Llwythau'r dwyrain yn mynd yn ôl adre.
1Dyma Josua yn galw llwythau Reuben, Gad a hanner llwyth Manasse at ei gilydd, 2a dweud wrthyn nhw: “Dych chi wedi gwneud popeth wnaeth Moses, gwas yr Arglwydd, ei ddweud wrthoch chi, ac wedi gwrando arna i hefyd. 3Wnaethoch chi ddim troi cefn ar eich pobl, llwythau Israel, o gwbl. Dych chi wedi gwneud beth wnaeth yr Arglwydd eich Duw ei ofyn gynnoch chi. 4Bellach mae'r Arglwydd eich Duw wedi rhoi heddwch i weddill llwythau Israel, fel gwnaeth e addo. Felly gallwch fynd yn ôl adre i'r tir wnaeth Moses, gwas yr Arglwydd, ei roi i chi yr ochr arall i'r Afon Iorddonen. 5“Ond cofiwch gadw'r rheolau a'r deddfau wnaeth Moses eu rhoi i chi. Caru yr Arglwydd eich Duw, byw fel mae e'n dweud, cadw ei reolau, bod yn ffyddlon iddo, a rhoi eich hunain yn llwyr i'w addoli â'ch holl galon!” 6Dyma Josua yn eu bendithio nhw, a'u hanfon nhw i ffwrdd, a dyma nhw'n mynd am adre. 7(Roedd Moses wedi rhoi tir yn Bashan i hanner llwyth Manasse, a tir i'r gorllewin o Afon Iorddonen i'r hanner arall, gyda gweddill pobl Israel.) Pan anfonodd Josua nhw adre, dyma fe'n eu bendithio nhw: 8“Ewch adre, a rhannu gyda'ch pobl yr holl gyfoeth dych chi wedi ei gymryd gan eich gelynion! – lot fawr o anifeiliaid, arian, aur, pres, haearn, a lot fawr o ddillad hefyd.”Yr Allor wrth ymyl yr Afon Iorddonen
9Felly dyma lwythau Reuben, Gad, a hanner llwyth Manasse yn gadael gweddill pobl Israel yn Seilo yn Canaan, a troi am adre i'w tir eu hunain yn Gilead – sef y tir wnaeth yr Arglwydd ei roi iddyn nhw trwy Moses. 10Ond pan oedden nhw'n dal ar ochr Canaan i'r Iorddonen dyma nhw'n adeiladu allor fawr drawiadol yn Geliloth, wrth ymyl yr afon. 11Pan glywodd gweddill pobl Israel am y peth, 12dyma nhw'n dod at ei gilydd yn Seilo i baratoi i fynd ar eu holau, ac ymosod ar y ddau lwyth a hanner. 13Ond cyn gwneud hynny dyma bobl Israel yn anfon Phineas mab Eleasar, yr offeiriad, i siarad â nhw yn Gilead. 14Aeth deg o arweinwyr eraill gydag e, un o bob llwyth – dynion oedd yn arweinwyr teuluoedd estynedig o fewn eu llwythau. 15Dyma'r rhain yn mynd i Gilead at lwythau Reuben, Gad a hanner llwyth Manasse, a dweud wrthyn nhw: 16“Mae pobl Israel i gyd eisiau gwybod pam ydych chi wedi bradychu Duw Israel fel yma. Beth wnaeth i chi droi cefn ar yr Arglwydd ac adeiladu eich allor eich hunain? Sut allwch chi wrthryfela yn erbyn yr Arglwydd fel yma? 17Oedd beth wnaethon ni yn Peor ▼▼22:17 beth wnaethon ni yn Peor gw. Numeri 25:1-9
ddim digon drwg? Dŷn ni'n dal ddim wedi dod dros hynny'n iawn. Mae canlyniadau'r pla wnaeth daro pobl yr Arglwydd bryd hynny yn dal gyda ni! 18A dyma chi eto heddiw, yn troi cefn ar yr Arglwydd! Os gwnewch chi droi yn ei erbyn e heddiw, mae perygl y bydd yr Arglwydd yn cosbi pobl Israel i gyd yfory! 19Os ydych chi'n teimlo fod eich tir chi yr ochr yma i'r Iorddonen yn aflan, dewch drosodd i fyw gyda ni ar dir yr Arglwydd ei hun, lle mae Pabell Presenoldeb Duw. Ond peidiwch troi yn erbyn yr Arglwydd, a'n tynnu ni i mewn i'r peth, drwy godi allor arall i chi'ch hunain. Pan fuodd e'n anufudd i'r gorchymyn am y cyfoeth oedd i fod i gael ei gadw i'r Arglwydd, roedd Duw yn ddig gyda phobl Israel i gyd. Dim fe oedd yr unig un wnaeth farw o ganlyniad i'w bechod!” 