Gwahanu oddi wrth bobl estron
1Ar yr un diwrnod, pan oedd Cyfraith Moses yn cael ei darllen i bawb, dyma nhw'n darganfod fod pobl Ammon a Moab wedi eu gwahardd am byth rhag perthyn i gynulleidfa pobl Dduw. 2Y rheswm am hynny oedd eu bod wedi gwrthod rhoi bwyd a dŵr i bobl Israel a, ac wedi talu Balaam i'w melltithio nhw (er fod ein Duw ni wedi troi y felltith yn fendith!) b 3Felly pan glywon nhw hyn yn y Gyfraith, dyma pawb oedd o dras cymysg yn cael eu taflu allan.Diwygiadau Nehemeia
4Beth amser cyn hyn i gyd, roedd Eliashif yr offeiriad wedi ei benodi i fod yn gyfrifol am y stordai yn y deml. Roedd Eliashif yn perthyn i Tobeia, 5ac roedd wedi gadael i Tobeia ddefnyddio un o stordai y deml. Pethau'r deml oedd yn arfer cael eu storio yno – yr offrwm o rawn, y thus, offer y deml, a hefyd y degfed rhan o'r grawn, sudd grawnwin, ac olew olewydd oedd i gael ei roi i'r Lefiaid, y cantorion, gofalwyr y giatiau, a cyfran yr offeiriaid. 6Doeddwn i ddim yn byw yn Jerwsalem ar y pryd. Y flwyddyn pan oedd Artaxerxes, brenin Babilon, wedi bod yn teyrnasu ers tri deg dwy o flynyddoedd ▼▼13:6 433–432 CC Erbyn hyn roedd Nehemeia wedi bod yn llywodraethwr ers 12 mlynedd – gw. roeddwn i wedi mynd ato. Ond wedyn, beth amser ar ôl hynny, roeddwn i wedi gofyn am ganiatâd ganddo 7i ddod yn ôl i Jerwsalem. A dyna pryd wnes i ddarganfod y drwg roedd Eliashif wedi ei wneud yn rhoi ystafell yng nghanol teml Dduw i Tobeia ei defnyddio. 8Roeddwn i wedi gwylltio'n lân, a dyma fi'n gorchymyn clirio popeth oedd biau Tobeia allan o'r stordy. 9Yna dyma fi'n dweud fod y stordai i gael eu puro cyn i offer y deml gael ei roi yn ôl ynddyn nhw, gyda'r offrwm o rawn a'r thus. 10Dyma fi'n darganfod hefyd fod pobl ddim wedi bod yn rhoi eu cyfran o rawn i'r Lefiaid, ac felly roedd y Lefiaid a'r cantorion i gyd wedi gadael i weithio ar y tir. 11Felly dyma fi'n mynd i gwyno i swyddogion y ddinas, a gofyn “Pam mae teml Dduw yn cael ei hesgeuluso?” Wedyn dyma fi'n galw'r Lefiaid yn ôl at ei gilydd, a rhannu eu cyfrifoldebau iddyn nhw. 12Ar ôl hyn dechreuodd pobl Jwda i gyd ddod a'r ddegfed ran o'r grawn, sudd grawnwin ac olew olewydd i'r stordai eto. 13Dyma fi'n gwneud Shelemeia yr offeiriad, Sadoc yr ysgrifennydd, a Lefiad o'r enw Pedaia yn gyfrifol am y stordai, a Chanan (oedd yn fab i Saccwr ac ŵyr i Mataneia) i'w helpu. Roedden nhw'n ddynion y gallwn i eu trystio. Eu cyfrifoldeb nhw fyddai goruchwylio dosbarthu'r cwbl i'w cydweithwyr. 14O Dduw, plîs cofia beth dw i wedi ei wneud. Paid anghofio'r cwbl dw i wedi ei wneud ar ran teml fy Nuw a'r gwasanaethau ynddi. Ail sefydlu rheolau'r Saboth
