hle, mágové ▼▼ř. slovo magos; se v NS vyskytuje 6×: Mt 2,1.7.16; Sk 13,6.8†. Podle ř. historika Herodota (5. stol. př. Kr.) se tak původně nazýval jeden z šesti médských kmenů. Později byli takto označováni astrologové, věštci, zaklínači (Da 2,10 LXX). Zde se zřejmě jedná o znalce hvězd, snad babylonské astrology.

19Když Herodes zemřel, hle, Pánův anděl se ukázal ve snu ▼▼1,20
Josefovi v Egyptě 20a řekl: „Vstaň, vezmi dítě a jeho matku a jdi do země izraelské, neboť ti, kteří ⌈ukládali dítěti o život⌉, ▼▼ř.: žádali duši dítěte, tzn. chtěli ho zabít. Jedná se o starozákonní idiom — (Ex 4,19; 1S 20,1; Jr 4,30).

co bylo řečeno skrze proroky: 'Bude nazýván Nazaretský. ▼▼ř.: Nazorejský (tak v celém Mt evangeliu). Toto označení nemusí zn. jen „pocházející z Nazareta“ (Mt 21,11). Nelze ani vyloučit názvuk na Iz 11,1, kde se mluví o „výhonku“ (necer).

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
