(Exodus 17:1-7) 1Dyma bobl Israel i gyd yn cyrraedd anialwch Sin. Roedd hyn yn y mis cyntaf, a dyma nhw'n aros yn Cadesh. Dyna lle buodd Miriam farw, a lle cafodd ei chladdu. 2Doedd dim dŵr i'r bobl yno, a dyma nhw'n casglu at ei gilydd yn erbyn Moses ac Aaron. 3A dyma nhw'n dechrau ffraeo gyda Moses: “Byddai lot gwell petaen ni wedi marw o flaen yr Arglwydd gyda'n brodyr! 4Pam wyt ti wedi dod â phobl yr Arglwydd i'r anialwch yma? Er mwyn i ni a'n hanifeiliaid farw yma? 5Pam wnest ti ddod â ni allan o'r Aifft i'r lle ofnadwy yma? Does dim cnydau'n tyfu yma, dim ffigys, gwinwydd na phomgranadau. Does dim hyd yn oed ddŵr i'w yfed!” 6Dyma Moses ac Aaron yn mynd oddi wrth y bobl at y fynedfa i Babell Presenoldeb Duw. A dyma nhw'n plygu yno a'i hwynebau ar lawr. A dyma nhw'n gweld ysblander yr Arglwydd yno. 7Dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses: 8“Cymer dy ffon. Dw i eisiau i ti ac Aaron dy frawd gasglu'r bobl i gyd at ei gilydd. Yna, o flaen pawb, dw i eisiau i ti orchymyn i'r graig roi dŵr. Yna bydd dŵr yn tywallt o'r graig, a bydd y bobl a'r anifeiliaid yn cael yfed ohono.” 9Felly dyma Moses yn cymryd y ffon o'r lle roedd yn cael ei chadw o flaen yr Arglwydd. 10A dyma Moses ac Aaron yn galw'r bobl at ei gilydd o flaen y graig. Dyma fe'n dweud wrthyn nhw, “Gwrandwch, chi rebeliaid! Oes rhaid i ni ddod â dŵr allan o'r graig yma i chi?” 11A dyma Moses yn codi ei law ac yn taro'r graig ddwywaith gyda'r ffon, a dyma'r dŵr yn llifo allan ohoni. Cafodd y bobl a'r anifeiliaid ddigonedd i'w yfed. 12Ond dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses ac Aaron, “Am eich bod chi ddim wedi trystio fi ddigon i ddangos i bobl Israel fy mod i'n wahanol, fyddwch chi ddim yn cael arwain y bobl yma i'r wlad dw i'n ei rhoi iddyn nhw.” 13Cafodd y lle ei alw yn ‛Ffynnon Meriba‛, lle roedd y bobl wedi dadlau gyda'r Arglwydd, ac yntau wedi dangos iddyn nhw ei fod e i gael ei anrhydeddu, yn Dduw sanctaidd, gwahanol.Brenin Edom yn gwrthod caniatâd i groesi ei dir
14Dyma Moses yn anfon negeswyr o Cadesh at frenin Edom: “Neges oddi wrth dy berthnasau, pobl Israel: Ti'n gwybod mor galed mae pethau wedi bod arnon ni. Aeth ein hynafiaid i lawr i'r Aifft, 15a buon ni'n byw yno am amser hir. Cawson ni'n cam-drin am genedlaethau gan yr Eifftiaid. 16Ond yna dyma ni'n galw ar yr Arglwydd am help, a dyma fe'n gwrando arnon ni ac anfon angel i ddod â ni allan o'r Aifft. A bellach, dŷn ni yn Cadesh, sy'n dref ar y ffin gyda dy wlad di. 17Wnei di roi caniatâd i ni groesi dy dir? Wnawn ni ddim niwed i unrhyw gnydau na gwinllannoedd, na hyd yn oed yfed dŵr o unrhyw ffynnon. Byddwn ni'n aros ar Briffordd y Brenin yr holl ffordd, nes byddwn ni wedi croesi'r ffin yr ochr arall.” 18Ond ateb brenin Edom oedd, “Na. Well i chi gadw allan o'r wlad yma, neu bydda i'n dod â byddin yn eich erbyn chi!” 19A dyma bobl Israel yn dweud eto, “Byddwn ni'n cadw ar y briffordd. Os gwnawn ni neu'n hanifeiliaid yfed eich dŵr chi, gwnawn ni dalu amdano. Y cwbl dŷn ni'n ofyn amdano ydy'r hawl i groesi'r wlad ar droed.” 20Ond dyma fe'n ateb eto, “Na, gewch chi ddim croesi.” A dyma fe'n anfon ei fyddin allan i'w rhwystro nhw – roedd hi'n fyddin fawr gref. 21Felly am fod Edom wedi gwrthod gadael i Israel groesi eu ffiniau nhw, dyma bobl Israel yn troi'n ôl.Aaron yn marw
22Dyma nhw i gyd yn gadael Cadesh, ac yn teithio i Fynydd Hor. 23A dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Moses ac Aaron pan oedden nhw wrth Fynydd Hor, ar ffin gwlad Edom: 24“Mae'n bryd i Aaron fynd at ei hynafiaid – mae'n mynd i farw yma. Fydd e ddim yn cael mynd i mewn i'r wlad dw i wedi ei rhoi i bobl Israel am fod y ddau ohonoch chi wedi mynd yn groes i beth ddywedais i wrthoch chi wrth Ffynnon Meriba. 25Dw i eisiau i ti gymryd Aaron a'i fab Eleasar i gopa mynydd Hor. 26Yno dw i am i ti gymryd gwisgoedd offeiriadol Aaron, a gwisgo ei fab Eleasar gyda nhw. A bydd Aaron yn marw yna, ar y mynydd.” 27Felly dyma Moses yn gwneud fel roedd yr Arglwydd wedi dweud. Roedd y bobl i gyd yn eu gwylio nhw yn mynd i fyny Mynydd Hor. 28Wedyn dyma Moses yn cymryd gwisgoedd offeiriadol Aaron, ac yn gwisgo Eleasar gyda nhw. A dyma Aaron yn marw yno, ar ben y mynydd. Wedyn dyma Moses ac Eleasar yn mynd yn ôl i lawr. 29Pan welodd y bobl fod Aaron wedi marw, dyma nhw i gyd yn galaru amdano am fis.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
