James 2
Peidio dangos ffafriaeth
1Frodyr a chwiorydd, dydy dangos ffafriaeth ddim yn beth iawn i bobl sy'n dweud eu bod nhw'n credu yn ein Harglwydd bendigedig ni, Iesu Grist. 2Er enghraifft, meddyliwch petai rhywun cyfoethog, yn gwisgo dillad crand a modrwyau aur a gemau, yn dod i mewn i un o'ch cyfarfodydd, ▼▼2:2 i un o'ch cyfarfodydd Groeg, “i'ch synagog”.
ac yna cardotyn tlawd mewn dillad budron yn dod i mewn hefyd. 3Petaech chi'n rhoi'r sylw i gyd i'r person yn y dillad crand, ac yn dweud wrtho, “Eisteddwch yma, dyma'r sedd orau”, ond wedyn yn dweud wrth y cardotyn, “Dos di i sefyll yn y cefn, fan acw” neu “Eistedd di ar lawr yn y gornel yma”, 4fyddech chi ddim yn awgrymu fod un person yn well na'r llall ac yn dangos fod eich cymhellion chi'n anghywir? 5Gwrandwch arna i, frodyr a chwiorydd annwyl. Onid y bobl sy'n dlawd yng ngolwg y byd mae Duw wedi eu dewis i fod yn gyfoethog yn ysbrydol? Byddan nhw'n cael rhannu yn y deyrnas mae wedi ei haddo i'r rhai sy'n ei garu. 6Ond dych chi'n amharchu'r tlawd! Y cyfoethog ydy'r bobl sy'n eich cam-drin chi! Onid nhw sy'n eich llusgo chi o flaen y llysoedd? 7Onid nhw sy'n cablu enw da yr un dych chi'n perthyn iddo? 8Os ydych chi'n ufudd i orchymyn pwysica'r ▼▼2:8 orchymyn pwysica'r: Mae'r Groeg yn dweud “gorchymyn brenhinol”, sef un wedi ei roi gan y Brenin mawr – Duw.
ysgrifau sanctaidd: “Rwyt i garu dy gymydog fel rwyt ti'n dy garu dy hun,” c da iawn chi. 9Ond os ydych chi'n dangos ffafriaeth dych chi'n pechu, ac mae Cyfraith Duw yn dweud eich bod chi'n droseddwr. 10Mae torri un o orchmynion Duw yr un fath â thorri'r Gyfraith i gyd. 11Dwedodd Duw “Paid godinebu” d (sef cael rhyw tu allan i dy briodas), a dwedodd hefyd “Paid llofruddio” e. Felly os wyt ti'n lladd rhywun, rwyt ti wedi torri'r Gyfraith, hyd yn oed os wyt ti ddim wedi godinebu. 12Dylech chi siarad a byw fel pobl sy'n mynd i gael eu barnu gan gyfraith cariad, sef ‛y gyfraith sy'n eich rhyddhau chi‛. 13Fydd dim trugaredd i chi os ydych chi heb ddangos trugaredd at eraill, ond mae dangos trugaredd yn trechu barn. Credu a Gweithredu
14Frodyr a chwiorydd, beth ydy'r pwynt i rywun honni ei fod yn credu, ac wedyn gwneud dim byd o ganlyniad i hynny? Ai dyna'r math o ‛gredu‛ sy'n achub rhywun? 15Er enghraifft, os ydych chi'n gweld brawd neu chwaer yn brin o ddillad neu heb fwyd, 16ac yna'n dweud, “Pob bendith i ti! Cadw'n gynnes, a gobeithio cei di rywbeth i'w fwyta.” Beth ydy'r pwynt os ydych chi'n ei adael yno heb roi dim byd iddo? 17Mae ‛credu‛ ar ei ben ei hun yn union yr un fath. Os ydy'r ‛credu‛ ddim yn arwain at wneud rhywbeth, mae'n farw gelain. 18Ond wedyn mae rhywun yn dadlau “Mae gan rai pobl ffydd ac mae eraill yn gwneud daioni.” A dw i'n ateb, “Wyt ti'n gallu dangos dy ffydd i mi heb wneud dim? Dw i'n dangos fy mod i'n credu drwy beth dw i'n ei wneud!” 19Rwyt ti'n credu mai un Duw sy'n bod, wyt ti? Wel da iawn ti! Ond cofia fod y cythreuliaid yn credu hynny hefyd, ac yn crynu mewn ofn! 20Y twpsyn! Oes rhaid i mi brofi i ti fod ‛credu‛ sydd ddim yn arwain at wneud rhywbeth yn dda i ddim? 21Meddylia am ein cyndad Abraham. Onid y ffaith ei fod wedi gweithredu, a mynd ati i offrymu ei fab Isaac ar yr allor f wnaeth ei berthynas e gyda Duw yn iawn? 22Roedd ei ffydd i'w weld drwy beth wnaeth e. Roedd y gweithredu yn dangos ei fod yn credu go iawn, dim rhyw hanner credu. 23Daeth beth mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn ei ddweud yn wir: “Credodd Abraham, a chafodd ei dderbyn i berthynas iawn gyda Duw.” g Cafodd ei alw'n ffrind Duw! h 24Felly dylet ti weld mai beth mae rhywun yn ei wneud sy'n dangos ei fod yn iawn gyda Duw, nid dim ond bod rhywun yn dweud ei fod yn credu. 25I roi enghraifft hollol wahanol meddylia am Rahab y butain; onid beth wnaeth hi ddaeth â hi i berthynas iawn gyda Duw? Rhoddodd groeso i'r ysbiwyr a'u cuddio nhw, ac wedyn eu hanfon i ffwrdd ar hyd ffordd wahanol. i 26Yn union fel mae corff yn farw os oes dim anadl ynddo, mae credu heb weithredu yn farw!
