Y proffwyd: 1O! Mae'r ddinas oedd yn fwrlwm o boblyn eistedd mor unig!
Mae'r ddinas oedd yn enwog drwy'r byd
bellach yn wraig weddw.
Roedd hi fel tywysoges y taleithiau,
ond bellach mae'n gaethferch.
2Mae hi'n beichio crïo drwy'r nos,
a'r dagrau'n llifo i lawr ei hwyneb.
Does dim un o'i chariadon
yno i'w chysuro.
Mae ei ffrindiau i gyd wedi ei bradychu
ac wedi troi'n elynion iddi.
3Mae pobl Jwda wedi eu cymryd i ffwrdd yn gaethion;
ar ôl diodde'n hir maen nhw'n gaethweision.
Mae'n nhw'n byw mewn gwledydd eraill
ac yn methu'n lân a setlo yno.
Mae'r gelynion oedd yn eu herlid wedi eu dal;
doedd ganddyn nhw ddim gobaith dianc.
4Mae'r ffyrdd gwag i Jerwsalem yn galaru;
Does neb yn teithio i'r gwyliau i ddathlu.
Does dim pobl yn mynd trwy giatiau'r ddinas.
Dydy'r offeiriaid yn gwneud dim ond griddfan,
ac mae'r merched ifanc, oedd yno'n canu a dawnsio, yn drist.
Mae Jerwsalem mewn cyflwr truenus!
5Ei gelynion sy'n ei rheoli,
ac mae bywyd mor braf iddyn nhw
am fod yr Arglwydd wedi ei chosbi hi
am wrthryfela yn ei erbyn mor aml.
Mae ei phlant wedi eu cymryd i ffwrdd
yn gaethion gan y gelyn. a
6Mae popeth oedd hi'n ymfalchïo ynddo
wedi ei gymryd oddi ar Jerwsalem ▼

.Roedd ei harweinwyr fel ceirw
yn methu dod o hyd i borfa,
ac yn rhy wan i ddianc
oddi wrth yr heliwr.
7Mae Jerwsalem, sy'n dlawd a digartre,
yn cofio ei holl drysorau –
sef y pethau gwerthfawr oedd piau hi o'r blaen.
Pan gafodd ei choncro gan ei gelynion
doedd neb yn barod i'w helpu.
Roedd ei gelynion wrth eu boddau,
ac yn chwerthin yn ddirmygus wrth iddi gael ei dinistrio.
8Roedd Jerwsalem wedi pechu'n ofnadwy,
felly cafodd ei thaflu i ffwrdd fel peth aflan.
Mae pawb oedd yn ei hedmygu bellach yn gwneud sbort
wrth ei gweld hi'n noeth.
A dyna lle mae hithau'n griddfan ar lawr
ac yn cuddio ei hwyneb mewn cywilydd.
9Wnaeth hi ddim meddwl beth fyddai'n digwydd yn y diwedd. c
Mae gwaed ei misglwyf wedi difetha ei dillad.
Roedd ei chwymp yn rhyfeddol!
Doedd neb yno i'w chysuro.
“O Arglwydd, edrych arna i'n diodde!” meddai,
“Mae'r gelyn wedi fy nghuro.”
10Mae'r gelyn wedi cymryd
ei thrysorau hi i gyd. d
Ydy, mae hi wedi gorfod gwylio milwyr paganaidd
yn mynd i mewn i'r deml sanctaidd.
Ie, y bobl wnest ti wrthod gadael iddyn nhw
fod yn rhan o'r gynulleidfa o addolwyr! e
11Mae pobl Jerwsalem yn griddfan
wrth chwilio am rywbeth i'w fwyta.
Maen nhw'n gorfod gwerthu popeth gwerthfawr
i gael bwyd i gadw'n fyw.
Jerwsalem: “Edrych, Arglwydd,
dw i'n dda i ddim bellach!”
12Ydy e ddim bwys i chi sy'n pasio heibio?
Edrychwch arna i'n iawn.
Oes rhywun wedi diodde fel dw i wedi diodde?
Yr Arglwydd wnaeth hyn i mi
pan oedd wedi digio'n lân.
13Anfonodd dân i lawr o'r nefoedd,
oedd yn llosgi yn fy esgyrn.
Gosododd rwyd i'm dal i,
rhag i mi fynd ddim pellach.
Mae wedi fy ngadael ar fy mhen fy hun;
dw i'n teimlo'n sâl drwy'r amser.
14Mae ngwrthryfel wedi ei rwymo fel iau ar fy ngwddf.
Duw ei hun sydd wedi ei rwymo.
Mae e wedi gosod ei iau ar fy ngwar,
a'm gwneud i yn hollol wan.
Mae'r Meistr wedi fy rhoi yn nwylo'r gelyn,
ac alla i wneud dim yn eu herbyn.
15Mae'r Meistr wedi taflu allan y milwyr dewr
oedd yn fy amddiffyn.
Mae wedi galw byddin i ymladd yn fy erbyn
ac i sathru fy milwyr ifanc dan draed.
Ydy, mae'r Meistr wedi sathru pobl Jwda annwyl
fel sathru grawnwin mewn gwinwasg.
16Dyna pam dw i'n crïo.
Dyna pam mae'r dagrau'n llifo.
Does gen i neb wrth law i'm cysuro;
neb i godi fy nghalon.
Does gan fy mhlant ddim dyfodol.
Mae'r gelyn wedi eu gorchfygu.
Y proffwyd: 17Mae Seion yn begian am help,
ond does neb yno i'w chysuro hi.
Mae'r Arglwydd wedi gorchymyn
i'r gwledydd o'u cwmpas ymosod ar bobl Jacob.
Mae Jerwsalem yn eu canol nhw
fel peth aflan y dylid ei daflu i ffwrdd.

dw i wedi tynnu'n groes i beth ddwedodd e.

19Roeddwn i'n galw ar fy ffrindiau am help
ond dyma nhw i gyd yn troi cefn arna i.
Bu farw'r offeiriaid a'r arweinwyr yn y ddinas
wrth edrych am fwyd i gadw eu hunain yn fyw.
20Arglwydd, edrych mor ddrwg mae hi arna i!
Dw i'n corddi tu mewn.
Dw i'n torri fy nghalon,
achos dw i'n gwybod mod i wedi gwrthryfela'n llwyr.
Allan ar y stryd mae'r gelyn yn lladd;
yn y tai mae pobl yn marw o newyn.
21Maen nhw wedi fy nghlywed i'n griddfan,
a does yna neb i'm cysuro.
Mae fy ngelynion wedi clywed am fy helyntion,
ac maen nhw'n falch dy fod wedi gwneud hyn i mi.
Brysied y diwrnod rwyt wedi sôn amdano,
pan gân nhw eu cosbi run fath â fi!
22Edrych ar yr holl bethau drwg maen nhw'n eu gwneud!
Delia hefo nhw fel rwyt wedi delio gyda mi
am wrthryfela yn dy erbyn o hyd ac o hyd.
Dw i'n methu stopio griddfan
ac wedi digalonni'n llwyr!

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
