Untergang Babels und Aschurs.
1Denn Jehovah wird Sich Jakobs erbarmen und Israel wiederum erwählen und sie auf ihren Boden setzen, und ihnen hängt an der Fremdling und hält sich zum Hause Jakobs. 2Und die Völker werden sie nehmen und hineinbringen an ihren Ort. Und das Haus Israel wird sie ererben auf dem Boden Jehovahs zu Knechten und zu Dienstmägden, und wird gefangen führen, die so es hatten gefangengeführt, und sich unterwerfen seine Treiber. 3Und es wird geschehen, daß am Tag, da dir Jehovah Ruhe gibt von deinen Schmerzen und von deiner Beunruhigung und von der harten Knechtschaft, in der du dienen mußtest, 4Da wirst du diesen Spruch erheben über den König Babels und sprechen: Wie hört doch der Treiber auf ▼▼feiert
, wie hört die Goldsucht auf ▼▼feiert
! 5Zerbrochen hat Jehovah den Stab der Ungerechten, die Rute der Herrschenden, 6Er, Der die Völker schlug in Wut, mit Schlägen ohne Ablenken, Der die Völkerschaften beherrscht im Zorn, Der verfolgt ohne Zurückhaltung. 7Es ruhet und rastet die ganze Erde, sie sind in Jubel ausgebrochen. 8Auch die Tannen sind fröhlich ob dir, die Zedern Libanons: Seitdem du liegst, kommt niemand herauf, um uns umzuhauen. 9Die Hölle drunten zitterte ob dir, entgegen dir zu kommen, sie erregte dir die Rephaim, alle die Rüstigen der Erde; sie ließ aufstehen von ihren Thronen alle Könige der Völkerschaften. 10Sie alle antworten und sprechen zu dir: Auch du bist wie wir hinfällig geworden, bist uns gleich geworden. 11Zur Hölle ist hinabgefahren dein Stolz und deiner Psalter Toben; Maden sind deine Streue unter dir und deine Decke Würmer. 12Wie bist vom Himmel du gefallen, du Leuchtender, Sohn der Morgenröte? Zur Erde niedergehauen, geschwächt unter den Völkerschaften! 13Und du sprachst in deinem Herzen: Zu den Himmeln steige ich auf, über die Sterne Gottes erhöhe ich meinen Thron, und will sitzen auf dem Berg der Versammlung auf den Hinterseiten der Mitternacht. 14Ich will hinaufsteigen auf der Wolken Höhen ▼▼Opferhöhen
, will mich dem Höchsten gleichmachen. 15Doch wirst du hinabgestürzt zur Hölle, auf die Hinterseiten der Grube. 16Die dich sehen, schauen dich an, betrachten dich: Ist das der Mann, der die Erde zittern, die Königreiche erbeben machte? 17Er machte zur Wüste die Welt, riß nieder ihre Städte, löste ▼▼öffnete
seine Gebundenen nicht, nach Hause ▼▼zu kehren

. 18Alle Könige der Völkerschaften liegen allzumal in Herrlichkeit, jeder Mann in seinem Haus! 19Du aber wirst aus deinem Grab geworfen, wie ein verabscheuter Schößling, das Kleid Erwürgter, vom Schwert Durchbohrter, die an die Steine der Grube hinabfahren, wie eine zertretene Leiche. 20Nicht wirst du mit ihnen vereint in dem Grabe; denn du hast verdorben dein Land und hast dein Volk erwürgt, nicht wird in Ewigkeit genannt der Bösen Samen. 21Bereitet für ein Schlachten seine Söhne um ihrer Väter Missetat willen, daß sie nicht aufstehen und das Land besitzen, und der Welt Angesicht mit Städten füllen. 22Und Ich will Mich aufmachen wider sie, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, und ausrotten zu Babel Namen und Überrest und Sproß und Schoß, spricht Jehovah. 23Und will es machen ▼▼setzen
zum Erbbesitze der Entenadler und zu Teichen des Wassers; und sie fortkehren mit dem Besen der Vernichtung, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen. 24Jehovah der Heerscharen schwor es und sprach: Wie Ich es gemeint, so soll es werden, und wie Ich es beratschlagte, soll es erstehen! 25Daß Aschur zerbreche in Meinem Land und Ich ihn zertrete auf Meinen Bergen, auf daß sein Joch von ihnen fortweiche und seine Last fortweiche von ihrer Schulter. 26Dies ist der Ratschluß, beschlossen über alles Land, und das ist die Hand, über alle Völkerschaften ausgestreckt. 27Denn Jehovah der Heerscharen hat es beschlossen, und wer will es zunichte machen? Und Seine Hand ist ausgereckt. Und wer will sie zurückwenden? 28Im Jahr, da König Achas starb, war dies die Weissagung: 29Sei nicht fröhlich, du ganz Philistäa, daß die Rute, die dich schlug, zerbrochen ist; denn aus der Wurzel der Schlange geht ein Basilisk hervor, und seine Frucht ist eine fliegende Feuerschlange. 30Und die Erstgeborenen der Armen weiden und die Dürftigen lagern in Sicherheit, aber durch Hunger töte Ich deine Wurzel und deinen Überrest erwürget er. 31Heule, Tor! Schreie, Stadt! Zerfließe, du ganz Philistäa, weil von Mitternacht ein Rauch kommt, und kein Einsamer in seinen Versammlungen ist. 32Und was wird man den Boten der Völkerschaft antworten? Daß Jehovah hat Zion gegründet, und auf es verlassen sich die Elenden von Seinem Volk.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
