Gwrthwynebiad swyddogion y dalaith
1Pan glywodd Sanbalat ein bod ni'n ailadeiladu'r waliau dyma fe'n gwylltio'n lân a dechrau galw'r Iddewon yn bob enw dan haul. 2Dyma fe'n dechrau dweud o flaen ei ffrindiau a milwyr Samaria, “Beth mae'r Iddewon pathetig yma'n meddwl maen nhw'n wneud? Ydyn nhw'n meddwl y gallan nhw wneud y gwaith eu hunain? Fyddan nhw'n offrymu aberthau eto? Ydych chi'n meddwl y gwnân nhw orffen y gwaith heddiw? Ydyn nhw'n meddwl y gallan nhw ddod â'r cerrig yma sydd wedi llosgi yn ôl yn fyw?” 3A dyma Tobeia o Ammon, oedd yn sefyll gydag e, yn dweud, “Byddai'r wal maen nhw'n ei chodi yn chwalu petai llwynog yn dringo arni!” 4“O ein Duw, gwrando arnyn nhw'n ein bychanu ni! Tro eu dirmyg arnyn nhw eu hunain! Gwna iddyn nhw gael eu cipio i ffwrdd fel caethion i wlad estron! 5Paid maddau iddyn nhw na cuddio eu pechodau o dy olwg! a Maen nhw wedi cythruddo'r rhai sy'n adeiladu!” 6Felly dyma ni'n ailadeiladu'r wal. Roedd hi'n gyfan hyd at hanner ei huchder ac roedd y bobl yn frwd i weithio. 7Ond pan glywodd Sanbalat a Tobeia, yr Arabiaid, pobl Ammon a pobl Ashdod ▼▼4:7 Sanbalat … Ashdod Roedd y gwrthwynebiad o bob cyfeiriad – Sanbalat, o Samaria i'r gogledd, yr Arabiaid o'r de, Tobeia a pobl Ammon o'r dwyrain, a pobl Ashdod o'r gorllewin.
fod y gwaith o adfer waliau Jerwsalem yn dod yn ei flaen cystal, a bod y bylchau yn y wal yn cael eu cau, roedden nhw'n wyllt. 8A dyma nhw'n cynllwynio gyda'i gilydd i ymosod ar Jerwsalem a chreu helynt. 9Felly dyma ni'n gweddïo ar ein Duw, a gosod gwylwyr i edrych allan amdanyn nhw ddydd a nos. 10Ond yna dyma bobl Jwda yn dechrau dweud, “Mae'r gweithwyr yn blino a stryffaglu,ac mae cymaint o rwbel.
Does dim gobaith i ni adeiladu
a gorffen y gwaith ar y wal!”
11Roedd ein gelynion yn brolio, “Cyn iddyn nhw sylweddoli beth sy'n digwydd, byddwn ni yn eu canol yn eu lladd nhw, a bydd y gwaith yn dod i ben!” 12Roedd yr Iddewon oedd yn byw wrth eu hymyl nhw wedi'n rhybuddio ni lawer gwaith, “Dylech chi ddod yn ôl aton ni, maen nhw'n cynllwyn i ymosod.” 13Felly dyma fi'n gosod pobl i amddiffyn y rhannau isaf, tu ôl i'r wal yn y mannau mwyaf agored. Gosodais nhw bob yn glan, gyda cleddyfau, gwaywffyn a bwâu. 14Yna ar ôl edrych dros y cwbl, dyma fi'n codi i annerch yr arweinwyr, y swyddogion, a gweddill y bobl, a dweud, “Peidiwch bod a'u hofn nhw. Cofiwch mor fawr a rhyfeddol ydy'r Meistr! Byddwch barod i ymladd dros eich pobl, eich meibion, eich merched, eich gwragedd a'ch cartrefi!” 15Pan glywodd ein gelynion ein bod ni'n gwybod am eu cynllwyn, dyma Duw yn eu rhwystro nhw. Felly dyma pawb yn mynd yn ôl i weithio ar y wal. 16O'r diwrnod hwnnw ymlaen roedd hanner y dynion ifanc oedd gen i yn adeiladu a'r hanner arall yn amddiffyn. Roedd ganddyn nhw arfwisg, ac roedden nhw'n cario gwaywffyn, tariannau a bwâu. Roedd y swyddogion yn sefyll tu ôl i bobl Jwda 17oedd yn adeiladu'r wal. Roedd y rhai oedd yn cario beichiau yn gwneud hynny gydag un llaw, ac yn dal arf yn y llaw arall. 18Ac roedd gan bob un o'r adeiladwyr gleddyf wedi ei strapio am ei ganol tra roedd yn gweithio. Ond roedd canwr y corn hwrdd ▼

yn aros gyda mi. 19Yna dyma fi'n dweud wrth yr arweinwyr, y swyddogion a gweddill y bobl, “Mae gynnon ni lot o waith caled i'w wneud, a dŷn ni'n bell oddi wrth ein gilydd ar y wal. 20Pan fyddwch chi'n clywed y corn hwrdd yn cael ei ganu, dylai pawb gasglu at ei gilydd yno. Bydd ein Duw yn ymladd droson ni!” 21Felly dyma ni'n bwrw ymlaen gyda'r gwaith o fore gwyn tan nos, gyda hanner ohonon ni yn cario gwaywffyn. 22Peth arall ddwedais i bryd hynny oedd, “Dylai pawb aros dros nos yn Jerwsalem (y gweithwyr a'r rhai sy'n eu hamddiffyn). Byddan nhw'n gwarchod y ddinas dros nos, ac yn gweithio yn ystod y dydd.” 23Roedden ni i gyd yn cysgu yn ein dillad gwaith – fi a'm gweision, y gweithwyr a'r gwylwyr oedd gyda ni. Ac roedd pawb yn cario arf yn ei law bob amser.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
