Iesu o flaen Peilat
(Mathew 27:1-2,11-26; Luc 23:1-5,13-25; Ioan 18:28—19:16) 1Yn gynnar iawn yn y bore, dyma'r prif offeiriaid a'r arweinwyr eraill, gyda'r arbenigwyr yn y Gyfraith a'r Sanhedrin cyfan, yn penderfynu beth i'w wneud. Dyma nhw'n rhwymo Iesu a'i drosglwyddo i Peilat. 2Dyma Peilat yn dweud wrtho, “Felly, ti ydy Brenin yr Iddewon, ie?” “Ti sy'n dweud,” atebodd Iesu. 3Roedd y prif offeiriaid yn ei gyhuddo o bob math o bethau, 4felly gofynnodd Peilat iddo eto, “Oes gen ti ddim i'w ddweud? Edrych cymaint o bethau maen nhw'n dy gyhuddo di o'u gwneud.” 5Ond wnaeth Iesu ddim ateb o gwbl. Doedd y peth yn gwneud dim sens i Peilat. 6Adeg y Pasg roedd hi'n draddodiad i ryddhau un carcharor – un oedd y bobl yn ei ddewis. 7Roedd dyn o'r enw Barabbas yn y carchar – un o'r terfysgwyr oedd yn euog o lofruddiaeth adeg y gwrthryfel. 8Felly dyma'r dyrfa'n mynd at Peilat a gofyn iddo wneud yn ôl ei arfer. 9“Beth am i mi ryddhau hwn i chi, ‛Brenin yr Iddewon‛?” meddai Peilat. 10(Roedd yn gwybod fod y prif offeiriaid wedi arestio Iesu am eu bod yn genfigennus ohono.) 11Ond dyma'r prif offeiriaid yn cyffroi'r dyrfa a'u cael i ofyn i Peilat ryddhau Barabbas yn ei le. 12“Felly beth dw i i'w wneud gyda'r un dych chi'n ei alw'n ‛Frenin yr Iddewon‛?” gofynnodd Peilat. 13A dyma nhw'n dechrau gweiddi, “Croeshoelia fe!” 14“Pam?” meddai Peilat, “Beth mae wedi ei wneud o'i le?” Ond dyma nhw'n dechrau gweiddi'n uwch, “Croeshoelia fe!” 15Gan ei fod am blesio'r dyrfa dyma Peilat yn rhyddhau Barabbas iddyn nhw. Wedyn gorchmynnodd fod Iesu i gael ei chwipio, ac yna ei ddedfrydu i gael ei groeshoelio.Y milwyr yn gwatwar Iesu

Brenin yr Iddewon!” 19Roedden nhw'n ei daro ar ei ben gyda gwialen drosodd a throsodd, ac yn poeri arno. Wedyn roedden nhw'n mynd ar eu gliniau o'i flaen ac yn esgus talu teyrnged iddo. 20Pan oedden nhw wedi blino cael sbort, dyma nhw'n tynnu'r clogyn porffor oddi arno a'i wisgo yn ei ddillad ei hun unwaith eto. (Mathew 27:31-44; Luc 23:27-43; Ioan 19:17-27) 21Roedd dyn o Cyrene o'r enw Simon yn digwydd mynd heibio (tad Alecsander a Rwffus) – roedd ar ei ffordd i mewn i'r ddinas. A dyma'r milwyr yn ei orfodi i gario croes Iesu. 22Dyma nhw'n dod â Iesu i Golgotha (sy'n golygu ‛Lle y Benglog‛), 23a dyma nhw'n cynnig gwin wedi ei gymysgu â chyffur iddo, ond gwrthododd ei gymryd. 24Ar ôl ei hoelio ar y groes dyma nhw'n gamblo i weld pwy fyddai'n cael ei ddillad. 25Naw o'r gloch y bore oedd hi pan wnaethon nhw ei groeshoelio. 26Roedd arwydd ysgrifenedig yn dweud beth oedd y cyhuddiad yn ei erbyn. b 29Roedd y bobl oedd yn pasio heibio yn gwneud sbort am ei ben, ac yn hyrddio enllibion ato, “Felly! Ti sy'n mynd i ddinistrio'r deml a'i hadeiladu eto o fewn tri diwrnod!? 30Tyrd yn dy flaen! Achub dy hun oddi ar y groes yna!” 31Roedd y prif offeiriaid a'r arbenigwyr yn y Gyfraith yno hefyd yn cael sbort ymhlith ei gilydd. “Roedd e'n achub pobl eraill,” medden nhw, “ond dydy e ddim yn gallu achub ei hun! 32Beth am i ni gael gweld y Meseia yma, Brenin Israel, yn dod i lawr oddi ar y groes. Gwnawn ni gredu wedyn!” Roedd hyd yn oed y rhai oedd wedi eu croeshoelio gydag e yn ei sarhau. Iesu'n marw

Pan welodd sut buodd Iesu farw, ei eiriau oedd, “Mab Duw oedd y dyn yma, reit siŵr!” 40Roedd nifer o wragedd hefyd yn sefyll yn gwylio beth oedd yn digwydd o bell, gan gynnwys Mair Magdalen, Mair mam Iago bach a Joses, a hefyd Salome. 41Roedden nhw wedi bod yn dilyn Iesu o gwmpas Galilea gan wneud yn siŵr fod ganddo bopeth roedd ei angen. Wrth iddi ddechrau nosi 43aeth un o aelodau blaenllaw y Sanhedrin i weld Peilat – dyn o'r enw Joseff oedd yn dod o Arimathea. Roedd Joseff yn ddyn duwiol oedd yn disgwyl am deyrnasiad Duw, a gofynnodd i Peilat am ganiatâd i gymryd corff Iesu. 44Roedd Peilat yn methu credu bod Iesu eisoes wedi marw, a galwodd am y capten a gofyn iddo os oedd wedi marw ers peth amser. 45Pan ddwedodd hwnnw ei fod, rhoddodd Peilat ganiatâd i Joseff gymryd y corff. 46Ar ôl prynu lliain dyma Joseff yn tynnu'r corff i lawr a'i lapio yn y lliain. Yna fe'i rhoddodd i orwedd mewn bedd oedd wedi ei naddu yn y graig. Wedyn rholiodd garreg dros geg y bedd. 47Roedd Mair Magdalen a Mair mam Joses yno'n edrych lle cafodd ei osod.

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
