‏ Psalms 76

Who Can Stand Before You?

To the choirmaster: with astringed instruments. A Psalm of bAsaph. A Song.

1In Judah God is cknown;
his name is great in Israel.
2His dabode has been established in eSalem,
his fdwelling place in Zion.
3There he gbroke the flashing arrows,
the shield, the sword, and the weapons of war.  Selah
4Glorious are you, more majestic
hthan the mountains full of iprey.
5 jThe stouthearted were stripped of their spoil;
kthey sank into sleep;
all the men of war
were unable to use their hands.
6At your rebuke, O God of Jacob,
both lrider and horse lay stunned.
7 mBut you, you are to be feared!
Who can nstand before you
when once your anger is roused?
8From the heavens you uttered judgment;
othe earth feared and was still,
9when God parose to establish judgment,
to save all the humble of the earth.  Selah
10Surely qthe wrath of man shall praise you;
the remnant
Or extremity
of wrath you will put on like a belt.
11 sMake your vows to the Lord your God and perform them;
let all around him tbring gifts
to him who uis to be feared,
12who vcuts off the spirit of princes,
who wis to be feared by the kings of the earth.
