
werde. 27Denn der Vater Selbst hat euch lieb, weil ihr Mich lieb hattet, und geglaubt habt, daß Ich von Gott ausgegangen bin. 28Ich bin vom Vater ausgegangen und in die Welt gekommen, wiederum verlasse Ich die Welt und gehe zum Vater hin. 29Sagen Seine Jünger zu Ihm: Siehe, jetzt redest Du frei heraus und sprichst nicht mehr in Gleichnisreden. 30Jetzt wissen wir, daß Du alles weißt und nicht bedarfst, daß Dich jemand frage. Darum glauben wir, daß Du von Gott ausgegangen bist. 31Jesus antwortete ihnen: Eben jetzt glaubet ihr. 32Siehe, es kommt die Stunde und ist jetzt gekommen, daß ihr zerstreut werdet, ein jeglicher in das Eigene, und ihr Mich allein lasset; und Ich bin nicht allein, denn der Vater ist mit Mir. 33Solches habe Ich zu euch geredet, auf daß ihr in Mir Frieden habet. In der Welt habt ihr Trübsal; aber seid getrost, Ich habe die Welt überwunden.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
