Y rhyfel yn erbyn Midian
1Dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses: 2“Dial ar bobl Midian am beth wnaethon nhw i bobl Israel. Ar ôl i ti wneud hynny byddi di'n mynd at dy hynafiaid sydd wedi marw.” 3Felly dyma Moses yn dweud wrth y bobl, “Dewiswch ddynion i fynd i ryfel yn erbyn Midian, ac i ddial arnyn nhw ar ran yr Arglwydd. 4Rhaid anfon mil o ddynion o bob llwyth i'r frwydr.” 5Felly dyma nhw'n dewis mil o ddynion o bob llwyth yn Israel – un deg dau mil o ddynion arfog yn barod i ymladd. 6A dyma Moses yn eu hanfon nhw allan, gyda Phineas (mab Eleasar yr offeiriad) yn gofalu am y taclau o'r cysegr a'r utgyrn i alw'r fyddin. 7A dyma nhw'n mynd allan i ymladd yn erbyn Midian, fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi gorchymyn i Moses. Dyma nhw'n lladd y dynion i gyd, 8gan gynnwys pum brenin Midian, sef Efi, Recem, Swr, Hur, a Reba, a hefyd Balaam fab Beor. 9Yna dyma fyddin Israel yn cymryd merched a phlant Midian yn gaeth. Dyma nhw hefyd yn cymryd eu gwartheg, defaid, a popeth arall o werth oddi arnyn nhw. 10Wedyn dyma nhw'n llosgi eu trefi a'u pentrefi nhw i gyd. 11Dyma nhw'n ysbeilio ac yn dwyn popeth, gan gynnwys y bobl a'r anifeiliaid i gyd. 12A dyma nhw'n mynd â'r cwbl yn ôl at Moses ac Eleasar yr offeiriad, a holl bobl Israel oedd yn gwersylla ar wastatir Moab, wrth yr Afon Iorddonen gyferbyn â Jericho. 13Aeth Moses ac Eleasar a'r arweinwyr eraill i gyfarfod y fyddin tu allan i'r gwersyll. 14Ond dyma Moses yn gwylltio'n lân gyda swyddogion y fyddin – y capteiniaid ar unedau o fil a'r unedau o gant oedd wedi dod yn ôl o'r frwydr. 15“Pam ydych chi wedi cadw'r merched yn fyw?” meddai wrthyn nhw. 16“Dyma'r union bobl wnaeth wrando ar Balaam, a gwneud i bobl Israel wrthryfela yn erbyn yr Arglwydd yn y digwyddiad yn Peor! A'r canlyniad oedd y pla ofnadwy wnaeth daro pobl yr Arglwydd! 17Felly lladdwch y bechgyn i gyd, a lladdwch bob gwraig sydd wedi cysgu gyda dyn. 18Ond cewch gadw'n fyw y merched ifanc hynny sydd heb eto gael rhyw.” 19“Pwy bynnag sydd wedi lladd rhywun, neu wedi cyffwrdd corff marw, rhaid i chi aros tu allan i'r gwersyll am saith diwrnod. A rhaid i chi a'r merched dych chi wedi eu cymryd yn gaeth fynd drwy'r ddefod o buro eich hunain ar y trydydd diwrnod a'r seithfed diwrnod. 20Rhaid i chi lanhau eich dillad i gyd, a popeth sydd wedi ei wneud o groen anifail, blew gafr neu bren.” 21Yna dyma Eleasar yr offeiriad yn dweud wrth y dynion oedd wedi bod yn ymladd yn y frwydr, “Dyma reol roddodd yr Arglwydd orchymyn i Moses i ni ei chadw: 22Mae popeth sydd wedi ei wneud o aur, arian, pres, haearn, tin neu blwm 23(popeth sydd ddim yn llosgi) i gael ei buro drwy dân, a bydd yn lân yn seremonïol, ond rhaid iddo gael ei daenellu gyda dŵr y puro hefyd. Mae popeth fyddai'n llosgi yn y tân i gael ei buro gyda'r dŵr yn unig. 24Yna rhaid i chi olchi eich dillad ar y seithfed diwrnod. Wedyn byddwch chi'n lân yn seremonïol, a gallwch ddod yn ôl i mewn i'r gwersyll.”Rhannu'r ysbail
25Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses: 26“Dw i eisiau i ti ac Eleasar yr offeiriad, a'r arweinwyr eraill, gyfri'r ysbail gafodd ei gasglu i gyd – yn ferched a phlant ac yn anifeiliaid. 27Yna rhannu'r cwbl rhwng y dynion aeth i ymladd yn y frwydr, a gweddill pobl Israel. 28Ond rhaid cymryd cyfran i'r Arglwydd o siâr y milwyr fuodd yn ymladd: Cyfran yr Arglwydd o'r caethion, y gwartheg, asynnod a defaid, fydd un o bob pum cant. 29Mae hwn i'w gymryd o siâr y milwyr, a'i roi i Eleasar yr offeiriad i'w gyflwyno yn offrwm i'r Arglwydd. 30Yna o'r hanner arall, sef siâr pobl Israel, rhaid cymryd un o bob hanner cant o'r caethion, y gwartheg, yr asynnod, a'r defaid. Un o bob hanner cant o'r anifeiliaid i gyd, i'w cyflwyno i'r Lefiaid sy'n gofalu am y Tabernacl i'r Arglwydd.” 31Felly dyma Moses ac Eleasar yr offeiriad yn gwneud yn union fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi dweud wrth Moses. 32A dyma swm yr ysbail roedd y dynion wedi ei gasglu: 675,000 o ddefaid,3372,000 o wartheg,

36Siâr y dynion oedd wedi mynd i ymladd yn y rhyfel oedd: 337,500 o ddefaid

41Felly dyma Moses yn rhoi'r siâr oedd i'w gyflwyno'n offrwm i'r Arglwydd i Eleasar yr offeiriad, yn union fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi dweud wrtho. 42A dyma oedd siâr pobl Israel, sef hanner arall yr ysbail: 43675,000 o ddefaid,

47A dyma Moses yn cymryd un o bob hanner cant o siâr pobl Israel, a'i roi i'r Lefiaid oedd yn gofalu am y Tabernacl i'r Arglwydd, yn union fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi dweud wrtho. 48Yna dyma'r swyddogion milwrol yn dod at Moses – capteiniaid yr unedau o fil ac o gant. 49A dyma nhw'n dweud wrtho, “Mae dy weision wedi cyfri'r dynion fuodd yn ymladd yn y frwydr gyda ni. Dŷn ni wedi colli neb! 50Felly dŷn ni wedi dod ag offrwm i'r Arglwydd o'r tlysau aur wnaethon ni eu casglu – breichledau, modrwyau, clustdlysau a chadwyni. Mae hyn i wneud pethau'n iawn rhyngon ni â Duw.” 51Dyma Moses ac Eleasar yn cymryd yr aur ganddyn nhw – pob math o dlysau cywrain. 52Roedd yr aur i gyd, gafodd ei gyflwyno i'r Arglwydd gan y capteiniaid, yn pwyso bron ddau gan cilogram. 53(Roedd pob un o'r dynion wedi cymryd peth o'r ysbail iddo'i hun.) 54Felly dyma Moses ac Eleasar yr offeiriad yn derbyn yr aur gan y capteiniaid, ac yn mynd â'r cwbl i Babell Presenoldeb Duw i atgoffa'r Arglwydd o bobl Israel.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
