2Dyma'r neges am yr Aifft, ac am fyddin Pharo Necho, brenin yr Aifft, oedd yn gwersylla yn Carcemish ar lan afon Ewffrates. 4Harneisiwch y ceffylau i'r cerbydau!
Ar gefnau eich stalwyni!
Helmedau ymlaen! Pawb i'w le!
Rhowch fin ar eich picellau!
Arfwisg ymlaen!”
5“Ond beth dw i'n weld?” meddai'r Arglwydd.
“Maen nhw wedi dychryn.
Maen nhw'n ffoi
Mae'r milwyr dewr yn syrthio.
Maen nhw'n dianc am eu bywydau,
heb edrych yn ôl.”
Does ond dychryn ym mhobman!
6Dydy'r cyflymaf ddim yn gallu dianc;
dydy'r cryfaf ddim yn llwyddo i ffoi.
Maen nhw'n baglu ac yn syrthio
ar lan Afon Ewffrates yn y gogledd.
7Pwy ydy'r wlad sy'n codi fel yr Afon Nil,
a'r afonydd sy'n llifo iddi ac yn gorlifo?
8Yr Aifft sy'n codi ac yn brolio
ei bod yn mynd i orchuddio'r ddaear fel llifogydd,
a dinistrio dinasoedd a'u pobl.
9“Ymlaen! Rhuthrwch i'r frwydr farchogion!
Gyrrwch yn wyllt yn eich cerbydau!
Martsiwch yn eich blaenau, filwyr traed –
y cynghreiriaid o Affrica ▼

10Ond mae beth fydd yn digwydd y diwrnod hwnnw
yn llaw'r Meistr, yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus.
Diwrnod o dalu'n ôl i'w elynion.
Bydd y cleddyf yn difa nes cael digon;
bydd wedi meddwi ar eu gwaed!
Mae'r Meistr, yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus,
yn eu cyflwyno nhw'n aberth
ar lan Afon Ewffrates yn y gogledd.
11Dos i fyny i Gilead i chwilio am eli,
o wyryf annwyl yr Aifft!
Gelli drïo pob moddion dan haul,
ond i ddim pwrpas –
does dim gwella i fod i ti!
12Bydd y gwledydd yn clywed am dy gywilydd.
Bydd sŵn dy gri am help yn mynd drwy'r byd i gyd.
Bydd dy filwyr cryfaf yn baglu dros ei gilydd,
ac yn syrthio gyda'i gilydd!

13Y neges roddodd yr Arglwydd i Jeremeia am Nebwchadnesar, brenin Babilon, yn dod i ymosod ar wlad yr Aifft: 14“Cyhoeddwch hyn drwy wlad yr Aifft,yn Migdol, Memffis a Tachpanches d:
‘Pawb i'w le! Byddwch barod i amddiffyn!
Mae pobman o'ch cwmpas
yn cael ei ddinistrio gan y gelyn.’
15Pam mae dy dduw Apis ▼
▼46:15 Apis Tarw sanctaidd, oedd yn cael ei gadw mewn teml yn Memphis, yr Aifft, ac yn cael ei addoli fel duw.
wedi ffoi?Pam wnaeth dy darw ddim dal ei dir?
Am bod yr Arglwydd wedi ei fwrw i lawr!
16Gwnaeth i lu o filwyr syrthio
a baglu dros ei gilydd wrth geisio dianc.
‘Gadewch i ni fynd yn ôl at ein pobl,’ medden nhw.
‘Mynd yn ôl i'n gwledydd ein hunain,
a dianc rhag i'r gelyn ein lladd!’
17Bydd y Pharo, brenin yr Aifft, yn cael y llysenw
‘Ceg fawr wedi colli ei gyfle!’”
18“Mor sicr a'm bod i fy hun yn fyw,” meddai'r Brenin
(yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus ydy ei enw e),
“mae'r gelyn yn dod i ymosod ar yr Aifft.
Bydd yn sefyll fel Mynydd Tabor yng nghanol y bryniau,
neu Fynydd Carmel ar lan y môr.
19‘Paciwch eich bagiau bobl yr Aifft,
yn barod i'ch cymryd yn gaethion!’
Mae Memffis yn mynd i gael ei difetha;
bydd yn adfeilion gyda neb yn byw yno.
20Mae'r Aifft fel heffer a golwg da arni,
ond bydd haid o bryfed o'r gogledd yn dod a'i phigo.
21Mae'r milwyr tâl sydd yn ei chanol
fel lloi wedi eu pesgi.
Ond byddan nhw hefyd yn troi a dianc gyda'i gilydd;
wnân nhw ddim sefyll eu tir.
Mae'r dydd y cân nhw eu dinistrio wedi dod;
mae'n bryd iddyn nhw gael eu cosbi.
22Mae'r Aifft fel neidr yn llithro i ffwrdd yn dawel, tra mae byddin y gelyn yn martsio'n hyderus.
Maen nhw'n dod yn ei herbyn gyda bwyeill,
fel dynion yn mynd i dorri coed.
23Bydd yr Aifft fel coedwig drwchus yn cael ei thorri i lawr,
—yr Arglwydd sy'n dweud hyn.
Mae'r dyrfa sy'n dod yn ei herbyn fel haid o locustiaid!
Mae'n amhosib eu cyfri nhw!
24Bydd pobl yr Aifft yn cael eu cywilyddio.
Byddan nhw'n cael eu concro gan fyddin o'r gogledd.” f
25Mae'r Arglwydd holl-bwerus, Duw Israel, yn dweud: “Dw i'n mynd i gosbi Amon, sef duw Thebes ▼
▼46:25 Amon, duw Thebes Amon oedd brenin duwiau'r Aifft a duw sbesial y Pharo. Thebes (tua 400 milltir i'r de o Cairo) oedd prifddinas de'r Aifft, a chanolfan addoliad Amon

“Peidiwch anobeithio bobl Israel.
Dw i'n mynd i'ch achub chi a'ch plant
o'r wlad bell lle buoch yn gaeth.
Bydd pobl Jacob yn dod yn ôl adre ac yn mwynhau heddwch.
Byddan nhw'n teimlo'n saff a fydd neb yn eu dychryn nhw.
28Peidiwch bod ag ofn, bobl Jacob, fy ngweision,”

“dw i gyda chi.
Dw i'n mynd i ddinistrio'r gwledydd hynny
lle gwnes i eich gyrru chi ar chwâl,
ond wna i ddim eich dinistrio chi.

ond dim ond faint dych chi'n ei haeddu;
alla i ddim peidio'ch cosbi chi o gwbl.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
