Iesu yn cael ei demtio
(Mathew 4:1-11; Marc 1:12,13) 1Roedd Iesu'n llawn o'r Ysbryd Glân pan aeth yn ôl o ardal yr Iorddonen. Gadawodd i'r Ysbryd ei arwain i'r anialwch, 2lle cafodd ei demtio gan y diafol am bedwar deg diwrnod. Wnaeth Iesu ddim bwyta o gwbl yn ystod y dyddiau yna, ac erbyn y diwedd roedd yn llwgu. 3Dyma'r diafol yn dweud wrtho, “Os mai Mab Duw wyt ti, gwna i'r garreg yma droi'n dorth o fara.” 4Atebodd Iesu, “Na! Mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud ‘Dim bwyd ydy'r unig beth mae pobl ei angen i fyw.’” a 5Dyma'r diafol yn ei arwain i le uchel ac yn dangos holl wledydd y byd iddo mewn eiliad. 6Ac meddai'r diafol wrtho, “Gwna i adael i ti reoli'r rhain i gyd, a chael eu cyfoeth nhw hefyd. Mae'r cwbl wedi eu rhoi i mi, ac mae gen i hawl i'w rhoi nhw i bwy bynnag dw i'n ei ddewis. 7Felly, os gwnei di fy addoli i, cei di'r cwbl.” 8Atebodd Iesu, “Mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud: ‘Addola'r Arglwydd dy Dduw, a'i wasanaethu e yn unig.’” b 9Dyma'r diafol yn mynd â Iesu i Jerwsalem a gwneud iddo sefyll ar y tŵr uchaf un yn y deml. “Os mai Mab Duw wyt ti,” meddai, “neidia i lawr o'r fan yma. 10Mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud: ‘Bydd Duw yn gorchymyn i'w angyliondy gadw'n saff;
11byddan nhw'n dy ddal yn eu breichiau,
fel na fyddi'n taro dy droed ar garreg.’” c
12Atebodd Iesu, “Mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud hefyd: ‘Paid rhoi'r Arglwydd dy Dduw ar brawf.’” d 13Pan oedd y diafol wedi ceisio temtio Iesu bob ffordd bosib, gadawodd iddo nes i gyfle arall godi.

Safodd ar ei draed i ddarllen o'r ysgrifau sanctaidd. 17Sgrôl proffwydoliaeth Eseia gafodd ei roi iddo, a dyma fe'n ei hagor, a dod o hyd i'r darn sy'n dweud: 18 “Mae Ysbryd yr Arglwydd arna i,oherwydd mae wedi fy eneinio i
i gyhoeddi newyddion da i bobl dlawd.
Mae wedi fy anfon i gyhoeddi fod y rhai sy'n gaeth i gael rhyddid,
a pobl sy'n ddall i gael eu golwg yn ôl,
a'r rhai sy'n cael eu cam-drin i ddianc o afael y gormeswr,
19a dweud hefyd fod y flwyddyn i'r Arglwydd ddangos ei ffafr wedi dod.” e
20Caeodd y sgrôl a'i rhoi yn ôl i'r dyn oedd yn arwain yr oedfa yn y synagog, ac yna eisteddodd. Roedd pawb yn y synagog yn syllu arno. 21Yna dwedodd, “Mae'r geiriau yma o'r ysgrifau sanctaidd wedi dod yn wir heddiw.” 22Roedd pawb yn dweud pethau da amdano, ac yn rhyfeddu at y pethau gwych roedd yn eu dweud. “Onid mab Joseff ydy hwn?” medden nhw. 23Yna dwedodd Iesu wrthyn nhw, “Mae'n siŵr y byddwch chi'n cyfeirio at yr hen ddywediad: ‘Iachâ dy hun, feddyg!’ hynny ydy, ‘y math o beth dŷn ni wedi ei glywed i ti eu gwneud yn Capernaum, gwna yma yn dy dref dy hun.’” 24“Ond y gwir plaen ydy, does dim parch at broffwyd yn y dre lle cafodd ei fagu! 25Gallwch fod yn reit siŵr fod llawer iawn o wragedd gweddwon yn Israel yn amser y proffwyd Elias. Wnaeth hi ddim glawio am dair blynedd a hanner ac roedd newyn trwm drwy'r wlad i gyd. f 26Ond chafodd Elias mo'i anfon at yr un ohonyn nhw. Cafodd ei anfon at wraig o wlad arall – gwraig weddw yn Sareffat yn ardal Sidon! g 27Ac roedd llawer o bobl yn Israel yn dioddef o'r gwahanglwyf pan oedd y proffwyd Eliseus yn fyw. Ond Naaman o wlad Syria oedd yr unig un gafodd ei iacháu!” h 28Roedd pawb yn y synagog wedi gwylltio wrth ei glywed yn dweud hyn. 29Dyma nhw'n codi ar eu traed a gyrru Iesu allan o'r dref i ben y bryn roedd y dre wedi ei hadeiladu arno. Roedden nhw'n bwriadu ei daflu dros y clogwyn, 30ond llwyddodd i fynd drwy ganol y dyrfa ac aeth ymlaen ar ei daith.
