1Os ydy dyn yn ysgaru ei wraig,a hithau wedyn yn ei adael ac yn priodi rhywun arall,
dydy'r dyn cyntaf ddim yn gallu ei chymryd hi yn ôl. a
Byddai gwneud hynny'n llygru'r tir!
Ti wedi actio fel putain gyda dy holl gariadon;
felly wyt ti'n meddwl y cei di ddod yn ôl ata i?”
—yr Arglwydd sy'n dweud hyn.
2“Edrych ar y bryniau o dy gwmpas!
Oes rhywle rwyt heb orwedd i gael rhyw?
Roeddet ti'n eistedd ar ochr y ffordd,
fel bedowin yn yr anialwch,
yn disgwyl amdanyn nhw!
Ti wedi llygru'r tir
gyda dy holl buteinio a'th ddrygioni.
3Dyna pam does dim glaw wedi bod,
a dim sôn am gawodydd y gwanwyn.
Ond roeddet ti mor benstiff â phutain
ac yn teimlo dim cywilydd o gwbl.
4Ac eto dyma ti'n galw arna i, ‘Fy nhad!
Ti wedi bod yn ffrind agos ers pan o'n i'n ifanc –
5Wyt ti'n mynd i ddal dig am byth?
Wyt ti ddim yn mynd i aros felly, nac wyt?’
Ie, dyna beth ti'n ddweud,
ond yna'n dal i wneud
cymaint o ddrwg ag y medri di!”

dwedodd yr Arglwydd wrtho i, “Ti wedi gweld beth wnaeth Israel chwit-chwat – mynd i ben pob bryn uchel a gorwedd dan bob coeden ddeiliog a chwarae'r butain drwy addoli duwiau eraill. 7Hyd yn oed wedyn roeddwn i yn gobeithio y byddai hi'n troi'n ôl ata i. Ond wnaeth hi ddim. Ac roedd Jwda, ei chwaer anffyddlon, wedi gweld y cwbl. 8Gwelodd fi'n rhoi papurau ysgariad i Israel ac yn ei hanfon hi i ffwrdd am fod yn anffyddlon i mi mor aml, drwy addoli duwiau eraill. Ond wnaeth hynny ddim gwahaniaeth i Jwda. Dyma hithau'n mynd ac yn puteinio yn union yr un fath! 9Roedd Israel yn cymryd y cwbl mor ysgafn, ac roedd hi wedi llygru'r tir drwy addoli duwiau o bren a charreg. 10Ond er gwaetha hyn i gyd, dydy Jwda, ei chwaer anffyddlon, ddim wedi troi'n ôl ata i go iawn. Dydy hi ddim ond yn esgus bod yn sori,” meddai'r Arglwydd. 11A dyma'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrtho i, “Roedd Israel chwit-chwat yn well na Jwda anffyddlon! 12Felly, dos i wledydd y gogledd i ddweud wrth bobl Israel, ‘Tro yn ôl ata i, Israel anffyddlon!’ meddai'r Arglwydd.‘Dw i ddim yn mynd i edrych yn flin arnat ti o hyn ymlaen.
Dw i'n Dduw trugarog!
Fydda i ddim yn dal dig am byth.
13Dim ond i ti gyfaddef dy fai –
cyfaddef dy fod wedi gwrthryfela
yn erbyn yr Arglwydd dy Dduw,
a rhoi dy hun i dduwiau eraill dan bob coeden ddeiliog.
Cyfaddef dy fod ti ddim wedi gwrando arna i,’ meddai'r Arglwydd.
14“‘Trowch yn ôl ata i, bobl anffyddlon,’ meddai'r Arglwydd. ‘Fi ydy'ch gŵr chi go iawn. Bydda i'n eich cymryd chi yn ôl i Seion – bob yn un o'r pentrefi a bob yn ddau o'r gwahanol deuluoedd. 15Bydda i'n rhoi arweinwyr ▼

i chi sy'n ffyddlon i mi. Byddan nhw'n gofalu amdanoch chi'n ddoeth ac yn ddeallus.’ 16Bydd y boblogaeth yn cynyddu eto, a bryd hynny,” meddai'r Arglwydd, “fydd pobl ddim yn dweud pethau fel, ‘Mae gynnon ni Arch ymrwymiad yr Arglwydd!’ Fydd y peth ddim yn croesi'r meddwl. Fyddan nhw ddim yn ei chofio hi nac yn ei cholli hi! A fydd dim angen gwneud un newydd. 17Bryd hynny bydd dinas Jerwsalem yn cael ei galw yn orsedd yr Arglwydd. Bydd pobl o wledydd y byd i gyd yn dod at ei gilydd yno i addoli'r Arglwydd. Fyddan nhw ddim yn dal ati'n ystyfnig i ddilyn y duedd sydd ynddyn nhw i wneud drwg. 18Bryd hynny bydd pobl Jwda a phobl Israel yn teithio yn ôl gyda'i gilydd o'r gaethglud yn y gogledd ▼▼3:18 yn y gogledd Asyria, lle cafodd pobl Israel eu cymryd yn gaethion yn 722 CC, a Babilon, lle byddai pobl Jwda yn cael eu cymryd yn gaethion yn 586 CC

Dw i'n mynd i roi'r tir hyfryd yma i ti –
yr etifeddiaeth orau yn y byd i gyd!’
Roeddwn i'n arfer meddwl
y byddet ti'n fy ngalw i ‘Fy nhad’
a byth yn troi cefn arna i.
20Ond yn lle hynny,
buoch yn anffyddlon i mi, bobl Israel,
fel gwraig sy'n anffyddlon i'w gŵr.”
—yr Arglwydd sy'n dweud hyn.
21Mae lleisiau i'w clywed ar ben y bryniau.
Sŵn pobl Israel yn crïo ac yn pledio ar eu ‛duwiau‛.
Maen nhw wedi anghofio'r Arglwydd eu Duw
a chrwydro mor bell oddi wrtho!
22“Dewch yn ôl ata i bobl anffyddlon;
gadewch i mi eich gwella chi!”
“Iawn! Dyma ni'n dod,” meddai'r bobl.
“Ti ydy'r Arglwydd ein Duw ni.
23Dydy eilun-dduwiau'r bryniau yn ddim ond twyll,
a'r holl rialtwch wrth addoli ar y mynyddoedd.
Yr Arglwydd ein Duw ydy'r unig un all achub Israel.
24Ond mae Baal, y duw ffiaidd yna, wedi llyncu'r cwbl
wnaeth ein hynafiaid weithio mor galed amdano o'r dechrau
– eu defaid a'u gwartheg, eu meibion a'u merched.
25Gadewch i ni orwedd mewn cywilydd,
a'n gwarth fel blanced troson ni.
Dŷn ni a'n hynafiaid wedi pechu
yn erbyn yr Arglwydd ein Duw
o'r dechrau cyntaf hyd heddiw.
Dŷn ni ddim wedi bod yn ufudd iddo o gwbl.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
