Y llwythau i'r dwyrain o'r Iorddonen
(Deuteronomium 3:12-22) 1Roedd gan lwythau Reuben a Gad niferoedd enfawr o wartheg. Pan welon nhw y tir yn Iaser a Gilead, roedden nhw'n gweld ei fod yn ddelfrydol i gadw gwartheg. 2Felly dyma nhw'n mynd at Moses, Eleasar yr offeiriad, a'r arweinwyr eraill. A dyma nhw'n dweud: 3“Mae gynnon ni lot fawr o wartheg, ac mae'r tir wnaeth yr Arglwydd ei roi yn nwylo pobl Israel yn ddelfrydol i gadw gwartheg – ardaloedd Ataroth, Dibon, Iaser, Nimra, Cheshbon, Eleale, Sebam, Nebo a Beon. 5Os ydyn ni wedi'ch plesio chi, plîs rhowch y tir yma i ni i'w etifeddu. Peidiwch mynd â ni ar draws yr Afon Iorddonen.” 6A dyma Moses yn ateb pobl llwythau Gad a Reuben, “Ydy'n deg fod rhaid i bawb arall fynd i ryfel, tra dych chi'n aros yma? 7Ydych chi'n trïo stopio gweddill pobl Israel rhag croesi drosodd i'r tir mae'r Arglwydd wedi ei roi iddyn nhw? 8Dyma'n union beth wnaeth eich tadau chi yn Cadesh-barnea pan anfonais nhw i archwilio'r wlad. 9Ar ôl mynd draw i ddyffryn Eshcol i weld y tir dyma nhw'n annog pobl Israel i beidio mynd mewn i'r wlad roedd yr Arglwydd yn ei roi iddyn nhw. 10Roedd yr Arglwydd yn wirioneddol flin gyda nhw, ac meddai, 11‘Am eu bod nhw wedi bod yn anufudd i mi, fydd neb dros ugain oed, gafodd eu hachub o'r Aifft, yn cael gweld y tir wnes ei addo i Abraham, Isaac a Jacob! 12Neb ond y ddau fuodd yn gwbl ffyddlon i mi – Caleb fab Jeffwnne y Cenesiad, a Josua fab Nwn.’ 13Roedd yr Arglwydd wedi gwylltio'n lân gyda nhw, a gwnaeth iddyn nhw grwydro yn yr anialwch am bedwar deg o flynyddoedd – nes roedd y genhedlaeth wnaeth y drwg wedi mynd. 14A dyma chi nawr – criw arall o bechaduriaid – yn gwneud yn union yr un peth! Dych chi'n gwneud yr Arglwydd yn fwy dig byth gyda'i bobl Israel! 15Os gwnewch chi droi cefn arno, bydd e'n gadael pobl Israel yn yr anialwch eto. Byddan nhw'n cael eu dinistrio, ac arnoch chi fydd y bai!” 16Dyma nhw'n dod at Moses a dweud wrtho, “Gad i ni adeiladu corlannau i'n hanifeiliaid, a trefi i'n plant fyw ynddyn nhw. 17Ond byddwn ni bob amser yn barod i fod ar flaen y gâd yn arwain pobl Israel i ryfel, nes byddan nhw wedi setlo yn eu gwlad. Bydd ein plant a'n teuluoedd yn aros yn y trefi fyddwn ni wedi eu hadeiladu, fel bod nhw'n saff rhag y bobl sy'n byw o'u cwmpas nhw. 18Wnawn ni ddim mynd adre nes bydd pawb yn Israel wedi cael y tir sydd i fod iddyn nhw. 19A fyddwn ni ddim yn disgwyl etifeddu unrhyw dir yr ochr draw i Afon Iorddonen, am ein bod ni wedi cael y tir yma, sydd i'r dwyrain o'r afon.” 20Dyma Moses yn ateb, “Os gwnewch chi hyn, a paratoi eich hunain i fynd i ryfel o flaen yr Arglwydd; 21os bydd eich milwyr yn croesi'r Iorddonen ac yn aros nes bydd yr Arglwydd wedi gyrru ei elynion i gyd allan, 22a'r Arglwydd wedi concro'r wlad, cewch ddod yn ôl yma. Byddwch wedi cyflawni eich dyletswydd i'r Arglwydd ac i Israel. A bydd y tir yma yn perthyn i chi yng ngolwg Duw. 23Ond os na wnewch chi gadw'ch gair, byddwch wedi pechu yn erbyn yr Arglwydd. Byddwch chi'n talu am eich pechod yn y diwedd. 24Felly ewch ati i adeiladu trefi i'ch plant a chorlannau i'ch anifeiliaid, ond yna gwnewch beth dych chi wedi addo'i wneud.” 25A dyma bobl llwythau Gad a Reuben yn ateb, “Bydd dy weision yn gwneud yn union fel mae ein meistr yn dweud. 26Bydd ein gwragedd a'n plant, ein defaid a'n hanifeiliaid i gyd yn aros yma yn Gilead, 27ond byddwn ni'r dynion i gyd yn croesi'r afon i ymladd dros yr Arglwydd, fel y dwedaist ti.” 28Felly dyma Moses yn rhoi gorchmynion am hyn i Eleasar yr offeiriad, Josua fab Nwn, ac i arweinwyr eraill llwythau Israel. 29“Os bydd y dynion o lwythau Gad a Reuben yn croesi'r Iorddonen gyda chi i ymladd ym mrwydrau'r Arglwydd, pan fyddwch chi wedi concro'r wlad rhaid i chi roi tir Gilead iddyn nhw. 30Ond os byddan nhw'n gwrthod croesi drosodd i ymladd gyda chi, rhaid iddyn nhw dderbyn tir yn Canaan, fel pawb arall.” 31A dyma bobl Gad a Reuben yn dweud eto, “Byddwn ni'n gwneud fel mae'r Arglwydd wedi dweud. 32Byddwn ni'n croesi drosodd i wlad Canaan yn barod i ymladd dros yr Arglwydd, a byddwn ni'n cael y tir sydd yr ochr yma i'r Iorddonen.” 33Felly dyma Moses yn rhoi'r tir yma i lwythau Gad a Reuben, a hanner llwyth Manasse fab Joseff: tiriogaeth Sihon, brenin yr Amoriaid, a tiriogaeth Og, brenin Bashan. Cawson nhw'r tir i gyd gyda'r trefi a'r tiroedd o'u cwmpas. 34Dyma lwyth Gad yn ailadeiladu Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer, 35Atroth-shoffan, Iaser, Iogbeha, 36Beth-nimra a Beth-haran yn drefi caerog amddiffynnol, gyda corlannau i'w hanifeiliaid. 37Dyma lwyth Reuben yn ailadeiladu Cheshbon, Eleale, Ciriathaim, 38Nebo, Baal-meon a Sibma, a rhoi enwau newydd i bob un. 39A dyma feibion Machir fab Manasse yn mynd i dref Gilead, a'i chymryd oddi ar yr Amoriaid oedd yn byw yno. 40A dyma Moses yn rhoi Gilead i ddisgynyddion Machir fab Manasse, a dyma nhw'n symud i fyw yno. 41Wedyn dyma ddisgynyddion Jair fab Manasse yn dal nifer o'r pentrefi bach o gwmpas Gilead, a'i galw nhw yn Hafoth-jair (sef ‛Pentrefi Jair‛). 42A dyma Nobach yn dal tref Cenath a'r pentrefi o'i chwmpas, a rhoi ei enw ei hun, Nobach, i'r ardal.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
