1Yna yn mis Nisan ▼▼2:1 Nisan neu Abib, sef mis cyntaf y calendr Hebreig, o tua canol Mawrth i ganol Ebrill.
yn ugeinfed flwyddyn teyrnasiad Artaxerxes, ron i'n gweini ar y brenin fel arfer, a mynd â gwin iddo. Ond dyma'r tro cyntaf i mi erioed edrych yn drist o'i flaen. 2A dyma'r brenin yn gofyn i mi, “Pam wyt ti'n edrych mor ddiflas? Dwyt ti ddim yn sâl. Ond mae'n amlwg fod rhywbeth yn dy boeni di.” Pan ddwedodd hynny, roedd gen i ofn. 3A dyma fi'n ei ateb, “O frenin, boed i ti fyw am byth! Sut alla i beidio edrych yn drist pan mae'r ddinas ble mae fy hynafiaid wedi eu claddu yn adfeilion, a'i giatiau wedi eu llosgi?” 4A dyma'r brenin yn gofyn, “Beth wyt ti eisiau gen i?” Dyma fi'n gweddïo'n dawel ar Dduw y nefoedd, 5ac yna dweud wrth y brenin, “Os ydy'r brenin yn gweld yn dda, ac os ydy'ch gwas wedi'ch plesio chi, plîs anfonwch fi yn ôl i Jwda lle mae fy hynafiaid wedi eu claddu, i adeiladu'r ddinas eto.” 6Yna dyma'r brenin, gyda'i wraig yn eistedd wrth ei ymyl, yn gofyn, “Am faint fyddet ti i ffwrdd, a pryd fyddet ti yn ôl?” Gan fod y brenin yn barod i adael i mi fynd, dyma fi'n rhoi dyddiad iddo. 7A dyma fi'n dweud wrtho, “Os ydy'ch mawrhydi yn gweld yn dda, wnewch chi roi dogfennau i mi eu dangos i lywodraethwyr Traws-Ewffrates, i wneud yn siŵr fy mod yn cyrraedd Jwda'n saff. 8Hefyd, llythyr i Asaff, sy'n gofalu am goedwig y brenin, iddo roi coed i mi – coed i wneud trawstiau ar gyfer giatiau'r gaer sydd wrth ymyl y deml, waliau'r ddinas, a'r tŷ fydda i'n aros ynddo.” A dyma'r brenin yn rhoi caniatâd i mi, achos roedd hi'n amlwg fod Duw gyda mi. 9Dyma fi'n mynd at lywodraethwyr Traws-Ewffrates, a cyflwyno'r dogfennau gefais gan y brenin iddyn nhw. Roedd y brenin wedi rhoi swyddogion o'r fyddin a marchogion i fynd gyda mi. 10Ond doedd Sanbalat ▼▼2:10 Sanbalat Enw Babilonaidd sy'n golygu “Mae Sin (duw'r lleuad) wedi rhoi bywyd”
o Horon, a Tobeia ▼▼2:10 Tobeia Enw sy'n golygu, “Mae'r Arglwydd yn dda”
(y swyddog o Ammon), ddim yn hapus o gwbl fod rhywun wedi cael ei anfon i helpu pobl Israel. 11Dri diwrnod ar ôl i mi gyrraedd Jerwsalem, 12dyma fi'n codi ganol nos a mynd allan gyda'r ychydig ddynion oedd gen i. Yr unig anifail oedd gyda ni oedd yr un roeddwn i'n reidio ar ei gefn. Doeddwn i ddim wedi dweud wrth neb beth roedd Duw wedi rhoi awydd yn fy nghalon i i'w wneud yn Jerwsalem. 13Dyma fi'n mynd allan drwy Giât y Dyffryn ganol nos, a troi i gyfeiriad Ffynnon y Ddraig a Giât y Sbwriel i edrych ar gyflwr y waliau oedd wedi eu chwalu a'r giatiau oedd wedi eu llosgi. 14Es ymlaen at Giât y Ffynnon a Pwll y Brenin, ond wedyn doedd dim posib i'r anifail fynd ddim pellach. 15Tra roedd hi'n dal yn dywyll dyma fi'n mynd i lawr i ddyffryn Cidron ac edrych ar gyflwr y waliau o'r fan honno. Wedyn trois yn ôl, a mynd yn ôl i'r ddinas drwy Giât y Dyffryn. 16Doedd swyddogion y ddinas ddim yn gwybod ble roeddwn i wedi bod, na beth roeddwn i wedi bod yn ei wneud. Doeddwn i ddim wedi dweud wrth neb o'r Iddewon hyd yn hyn – yr offeiriaid, y bobl fawr na'r swyddogion, nac unrhyw un arall o'r gweithwyr. 17Yna dyma fi'n dweud wrthyn nhw, “Dych chi'n gwybod mor anodd ydy pethau yma: mae Jerwsalem yn adfeilion a'i giatiau wedi eu llosgi. Dewch! Gadewch i ni ailadeiladu wal Jerwsalem, a dod â'r sefyllfa warthus yma i ben.” 18Dwedais yr hanes wrthyn nhw, fel roedd Duw wedi bod gyda mi, a beth roedd y brenin wedi ei ddweud wrtho i. A dyma nhw'n ymateb, “Gadewch i ni ddechrau adeiladu ar unwaith!” A dyma nhw'n annog ei gilydd i fynd ati i wneud y gwaith pwysig yma. 19Ond pan glywodd Sanbalat o Horon, Tobeia, y swyddog o Ammon, a Geshem yr Arab ▼▼2:19 Geshem yr Arab Yn ôl ffynonellau eraill, Geshem oedd brenin Cedar, yng ngogledd Arabia. Roedd yn arwain cynghrair enfawr o lwythau Arabaidd yn ymestyn o anialwch Syria i ddelta'r Afon Nil.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