Iesu'n bwrw allan ysbryd drwg
(Marc 1:21-28) 31Aeth i Capernaum, un o drefi Galilea, a dechrau dysgu'r bobl yno ar y Saboth. 32Roedd pawb yn rhyfeddu at beth roedd yn ei ddysgu, am fod ei neges yn gwneud i bobl wrando arno. 33Un tro dyma rhyw ddyn oedd yn y synagog yn rhoi sgrech uchel. (Roedd y dyn wedi ei feddiannu gan gythraul, hynny ydy ysbryd drwg). 34“Aaaaar! Gad di lonydd i ni, Iesu o Nasareth. Rwyt ti yma i'n dinistrio ni. Dw i'n gwybod pwy wyt ti – Un Sanctaidd Duw!” 35“Bydd ddistaw!” meddai Iesu'n ddig. “Tyrd allan ohono!” A dyma'r cythraul yn taflu'r dyn ar lawr o flaen pawb, yna daeth allan ohono heb wneud dim mwy o niwed iddo. 36Roedd pawb wedi cael sioc, ac yn gofyn, “Beth sy'n mynd ymlaen? Mae ganddo'r fath awdurdod! Mae hyd yn oed yn gallu gorfodi ysbrydion drwg i ufuddhau iddo a dod allan o bobl!” 37Aeth y newyddion amdano ar led fel tân gwyllt drwy'r ardal i gyd.Iesu'n iacháu llawer o bobl
(Mathew 8:14-17; Marc 1:29-34) 38Dyma Iesu'n gadael y synagog ac yn mynd i gartref Simon. Yno roedd mam-yng-nghyfraith Simon yn sâl iawn gyda gwres uchel. Dyma nhw'n gofyn i Iesu ei helpu hi. 39Plygodd Iesu drosti a gorchymyn i'r gwres i fynd, a diflannodd y tymheredd oedd ganddi yn y fan a'r lle! Yna dyma hi'n codi o'i gwely a gwneud pryd o fwyd iddyn nhw. 40Ar ôl i'r haul fachlud roedd y Saboth drosodd, a daeth pobl at Iesu gyda'u perthnasau oedd yn dioddef o bob math o salwch. Roedd yn eu hiacháu drwy roi ei ddwylo ar bob un ohonyn nhw. 41A daeth cythreuliaid allan o lawer o bobl hefyd. Roedden nhw'n gweiddi, “Mab Duw wyt ti!” am eu bod yn gwybod yn iawn mai Iesu oedd y Meseia, ond roedd yn gwrthod gadael iddyn nhw ddweud dim byd mwy.Pregethu yn y synagogau
(Marc 1:35-39) 42Wrth iddi wawrio y bore wedyn aeth Iesu i ffwrdd i le unig. Roedd tyrfaoedd o bobl yn edrych amdano, ac ar ôl ei gael dyma nhw'n ceisio ei stopio rhag mynd. 43Ond meddai Iesu, “Rhaid i mi gyhoeddi'r newyddion da am Dduw yn teyrnasu yn y trefi eraill hefyd. How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
