1Dyma'r Arglwydd yn siarad â Moses ar wastatir Moab, wrth yr Afon Iorddonen gyferbyn â Jericho. 2“Dywed wrth bobl Israel am roi rhai o'u trefi i'r Lefiaid i fyw ynddyn nhw, gyda tir pori i'w hanifeiliaid. 3Wedyn bydd ganddyn nhw le i fyw, a thir pori i'w gwartheg a'u defaid a'u hanifeiliaid eraill. 4Rhaid i'r tir pori o gwmpas y trefi fyddwch chi'n eu rhoi i'r Lefiaid ymestyn am tua 675 metr o wal y dre. 5Mae ffin allanol y tir pori i fesur 1,350 metr ar bob ochr – gogledd, de, gorllewin a dwyrain – gyda'r dre yn y canol. Mae'r tir yma i fod yn dir pori i'r trefi. 6“Bydd chwech o'r trefi fyddwch chi'n eu rhoi i'r Lefiaid yn drefi lloches, i rywun sydd wedi lladd person arall trwy ddamwain allu dianc yno. Rhaid i chi roi pedwar deg dwy o drefi eraill i'r Lefiaid – 7pedwar deg wyth o drefi i gyd, gyda tir pori i bob un. 8Rhaid i'r trefi dych chi'n eu rhoi fod yn drefi sydd piau pobl Israel. Bydd nifer y trefi mae pob llwyth yn ei gyfrannu yn dibynnu ar faint y llwyth. Bydd y llwythau mwyaf yn rhoi mwy o drefi, a'r llwythau lleiaf yn rhoi llai. Ond rhaid i bob llwyth gyfrannu rhai o'u trefi i'r Lefiaid.”Trefi lloches

Bydd rhywun sydd wedi lladd person arall drwy ddamwain yn gallu dianc yno. 12Bydd y trefi yma yn lle saff i ddianc rhag perthynas yr un gafodd ei ladd sydd am ddial. Ddylai'r lladdwr ddim cael ei ladd cyn sefyll ei brawf o flaen y bobl. 13Rhaid darparu chwech tref loches – 14tair yr ochr yma i'r Afon Iorddonen, a tair yn Canaan. 15Bydd y chwe tref yma yn drefi lloches i bobl Israel, i bobl o'r tu allan ac i fewnfudwyr. Gall unrhyw un sy'n lladd person arall trwy ddamwain ddianc iddyn nhw. 16“‘Ond mae rhywun sy'n taro person arall yn farw gyda bar haearn yn llofrudd. Rhaid gweinyddu'r gosb eithaf – mae'n llofrudd. 17Neu os ydy e'n taflu carreg ddigon mawr i ladd rhywun at berson arall, a'r person hwnnw'n marw, mae'n llofrudd. Rhaid i'r llofrudd farw. 18Neu os ydy e'n taro rhywun yn farw gyda darn o bren, mae'n llofrudd. Rhaid i'r llofrudd farw. 19Mae gan berthynas agosaf y person gafodd ei lofruddio hawl i ladd y llofrudd yn y fan a'r lle. 20Os ydy rhywun yn lladd person arall drwy ei daro gyda rhywbeth neu daflu rhywbeth ato'n fwriadol, 21neu drwy roi dyrnod iddo, mae'n llofrudd. Rhaid i'r llofrudd farw. Rhaid i berthynas agosaf y person gafodd ei lofruddio ladd y llofrudd yn y fan a'r lle. 22“‘Ond os oedd wedi taro'r person arall neu daflu rhywbeth ato a'i daro yn ddamweiniol, 23neu ollwng carreg ddigon mawr i'w ladd, heb fod wedi ei weld. Hynny ydy, os oedd dim casineb na bwriad i wneud drwg i'r person arall, 24rhaid i'r bobl farnu'r achos rhwng yr un sy'n cael ei gyhuddo o ladd a'r perthynas agosaf sydd am ddial arno. 25Rhaid i'r bobl amddiffyn y lladdwr rhag y perthynas agosaf sydd am ddial arno. A rhaid anfon y lladdwr i fyw yn y dref loches agosaf. Bydd rhaid iddo aros yno nes bydd yr archoffeiriad, gafodd ei eneinio gyda'r olew cysegredig, wedi marw. 26Ond os ydy'r un sy'n cael ei gyhuddo o'r drosedd yn gadael y dref loches mae wedi dianc iddi, 27a perthynas agosaf yr un gafodd ei lofruddio yn dial arno a'i ladd, fydd hynny ddim yn cael ei ystyried yn llofruddiaeth. 28Dylai fod wedi aros yn y dref loches nes i'r archoffeiriad farw. Ar ôl i'r archoffeiriad farw, mae'n rhydd i fynd yn ôl adre. 29“‘Dyma fydd y drefn gyfreithiol ar hyd y cenedlaethau, ble bynnag fyddwch chi'n byw. 30Mae pob llofrudd i gael ei ddienyddio, ond rhaid bod tystion. Dydy un tyst ddim yn ddigon i rywun gael ei ddedfrydu i farwolaeth. 31A rhaid peidio derbyn arian yn lle rhoi'r llofrudd i farwolaeth. Rhaid i bob llofrudd gael ei ddienyddio. 32Rhaid peidio derbyn arian chwaith i ollwng rhywun sydd wedi dianc i dref loches yn rhydd, fel ei fod yn gallu mynd yn ôl adre i fyw cyn marwolaeth yr archoffeiriad. 33Peidiwch llygru'r tir lle dych chi'n byw – mae llofruddiaeth yn llygru'r tir! A does dim byd yn gwneud iawn am lofruddiaeth ond dienyddio'r llofrudd. 34Peidiwch gwneud y tir ble dych chi'n byw yn aflan, achos dyna ble dw i'n byw hefyd. Fi ydy'r Arglwydd sy'n byw gyda fy mhobl Israel.’”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
