Y proffwyd: 1O! Mae'r Meistr wedi digio'n lân,ac wedi rhoi Jerwsalem dan gwmwl tywyll!
Mae'r ddinas oedd yn ysblander Israel
wedi ei bwrw i lawr i'r llwch o'r nefoedd.
Yn ei lid ffyrnig, mae Duw wedi gwrthod ei deml,
sef ei stôl droed sydd ar y ddaear.
2Mae wedi dinistrio cartrefi pobl Jacob
heb ddangos trugaredd o gwbl.
Yn ei ddig mae wedi dinistrio'r trefi caerog
oedd yn amddiffyn Jwda. ▼

Mae wedi bwrw i lawr y wlad a'i harweinwyr
ac achosi cywilydd mawr.
3Yn ei lid ffyrnig mae wedi dinistrio
grym byddin Israel yn llwyr.
Stopiodd eu hamddiffyn nhw
pan oedd y gelyn yn ymosod.
Roedd fel tân yn llosgi drwy'r wlad
ac yn difa popeth ar dir Jacob.
4Roedd fel gelyn yn anelu ei fwa saeth,
a'i law dde yn barod i saethu.
Lladdodd bawb oedd yn annwyl
yn ei olwg.
Do, tywalltodd ei lid fel tân
ar gartrefi Jerwsalem.
5Roedd yr Arglwydd fel gelyn
yn dinistrio Israel.
Mae wedi dinistrio'r plastai i gyd,
a dymchwel ei chaerau amddiffynnol.
Bellach, dim ond griddfan a galar
sydd i'w glywed drwy wlad Jwda.
6Mae wedi chwalu ei deml fel caban mewn gwinllan.
Mae wedi dinistrio canolfan y gwyliau sanctaidd.
Daeth pob Gŵyl grefyddol
a Saboth i ben yn Seion.
Yn ei lid ffyrnig trodd ei gefn
ar y brenin a'r offeiriaid.
7Mae'r Meistr wedi gwrthod ei allor.
Mae wedi troi cefn ar ei deml.
Mae wedi gadael i'r gelyn
rwygo ei waliau i lawr.
Roedd sŵn y gelyn yn gweiddi yn nheml yr Arglwydd
fel sŵn pobl yn dathlu yno ar ddydd Gŵyl.
8Roedd yr Arglwydd yn benderfynol
o droi waliau dinas Jerwsalem yn adfeilion.
Roedd wedi cynllunio'n ofalus beth i'w wneud,
ac aeth ati i'w dinistrio nhw'n llwyr.
Bellach mae'r waliau oedd yn amddiffyn y ddinas
yn gorwedd yn llesg fel pobl yn galaru.
9Mae giatiau'r ddinas yn gorwedd ar lawr,
a'r barrau oedd yn eu cloi wedi malu.
Mae'r brenin a'r arweinwyr wedi eu cymryd yn gaeth. b
Does neb i roi arweiniad o'r Gyfraith,
a does gan y proffwydi ddim gweledigaeth
gan yr Arglwydd.
10Mae'r henoed sydd ar ôl yn Jerwsalem
yn eistedd ar lawr yn hollol dawel.
Maen nhw wedi taflu pridd ar eu pennau
ac yn gwisgo sachliain yn eu tristwch.
Mae merched ifanc Jerwsalem
yn syllu ar lawr yn ddigalon.
11Mae fy llygaid innau'n llawn dagrau.
Mae fy stumog yn corddi y tu mewn i mi.
Mae'r hyn sydd wedi digwydd i'm pobl
yn fy ngwneud i'n sâl.
Mae plant a babis bach yn llwgu a llewygu
ar strydoedd y ddinas!
12Mae plant yn galw ar eu mamau.
“Dw i eisiau bwyd. Dw i eisiau diod.”
Maen nhw'n llewygu ar y strydoedd
fel milwyr wedi eu hanafu.
Maen nhw'n marw yn araf
ym mreichiau eu mamau.
13Dw i ddim yn gwybod beth i'w ddweud.
Dw i wedi gweld dim byd tebyg.
Jerwsalem annwyl,
beth alla i ei wneud i dy helpu di?
Mae dy anaf mor ddwfn â'r môr mawr;
does neb yn gallu dy iacháu.
14Roedd gweledigaethau dy broffwydi
yn gelwydd ac yn dwyll!
Yn lle gwneud pethau'n iawn eto
drwy ddangos dy bechod i ti,
roedden nhw'n cyhoeddi pethau ffals
ac yn dy gamarwain di.
15Mae pawb sy'n pasio heibio
yn curo dwylo'n wawdlyd.
Maen nhw'n chwibanu'n ddirmygus
ac yn ysgwyd eu pennau ar Jerwsalem druan.
“Ha! Felly dyma'r un oedd yn cael ei disgrifio fel
‘y ddinas harddaf un sy'n gwneud yr holl fyd yn hapus’?” c
16Mae dy elynion i gyd
yn gwneud hwyl am dy ben;
yn gwawdio ac yn gwneud ystumiau arnat.
“Dŷn ni wedi ei dinistrio hi!” medden nhw.
“Roedden ni wedi edrych ymlaen at y diwrnod yma,
ac o'r diwedd mae wedi dod!”
17Mae'r Arglwydd wedi gwneud beth oedd yn ei fwriadu.
Mae wedi gwneud beth oedd yn ei ddweud.
Roedd wedi bygwth hyn ers talwm. d
Mae wedi dinistrio heb ddangos trugaredd.
Mae wedi gadael i'r gelyn ddathlu dy orchfygu,
ac ymffrostio fod ei fyddin mor bwerus.
18Gwaeddwch yn daer ar yr Arglwydd!
O waliau Jerwsalem, gadewch i'r dagrau
lifo fel afon ddydd a nos!
Peidiwch gorffwyso;
peidiwch gadael i'r dagrau stopio!
19Cod! Gwaedda am help yn y nos!
Gwna hynny drosodd a throsodd.
Tywallt beth sydd ar dy galon
o flaen yr Arglwydd!
Estyn dy ddwylo ato mewn gweddi,
i bledio dros y plant
sy'n marw o newyn
ar gornel pob stryd.
20Edrych! Arglwydd, meddylia am y peth!
I bwy arall wyt ti wedi gwneud hyn?
Ydy'n iawn fod gwragedd yn bwyta'r plant
maen nhw wedi gofalu amdanyn nhw?
Ddylai offeiriaid a phroffwydi
gael eu lladd yn nheml yr Arglwydd?
21Mae hen ac ifanc yn gorwedd yn farw
ar lwch y strydoedd.
Bechgyn a merched ifanc
wedi eu taro gan gleddyf y gelyn.
Ti wnaeth hyn pan ddangosaist dy lid ffyrnig.
Lleddaist nhw yn ddidrugaredd.
22Cafodd y gelyn, oedd yn creu dychryn ym mhobman,
wahoddiad gen ti, fel petai'n ddydd Gŵyl.
Ond diwrnod i ti ddangos dy lid ffyrnig oedd e,
a doedd neb i ddianc na chael byw.
Do, lladdodd y gelyn
y plant wnes i eu mwytho a'u magu.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