15Yr adeg yna hefyd dyma fi'n darganfod pobl yn Jwda oedd yn sathru grawnwin ar y Saboth. Roedden nhw'n llwytho asynnod a dod â'u cnydau i'w gwerthu yn Jerwsalem ar y Saboth – grawn, gwin, grawnwin, ffigys, a pob math o bethau eraill. Dyma fi'n eu ceryddu nhw y diwrnod roedden nhw'n gwerthu'r cynnyrch yma i gyd. 16Roedd pobl Tyrus oedd yn byw yno yn dod â physgod a pob math o gynnyrch arall i'w werthu i bobl Jwda ar y Saboth. Roedd hyn i gyd yn digwydd yn Jerwsalem o bobman! 17Felly dyma fi'n mynd at bobl bwysig Jwda i wneud cwyn swyddogol. “Sut allwch chi wneud y fath ddrwg? Dych chi'n halogi'r dydd Saboth! 18Onid dyma sut roedd eich hynafiaid yn ymddwyn d, a gwneud i Dduw ddod â'r holl helynt arnon ni a'r ddinas yma? A dyma chi nawr yn gwneud pethau'n waeth, a gwneud Duw'n fwy dig eto gydag Israel drwy halogi'r Saboth fel yma!” 19Dyma fi'n gorchymyn fod giatiau Jerwsalem i gael eu cau pan oedd hi'n dechrau tywyllu cyn y Saboth, a ddim i gael eu hagor nes byddai'r Saboth drosodd. Yna dyma fi'n gosod rhai o'm dynion fy hun i warchod y giatiau a gwneud yn siŵr fod dim nwyddau yn dod i mewn ar y Saboth. 20Arhosodd y masnachwyr a'r rhai oedd yn gwerthu gwahanol nwyddau tu allan i Jerwsalem dros nos unwaith neu ddwy. 21Ond dyma fi'n eu rhybuddio nhw, “Os gwnewch chi aros yma dros nos wrth y wal eto, bydda i'n eich arestio chi!” Wnaethon nhw ddim dod yno ar y Saboth o hynny ymlaen. 22Yna dyma fi'n dweud wrth y Lefiaid am fynd trwy'r ddefod o buro eu hunain, a dod i warchod y giatiau er mwyn cadw'r Saboth yn ddiwrnod sbesial, cysegredig. O Dduw, plîs cofia fy mod i wedi gwneud hyn. Dangos dy gariad rhyfeddol ata i drwy fy arbed i. 23Yr adeg yna hefyd dyma fi'n darganfod fod llawer o Iddewon wedi priodi merched o Ashdod, Ammon a Moab. 24Roedd hanner y plant yn siarad iaith Ashdod neu ieithoedd rhyw bobloedd eraill. Doedden nhw ddim yn gallu siarad Hebraeg. 25Felly dyma fi'n dod â cwyn yn eu herbyn nhw. Dyma fi'n galw melltith arnyn nhw, yn curo rhai o'r dynion, a tynnu eu gwallt. A dyma fi'n gwneud iddyn nhw fynd ar lw o flaen Duw, “Dych chi ddim i roi eich merched yn wragedd i'w meibion nhw, na chymryd eu merched nhw yn wragedd i'ch meibion nac i chi'ch hunain! 26Onid dyma'r math o beth wnaeth i Solomon, brenin Israel, bechu? Doedd dim brenin tebyg iddo drwy'r gwledydd i gyd. Roedd yn annwyl yng ngolwg ei Dduw, a dyma Duw yn ei wneud yn frenin ar Israel gyfan. Ond dyma'r gwragedd o wledydd eraill yn gwneud hyd yn oed iddo fe bechu! 27Felly ydy'n iawn i ni oddef y drwg yma dych chi'n ei wneud? Dych chi'n bod yn anffyddlon i Dduw yn priodi'r merched estron yma!” 28Roedd un o feibion Jehoiada, mab Eliashif yr archoffeiriad, wedi priodi merch Sanbalat o Horon. A dyma fi'n gwneud iddo adael y ddinas. 29O Dduw, paid anghofio beth maen nhw wedi ei wneud. Maen nhw wedi halogi'r offeiriadaeth, a'r ymrwymiad mae offeiriaid a Lefiaid yn ei wneud. 30Felly dyma fi'n eu puro nhw o bob dylanwad estron, ac yn rhoi cyfrifoldebau penodol i'r offeiriaid a'r Lefiaid. 31Dyma fi hefyd yn trefnu amserlen i roi coed i'w losgi ar yr allor, a cynnyrch cyntaf y tir. O Dduw, cofia hyn o'm plaid i.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