21Dyma bobl Reuben, Gad a hanner llwyth Manasse yn ateb arweinwyr Israel, a dweud, 22“Yr Arglwydd ydy Duw y duwiau! Yr Arglwydd ydy Duw y duwiau! Mae e'n gwybod beth ydy'r gwir, a rhaid i bobl Israel wybod hefyd! Os ydyn ni wedi troi yn ei erbyn a bod yn anufudd, lladdwch ni heddiw! 23“Wnaethon ni ddim codi'r allor i ni'n hunain gyda'r bwriad o droi cefn ar yr Arglwydd, nac i gyflwyno offrymau i'w llosgi, offrymau o rawn neu offrymau i ofyn am ei fendith arni. Bydd yr Arglwydd ei hun yn ein cosbi ni os ydyn ni'n dweud celwydd! 24Na! Poeni oedden ni y byddai eich disgynyddion chi ryw ddydd yn dweud wrth ein disgynyddion ni, ‘Pa gysylltiad sydd gynnoch chi â'r Arglwydd, Duw Israel? 25Mae'r Arglwydd wedi gosod yr Afon Iorddonen yn ffin glir rhyngon ni â chi. Does gynnoch chi, bobl Reuben a Gad, ddim hawl i addoli'r Arglwydd.’ Roedd gynnon ni ofn y byddai eich disgynyddion chi yn rhwystro ein disgynyddion ni addoli'r Arglwydd. 26Felly dyma ni'n penderfynu codi'r allor yma. Nid er mwyn offrymu ac aberthu arni, 27ond i'n hatgoffa ni a chi, a'n disgynyddion ni hefyd, mai ei gysegr ydy'r lle i ni fynd i addoli'r Arglwydd, a chyflwyno aberthau ac offrymau iddo. Wedyn, yn y dyfodol, fydd eich disgynyddion chi ddim yn gallu dweud wrth ein disgynyddion ni, ‘Does gynnoch chi ddim perthynas â'r Arglwydd.’ 28Roedden ni'n tybio, os byddai pethau felly'n cael eu dweud wrthon ni a'n disgynyddion, gallen ni ateb, ‘Edrychwch ar y copi yma o allor yr Arglwydd gafodd ei chodi gan ein hynafiaid. Dim allor i gyflwyno offrymau i'w llosgi nac aberthu arni ydy hi, ond un i'n hatgoffa o'r berthynas sydd rhyngon ni.’ 29“Fydden ni ddim yn meiddio troi yn erbyn yr Arglwydd a gwrthod ei ddilyn drwy godi allor arall i gyflwyno arni offrymau i'w llosgi, aberthau ac offrymau i ofyn am ei fendith. Allor yr Arglwydd ein Duw o flaen ei Dabernacl ydy'r unig un i wneud hynny arni.” 30Pan glywodd Phineas yr offeiriad, ac arweinwyr llwythau Israel, beth oedd amddiffyniad pobl Reuben, Gad a hanner llwyth Manasse, roedden nhw'n fodlon. 31A dyma Phineas fab Eleasar, yr offeiriad, yn dweud wrthyn nhw: “Nawr, dŷn ni'n gwybod fod yr Arglwydd gyda ni. Dych chi ddim wedi bod yn anufudd iddo. Dych chi wedi achub pobl Israel rhag cael eu cosbi gan yr Arglwydd.” 32Felly dyma Phineas fab Eleasar, yr offeiriad, a'r arweinwyr oedd gydag e, yn gadael pobl Reuben a Gad yn Gilead, a mynd yn ôl i Canaan i adrodd i weddill pobl Israel beth oedd wedi cael ei ddweud. 33Roedd pobl Israel yn hapus gyda'r hyn gafodd ei ddweud, a dyma nhw'n addoli Duw. Doedd dim sôn ar ôl hynny am ymosod ar y wlad lle roedd pobl llwythau Reuben a Gad yn byw. 34A dyma llwythau Reuben a Gad yn rhoi enw i'r allor – “Arwydd i'n hatgoffa ni i gyd mai dim ond yr Arglwydd sydd Dduw.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
