Hospodine, celým srdcem ti budu vzdávat chválu
1Pro vedoucího chval. Na mút labben. ▼▼Co tato slova znamenají, nelze s jistotou určit. Stv. překlady jim přikládají různé významy: „Pro tajnosti (/ o tajnostech) syna“ (tak LXX a Vul) či „pro smrt syna“ (Pš); starověcí vykladači spojovali slova al a múth ve slovo alamóth (dětství / mládí). Novější překladatelé se kloní spíše k tomu, že jde o označení nápěvu či hudebního nástroje.
Davidův žalm. ▼▼Tento žalm patří dohromady s následujícím Ž 10 (viz LXX; 147,1p). Jedná se o jakýsi alfabetický dvojžalm. První v. Ž 9 je nadpisek; v. 2 začíná prvním písmenem h. abecedy, v. 4 druhým atd. Tedy vždy dva v. náleží jednomu písmenu h. abecedy. Ž 9 končí písmenem kaf (v. 20); Ž 10 začíná v prvním v. písmenem lámed. Některá písmena jsou ovšem vynechána — je použito celkem 18 z 22 písmen (chybí d, m, s a c). V Ž 10 patří k některému písmenu verše tři a pořadí se nedrží obvyklého řazení písmen důsledně.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
