Matthew 16
Hawlio arwydd
(Marc 8:11-13; Luc 12:54-56) 1Daeth Phariseaid a Sadwceaid at Iesu a gofyn iddo brofi pwy oedd drwy wneud rhyw arwydd gwyrthiol. 2Atebodd nhw, “Pan mae'r haul yn machlud dych chi'n dweud, ‘Bydd hi'n braf fory – mae'r awyr yn goch,’ 3ac yna yn y bore, ‘Bydd hi'n stormus heddiw – mae'r awyr yn goch a'r cymylau'n ddu.’ Dych chi'n gwybod sut mae'r tywydd yn argoeli, ond does gynnoch chi ddim syniad sut i ddeall yr arwyddion sydd yma nawr. 4Cenhedlaeth ddrwg ac anffyddlon sy'n gofyn am gael gweld gwyrth fyddai'n arwydd iddyn nhw o pwy ydw i! Yr unig arwydd gân nhw ydy arwydd y proffwyd Jona.” Yna gadawodd nhw a mynd i ffwrdd.Burum y Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid
(Marc 8:14-21) 5Pan groesodd y disgyblion ochr arall y llyn, roedden nhw wedi anghofio mynd â bara gyda nhw. 6“Byddwch yn ofalus,” meddai Iesu wrthyn nhw, “a cadwch draw oddi wrth furum y Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid.” 7Wrth drafod y peth dyma'r disgyblion yn dod i'r casgliad ei fod yn tynnu sylw at y ffaith eu bod heb fynd â bara gyda nhw. 8Roedd Iesu'n gwybod beth oedden nhw'n ei drafod, ac meddai, “Ble mae'ch ffydd chi? Pam dych chi'n poeni eich bod heb fara? 9Ydych chi'n dal ddim yn deall? Ydych chi ddim yn cofio'r pum torth i fwydo'r pum mil, a sawl basgedaid wnaethoch chi eu casglu? a 10Neu'r saith torth i fwydo'r pedair mil, a sawl llond cawell wnaethoch chi eu casglu? b 11Ydych chi ddim yn gweld mod i ddim yn siarad am fara go iawn? Dw i am i chi gadw draw oddi wrth furum y Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid.” 12Roedden nhw'n deall wedyn ei fod ddim sôn am fara go iawn; eisiau iddyn nhw osgoi dysgeidiaeth y Phariseaid a'r Sadwceaid oedd e.Datganiad Pedr
(Marc 8:27-30; Luc 9:18-21) 13Pan gyrhaeddodd Iesu ardal Cesarea Philipi, gofynnodd i'w ddisgyblion, “Pwy mae pobl yn ei ddweud ydw i, Mab y Dyn?” 14“Mae rhai yn dweud Ioan Fedyddiwr,” medden nhw, “eraill yn dweud Elias, ac eraill eto'n dweud Jeremeia neu un o'r proffwydi.” 15“Ond beth amdanoch chi?” meddai. “Pwy dych chi'n ddweud ydw i?” 16Atebodd Simon Pedr, “Ti ydy'r Meseia, Mab y Duw byw.” 17“Rwyt ti wedi dy fendithio'n fawr, Simon fab Jona,” meddai Iesu, “am mai dim person dynol ddangosodd hyn i ti, ond fy Nhad yn y nefoedd. 18A dw i'n dweud wrthyt ti mai ti ydy Pedr (y garreg). A dyma'r graig dw i'n mynd i adeiladu fy eglwys arni hi, a fydd grym marwolaeth ddim yn ei gorchfygu hi. 19Dw i'n mynd i roi allweddi teyrnas yr Un nefol i ti; bydd beth bynnag rwyt ti'n ei rwystro ar y ddaear wedi ei rwystro yn y nefoedd, a bydd beth bynnag rwyt ti'n ei ganiatáu ar y ddaear wedi ei ganiatáu yn y nefoedd.” 20Yna dyma Iesu'n rhybuddio ei ddisgyblion i beidio dweud wrth neb mai fe oedd y Meseia.Iesu'n dweud ei fod yn mynd i farw
(Marc 8:31—9:1; Luc 9:22-27) 21O hynny ymlaen dechreuodd Iesu esbonio i'w ddisgyblion fod rhaid iddo fynd i Jerwsalem. Byddai'r arweinwyr Iddewig, y prif offeiriaid a'r arbenigwyr yn y Gyfraith yn gwneud iddo ddiodde'n ofnadwy. Byddai'n cael ei ladd, ond yna'n dod yn ôl yn fyw ddeuddydd wedyn. 22Dyma Pedr yn mynd ag e i'r naill ochr, a dweud y drefn wrtho am ddweud y fath bethau. “Duw a'n gwaredo!” meddai, “Wnaiff y fath beth byth ddigwydd i ti, Arglwydd!” 23Ond trodd Iesu, a dweud wrth Pedr, “Dos o'm golwg i Satan! Rwyt ti'n rhwystr i mi; rwyt ti'n meddwl fel mae pobl yn meddwl yn lle gweld pethau fel mae Duw'n eu gweld nhw.” 24Yna dyma Iesu'n dweud wrth ei ddisgyblion, “Os ydy rhywun am fy nilyn i, rhaid iddyn nhw stopio rhoi nhw eu hunain gyntaf. Rhaid iddyn nhw aberthu eu hunain dros eraill a cherdded yr un llwybr â mi. 25Bydd y rhai sy'n ceisio achub eu hunain yn colli'r bywyd go iawn, ond bydd y rhai hynny sy'n barod i ollwng gafael yn eu bywydau er fy mwyn i, yn dod o hyd i fywyd go iawn. 26Beth ydy'r pwynt o gael popeth sydd gan y byd i'w gynnig, a cholli'r enaid? Oes unrhyw beth sy'n fwy gwerthfawr na'r enaid? 27Bydda i, Mab y Dyn, yn dod yn ôl yn holl ysblander y Tad, a'r angylion gyda mi. Bydda i'n rhoi gwobr i bawb ar sail beth maen nhw wedi ei wneud. 28Credwch chi fi, wnaiff rhai ohonoch chi sy'n sefyll yma ddim marw cyn cael gweld Mab y Dyn yn dod i deyrnasu.”
